Giant Dragon Lord: Starting from Daily Intelligence-Chapter 135 - 129: Earth Dragon Bloodline Potion
’An Earth Dragon Bloodline Potion?’
A thought stirred in Raylo’s mind.
This was a critical component of the "Dragon Descendant Knight" enhancement project.
He grabbed Master Barnaby’s hand.
"Master, let’s return to the main hall to discuss this in detail."
Back in the castle’s main hall, Raylo waved off the servants and personally poured a glass of water for Master Barnaby.
"Master, what are the specific effects of this Earth Dragon Bloodline Potion?"
Raylo got straight to the point.
Master Barnaby chugged some water and wiped his mouth, his excitement not the least bit diminished.
"The primary effects of the Earth Dragon Bloodline Potion are to drastically enhance the user’s physical defense and raw power. Just think about it! Those Earth Dragons have tough hides and immense strength. Once their bloodline is integrated, the Knights on the battlefield will be..."
"The Earth Dragon bloodline is relatively mild, so the success rate and safety of the fusion process far exceeded our expectations."
’Enhanced defense and power!’
These were precisely the attributes his Knights needed most.
Raylo’s breathing grew slightly ragged. If this batch of potions was put to use, the overall combat strength of the Black Stone Territory’s Knights would undoubtedly soar once again.
"Excellent!"
Raylo exclaimed in admiration.
"Master, you never cease to surprise me."
He pondered for a moment before making a swift decision.
"I’ve decided. We’ll select twenty Knights from the Moonlight Knight Order to be the first candidates for the Dragon Descendant Knight program."
Upon hearing this, the excitement on Master Barnaby’s face suddenly receded. He clicked his tongue as if tasting something unpleasant, then waved his hand with a hint of disdain.
"The Earth Dragon bloodline... It’s just so-so. Better than nothing, I suppose."
Raylo was stunned. ’He was just dancing with excitement a moment ago. How could his attitude change in the blink of an eye?’
’This Master’s temper is truly hard to predict.’
Master Barnaby continued, "Lord, let me tell you, the Earth Dragon is only a Tier Two Magical Beast, after all. Its potential is limited. The Iron-backed Dragon Lizards in the lab are almost used up. You need to hurry up and get me another batch."
He rubbed his hands together, his eyes growing fervent once more.
In his eyes, the success of the Earth Dragon Bloodline Potion was already a thing of the past. The Iron-backed Dragon Lizards were his new obsession.
"Iron-backed Dragon Lizards?"
Raylo raised a slight eyebrow.
’Iron-backed Dragon Lizards... We caught quite a few last time. I didn’t expect Master Barnaby to use them up so quickly.’
Master Barnaby gave a sly laugh, his bird’s nest of hair wobbling.
"That’s right, based on my experiments... Tsk tsk, the bloodline of that creature! If successfully integrated, it not only increases power and physique by fifty percent, but it can also awaken Earth Element Magic Skills! The Earth Dragon type is, at best, a ’Sub-dragon Race,’ only good enough to make do."
Raylo didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. It seemed that just as he thought he’d struck gold, in the Master’s eyes, this "gold" was far from pure enough.
However, this also indirectly proved Master Barnaby’s ambition and ability.
He was never satisfied with the status quo, always striving for the next breakthrough.
"I’ll figure out a way to get more Iron-backed Dragon Lizards."
Raylo nodded.
"Good."
"But just Iron-backed Dragon Lizards won’t be enough. You also need to find more Sub-Dragon Species Magical Beasts of Tier Three or higher. Otherwise, this job would be far too unchallenging."
Master Barnaby continued to ramble on.
"Raylo, my boy, remember this: most Knights can only integrate one type of Bloodline Potion in their entire life. You must use them cautiously."
"Also, for a successful fusion, the recipient’s Level cannot be more than one Level lower than the magical beast the bloodline is from. If you force the fusion, the risk of failure is extremely high."
"I’ll give the potion’s formula and other important notes to that boy, Carl, later. From now on, I won’t be bothering with low-grade potions like the Earth Dragon’s."
"Thank you for your hard work, Master," Raylo said sincerely.
Master Barnaby waved his hand, reverting to his usual disheveled appearance, and let out a yawn.
"Alright, I’m going back to catch up on some sleep. I haven’t closed my eyes in days because of this stupid thing." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
Without waiting for Raylo to say anything more, he shuffled out, still muttering to himself.
"Blood concentration, scale samples..."
Raylo watched him go, shaking his head helplessly.
’Perhaps all geniuses are just this eccentric.’
「Three days passed in the blink of an eye.」
At the border between Black Stone Territory and Amber Territory.
At the entrance to a desolate canyon, the sound of hoofbeats mingled with the low calls of Griffins.
Raylo sat straight-backed atop the broad spine of the Storm Griffin King, "Baofeng," whose yellowish-brown Iron Feathers glinted like metal in the morning breeze.
Baofeng let out a low roar, his sharp gaze fixed on the distance as if answering some call.
Behind him, the Storm Griffin Group fanned out in a loose formation, following their leader.
Twenty Pegasus Knights hovered in mid-air, their Pegasi beating their wings gracefully, while the Knights themselves wore solemn expressions.
On the ground, the Moonlight Knight Order, led by Ed and Alex, was already in formation. These Knights, mostly veterans from Black Stone Territory, had been tested by blood and fire. Now, their gazes were calm and resolute, filled with anticipation for the upcoming Mammoth Herd hunt.
Before long, the silhouette of another contingent appeared on the horizon, the sound of their hoofbeats drawing nearer.
A magnificent Golden Feathered Griffin was the first to come into view, the edges of its wings shimmering with a faint golden light.
Atop the Griffin was Lillian, dressed in a fiery-red Mage’s combat attire that outlined her fine figure and added a touch of heroic spirit.
"Brother!"
Her clear voice cut through the air as the Golden Feathered Griffin carried her down to land lightly beside Baofeng.
"Lillian."
Raylo gave a slight nod, his gaze sweeping over the forces behind her.
One hundred Knights of the Blazing Flame Knight Order, clad in uniform Crimson Chain Armor over tunics bearing their family crest, held Fine Steel Long Spears. Their presence was formidable.
At their head, the Sky Knight, Captain Kaine, respectfully saluted Raylo from his warhorse.
What truly made Raylo’s eyes light up was the sight on the flank of the Knight formation: Alina Great Mage and several of her Mage disciples were all mounted on spirited Pegasi, forming a small but elite aerial unit.
These were the very same Pegasi that Raylo had gifted to Lillian not long ago.
"A Pegasus Mage Squad?"
The corners of Raylo’s mouth curved into a smile.
Lillian lifted her small chin proudly, her eyes glinting with smug satisfaction.
"Of course! The swiftness of the Pegasi combined with the ranged suppression of Mages is far more flexible than a simple knightly charge. Isn’t it a great idea, Brother?"
"It is indeed a stroke of genius."
Raylo praised her sincerely.
A Mage’s survivability had always been their greatest weakness. The mobility of the Pegasi would undoubtedly enhance their effectiveness on the battlefield immensely. This combination held enormous potential for future wars.
Alina Great Mage also smiled and nodded in acknowledgment.
"Your generosity, my Lord, has given these children a better platform to display their talents."
The young Mages behind her, a mix of awe and curiosity in their eyes, secretly sized up Raylo, the Storm Griffin King beneath him, and the intimidating group of Storm Griffins.
The two forces successfully rendezvoused. The canyon immediately filled with a clamor of voices, buzzing with the tension and excitement that precedes a great battle.
This was the first joint operation for Raylo’s and Lillian’s Knights, serving as a perfect training opportunity.
Given the close relationship between the siblings Raylo and Lillian, there would be many more such opportunities in the future.
With both parties gathered, the key figures held a brief meeting on a flat, open space to the side.
"Brother, I’ve already spoken with Teacher Alina and Captain Kaine. For this operation, Black Stone Territory will take the lead. Amber Territory’s forces will follow all of your commands."
Raylo nodded, not bothering with pleasantries or refusals.
