Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 67: Talent Magic
This "Lightning Strike" wasn’t limited to just his palms. By concentrating the Magic Power within his body, he could even shoot Lightning from his mouth, eyes, or other organs.
Raylo gave it a try. As Magic Power gathered in his mouth, he actually shot a bolt of Lightning from it.
However, his aim wasn’t as precise as with his hands. The Lightning blasted from his mouth struck the wall, leaving a scorched black mark.
This method of attack made him feel a bit like a Human-shaped Giant Dragon.
He suppressed his excitement and began to test the second Magic Skill: "Lightning Enchantment."
At his command, an even purer stream of Thunder Energy surged from within him, flowing down his arm and covering his right hand. Pale blue arcs of electricity swirled around his palm with a soft BZZT, and a tingling sensation of power emanated from it.
He could clearly feel his right hand had been imbued with the properties of lightning. Every swing now carried enough force to seemingly tear the air itself.
"Interesting."
A smile touched the corners of Raylo’s lips.
’This Lightning Enchantment doesn’t just enhance the power of my fists and feet. If I enchant my Weapon with it, won’t it make my blade sharper and my attacks more piercing, with a paralyzing effect?’
’This is practically Magic tailor-made for a Knight!’
Finally, there was "Lightning Speed."
Raylo took a deep breath, concentrating on his legs.
The Thunder Energy surged downward, gathering at his feet.
WHOOSH!
He felt his legs grow light, his entire body propelled by an unseen force. In an instant, he shot from one end of the room to the other.
He moved so fast that he almost left a faint afterimage in his wake.
For a moment, the sunlight outside the window seemed to distort from his incredible speed.
"Hoo..."
Raylo steadied himself, his chest rising and falling slightly.
The exhilarating experience of such extreme speed made his blood pump.
’In a fight, this skill will be crucial for both pursuit and evasion.’
"Aowr!"
Moonlight padded over to Raylo’s feet with an elegant, cat-like gait. It rubbed its large, fluffy head against Raylo’s calf and let out a contented purr.
Raylo chuckled and bent down to rub its head.
"Little guy, I owe you big time for this."
The Silver Dragon’s gift was far more bountiful than he had ever imagined.
Moonlight squinted its eyes in pleasure, its tail swishing lazily behind it. Then, as if remembering something, it nudged Raylo with its head and gestured with a paw toward the door.
Raylo paused for a moment before it dawned on him. ’The little guy must be hungry.’
’I was in seclusion for my breakthrough, then spent all morning comprehending Magic. I must have starved the poor thing.’
"Alright, alright, I’ll go get you a feast."
Raylo answered with a laugh.
He had advanced to Great Knight, his Fighting Spirit Cultivation had soared, and now he had unexpectedly awakened Thunder Magic and mastered three practical Magic Skills.
The gains from this period of seclusion had far exceeded his expectations.
He could feel that his bond with Moonlight seemed to have grown even tighter due to this magical awakening.
"Come on, Moonlight! You’re getting an extra meal today—a double portion!"
In a corner of the Knight Training Camp.
Raylo found a secluded spot in the shade of a tree and sat down next to Moonlight.
Two fat geese, roasted to a greasy, golden-brown, sat before them—one for each—wafting a tantalizingly hot aroma.
He had specially ordered the kitchen to rush them as a reward for both Moonlight and himself.
"Aowr!"
Moonlight brought its head close to the roasted goose, its pale gold dragon eyes sparkling. It gave the goose a prim sniff before extending a pink tongue to lick the crispy skin, immediately letting out a contented purr.
After that, it cast aside all pleasantries, opened its mouth, and tore off a large chunk of the goose leg, chewing it meticulously.
Raylo couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight.
He picked up his own roasted goose and took a hearty bite.
The skin was charred, fragrant, and crispy, while the meat inside was tender and juicy. The rich fat and spices had permeated every fiber perfectly.
The hunger from his breakthrough, intertwined with the satisfaction of his brimming power, made the simple roasted goose taste exceptionally delicious.
He could clearly feel that since his advancement to Great Knight, his body’s demand for energy had grown considerably.
Occasionally, a few faint, silver-blue arcs of electricity would dance unconsciously at his fingertips—the newborn Power of Thunder and Lightning, celebrating with glee.
This power had already become part of his instincts.
...
「The Knight Training Camp.」
The training grounds were a scene of feverish activity.
"Hah!"
A deep, explosive shout rang out, like the roar of a Giant Bear.
In the center of the training grounds, an exceptionally burly youth was engaged in high-intensity combat training with a massive Magical Beast.
The youth was about seventeen or eighteen years old. His bronze skin glistened healthily in the sun, and his corded muscles were as solid as bedrock, radiating a sense of explosive power.
It was Thor.
At that moment, Thor’s legs were planted wide, as firm as an ancient tree’s roots in the sandy earth. His arm muscles bulged, veins popping, as he braced himself against a custom-made Fine Steel Giant Shield.
The Shield was covered in scratches and dents of varying depths, a clear testament to countless violent impacts.
Facing him was an Armored Rhinoceros the size of a wild bull.
The rhinoceros was covered head to toe in thick, blue-black Armor, the edges of its Armor Plates glinting with a cold, metallic sheen. It looked like a mobile steel Fortress.
The thick, menacing horn on its head was currently glowing with an earthen-yellow halo—it had clearly activated some sort of Talent Ability as it viciously pushed against Thor’s Shield.
"BELLOW!"
The Armored Rhinoceros let out a deafening roar, its hooves pawing at the ground and kicking up clouds of dust.
With every exertion from its massive body, the ground trembled slightly. A terrifying impact force was continuously transferred through the Shield and into Thor.
Thor clenched his jaw, sweat pouring down his forehead, but his gaze was resolute, and his body remained completely still.
His Earth Bear Bloodline granted him unparalleled Power and endurance, allowing him to stand toe-to-toe in a contest of pure strength against the Armored Rhinoceros, a beast renowned for its charging power.
"Hold the line, Thor! Feel its power! Guide it, don’t just resist it head-on!"
From the sidelines, the instructor, Barrett, bellowed, his voice booming.
Hearing this, Thor took a deep breath. His tense body seemed to relax for an instant, but then a deeper, more condensed power rose up from his feet, traveling through his core and into his arms.
He was no longer just resisting with brute force. He began trying to deflect some of the impact while using the Shield’s recoil to find an opening in the Armored Rhinoceros’s assault.
"Not bad, kid. You’re getting the hang of it!"
A glimmer of approval flashed in Barrett’s eyes.
The Armored Rhinoceros seemed to sense the change in its opponent, and its assault grew even more frenzied.
It abruptly took two steps back, then charged again. Its horn, glowing with an earthen-yellow light, was like a siege Giant Hammer, crashing into the Shield with unstoppable momentum.
BOOM!
A colossal bang, like the sudden striking of a great temple bell, rang out, forcing the spectating Knight Apprentices to instinctively cover their ears.
Amidst the swirling dust, Thor’s figure was sent sliding back several meters by the tremendous impact, his feet gouging two deep furrows in the sandy earth.
But Thor did not fall. Though the Shield in his hand trembled violently, he still held it steady before him.
