Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle-Chapter 569: The Loot and The Warriors
Layla wiped the sweat from her brow as she took all her weapons scattered around. They were the spiked metal balls, daggers, knives, and others she had thrown out to deal with
"That... was intense." She muttered as she looked at the surroundings, searching for any weapons she had missed.
Klara smiled as she also felt that the battle just now, without using any of their high-level weapons, was definitely a huge help.
"I’d say that was a great warm-up."
Laura then pointed toward the abandoned bus nearby. It was undamaged as they had been careful with their attacks.
"Let’s check that bus first before we relax. I’m sure you all noticed that they weren’t roaming like usual... it almost seemed like they were protecting this place..."
The three exchanged glances before moving toward the rusted vehicle.
They all had the same thoughts.
Looking at the abandoned bus, its windows were shattered, the doors barely hanging onto their hinges. Furthermore, they could a faded sign on the side that read "Silverbrook Academy – Field Trip."
"School bus?" Layla muttered, stepping inside cautiously.
The interior was ruined—torn seats, dried bloodstains, and long-forgotten backpacks scattered across the floor. But what caught their eyes was at the very back—two golden treasure chests could be seen just lying around in that place!
"Wait… Isn’t this place already searched before?" Layla muttered.
"It must be a system thing… Putting rewards here and there." Laura muttered. None of them could truly understand how the apocalypse and the system worked as they knew little thing about the situation.
What they do know, however, is the fact that they had to kill Zombies or search for a cure.
Klara didn’t care about this as she smiled at the two treasure chests.
"Jackpot."
Laura grinned as she approached the Golden Treasure Chest to loot it. Well, Layla and Klara already looted the two Tyrant Champion Zombies after all.
[ You have discovered a Golden Treasure Chest. ]
[ You have earned 10 Experience Point. ]
She eagerly opened the first chest, and the moment she did, a bright golden light burst forth.
[ You have opened the Golden Treasure Chest. ]
[ You have received a pair of Infernal Gauntlets ( Rare ) ] x1
[ You have received Imperfect Zombie Blood Crystals ] x10
[ You have received the High-Grade Spirit Stones ] x10
[ You have received the Skill Upgrade Potion ] x10
[ You have received the Mystic Ink Codex ] x1
[ All items have been transferred to your Inventory. ]
"Ohhh… It all transferred to my Inventory. Here have a look." Laura said as she took out all the items for everyone to see.
The pair of gauntlets were useless to them, so they decided to sell it later.
The blood crystals were an alchemy material, so Shane or Anna would be a good choice if they wanted to get rid of it.
They weren’t unfamiliar with the High-Grade Spirit Stones but even in the shelter, it was still a precious item. After all, a total of 10,000 Spirit Points could be regenerated with the help of each stone. With that many Spirit Points, using Telekinesis, Telepathy, and Elemental Manipulation would be a lot easier.
"Skill Upgrade Potion… This is the first time I’ve seen it." Layla muttered.
"Yes. It’s not in the Marketplace either."
"Most of my skills are only Level 5… It only says in the description that it upgrades the level of skill. However, it didn’t say how much upgrade will be done."
"That’s true." Layla nodded, agreeing with Klara and Laura’s statement.
"Let’s test it later… But for this book or codes… It’s actually containing ancient alchemy formulas for crafting Skill Tattoos! This could be sold for a high price! Laura said.
"That’s true…" Layla smiled seeing that the contents of the chest were all valuable.
Of course, none of them were thinking of selling these items outside their clan. The codex would definitely be sold to Shane as they recalled how he had given them various Skill Potions to enhance their fighting abilities.
"Alright… Next! Next!" Klara excitedly said as she looked at the other Golden Treasure Chest.
She had no idea when she’d ever get to open another Golden Treasure Chest, so it was quite normal for her to be this excited.
"Let’s see…" Klara muttered as she opened the Treasure Chest.
Soon, another wave of golden light spilled out as the loot appeared.
[ You have opened the Golden Treasure Chest. ]
[ You have received the Starlight Rapier ( Rare ) ] x1
[ You have received Zombie Cores ] x200
[ You have received the Phantom Mirage Cloak ( Rare ) ] x1
[ You have received the Mid-Grade Spirit Stones ] x75
[ You have received the Titan Serum ] x10
[ You have received the Swift Iron Ingots ] x50
Once again, the items were transferred to Klara’s inventory so she had to take them out for everyone to see.
Layla was stunned as soon as she saw the items they just looted.
"We’re rich… That’s some serious loot."
Klara was already eyeing the Phantom Mirage Cloak. "I call dibs on this."
Laura chuckled. "Fair enough. Let’s split the loot later. But look around—we’re not done yet."
That’s when Layla’s eyes landed on something odd—two locked suitcases, jammed between the torn seats.
"What do we have here?" she murmured, kneeling beside them. She wouldn’t be unhappy if she found that it was empty or filled with laundry clothes but she was still looking forward to seeing something better.
Klara cracked her knuckles as she was ready to forcefully open it…
"We opening them the fun way or the safe way?"
Laura reached into her pack, pulling out a lockpick set. "Let’s not destroy potentially valuable loot, yeah?"
It only took a few seconds before the first suitcase clicked open.
"I didn’t know you had that skill." Layla muttered.
"I have plenty of skills… Just low level…" Laura replied.
Anyway, the moment they lifted the lid, all three of them froze.
Inside were rows of neatly packed vials, with a golden liquid.
"…Is that what I think it is?" Layla whispered. She had learned something similar to this from Mr. Wadsworth.
As for the other two, they could just tell that these vials were precious. Whatever purpose they have, they have definitely found something amazing.
Laura opened the second suitcase, revealing even more vials.
Klara picked one up, turning it over. "Layla… Is this similar to that Super Soldier Serum?"
Layla nodded as she knew that they really found the jackpot this time. "Yes…"
"This is… insane. There’s two dozen in each case…"

The three of them felt excited as they knew that Shane would be excited to have these things. Since the serums would most likely be used to protect their shelter, they must give this to their Clan Leader to thank him for his kindness.
Furthermore, these Serums shouldn’t be that great for the three of them.
Needless to say, none of them wanted to have a physique similar to Super Soldiers. Even if they wanted to get stronger, they’d rather not choose to change their muscle mass.
Laura smirked. "Well, well, well… Looks like this raid was more than worth it."

In the meantime, as the three were getting ready for the raid, many other groups of Survivors were also preparing their items and skills before the day of the event.
With only two days left before the Dreadnight Fortress Raid, every warrior, shooter, and spellcaster involved in the mission did their best to ensure that they would not disappoint Shane when the raid came.
Among them were Kale, Vernon, and Nia—three skilled recruits by Shane…
They were pioneers of this Eclipse Domain but as soon as strong recruits and survivors came, they seemed to have been forgotten by Shane and had rarely met them during the past few months.
Thankfully, as soon as they heard the announcement about the participating survivors, they knew that Shane hadn’t forgotten about them.
At this time, the three of them were trying to increase the level of the Skill that they obtained from Shane’s Skill Scrolls.
Kale, a former Gladiator Champion, was now relying on Decay Strike Skill that he had luckily obtained. It was only Level 4 at the moment but he was working on it.
Vernon, the sniper with the Eagle’s Mark Talent was also making use of his Plague Aura Skill. He was trying to incorporate his bullets with its effect after all.
Lastly, Nia, the Druidess from the Mountain Tribe, with her new Petrifying Sphere Skill, she could summon a sphere of earth magic that hardened her enemies’ limbs, slowing or immobilizing them.
At this time, the three had spent the afternoon preparing their gear, but as night fell, they gathered in the training yard, a secluded space where only some warriors trained after dark.
Most of the Eclipse Domain’s warriors had already returned to their homes or at the Rusty Tankard.
But not these three.
Kale grinned as he cracked his knuckles. "Alright, let’s increase the level of these new skills we have. Let’s surprise Shane on the day of the raid…"
