Ghost Exorciser: The Oust Fake Heiress Strikes-Chapter 96: Cake
Taking a deep breath, he corrected himself. "Make it a strawberry cake for my sister."
After hanging up, he murmured, "Now I need to deal with that Lana. She’s becoming a real headache."
A glint appeared in Aston’s eyes as his expression hardened. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
"It’s time for the Almond family to give that girl the final blow. Otherwise, she’ll never understand how vast the sky truly is."
Mr. Crew, still in his black earthworm form, waited until Aston left the office before slowly transforming back into a black crow.
He puffed out his chest in anger and muttered, "If I ever get the chance, I’ll teach that brat a good lesson."
With that, he picked up the letter and flew out through the window, determined to carry out Lana’s plan.
Once he reached Lucian’s mansion, he found Lucy. The moment she saw him, she asked, "Why are you here? Did Ms. Lana return?"
Mr. Crew handed her the letter silently. Lucy immediately read it, and realization dawned on her face.
Without hesitation, she entered Lana’s room.
This time, she didn’t dare show any doubt toward Mr. Crew. After all, Lana’s previous speech had showcased how deeply Lana cherished and trusted him. To doubt Mr. Crew now would be the same as doubting Lana herself.
After packing the money into a bag, Lucy looked at Mr. Crow and said,
"I’ll ask one of the drivers to deliver the money to Lana exactly at 6:30, just as she mentioned."
Mr. Crow nodded and spread his wings, about to take off, when Lucy stopped him.
Thinking for a moment, she took out a bank card and handed it to him.
"This was given by Master Lucian," she said. "He mentioned that if Lana ever needs to cover any expenses, she can use this card."
Mr. Crow looked at the card and couldn’t help but recall Lana’s earlier words.
Truly, this ’white moonlight’ of hers is a giver. He knows how to win her heart.
At the same time, doubt flickered in his eyes.
’But this Lucian... he’s hiding something. Either he’s fallen for Lana, or he’s grooming her as his future bride. There’s no other reason to be this indulgent.’
Once he returned to the university, he informed Lana, "The car will arrive at 6:30."
Lana let out a relieved sigh. With everything going according to plan, she finally decided to cultivate with peace of mind.
Now that she was already at Stage 1 of the Black Rank, she had high hopes of reaching the Yellow Rank soon.
From others’ perspective, it might take one or two years, but from her own...
’I can reach it within a month if I cultivate diligently.’
By the time 6:30 arrived, many of her classmates had gathered, eager to watch the show.
They assembled at the open ground of the university, where Brenda and Lana were supposed to meet.
When they arrived, they saw Lana standing in the middle of the field, waiting calmly.
The moment she noticed the growing crowd, she smiled faintly and continued to occupy herself in her quiet boredom.
As for her own classmates, Lana had already told them to pretend not to know her.
She didn’t want the Almond family to discover her enrollment in the Mystic Cultivation Department.
Her reasoning was simple: she didn’t want her enemies to know about her trump card.
Compared to other departments, verifying a student’s identity in elite divisions like Summoners, Talisman Practitioners, or Mystics was strictly forbidden unless the student revealed it themselves.
This secrecy explained why Betty and Leila were the only publicly known members. Few knew of Wade and Richard, and though everyone was aware that Fay belonged to the special division, they didn’t know about her enrollment in the mystic department.
Like a mist concealing its own, the Mystic Department was shrouded in mystery.
Not even the most powerful families could uncover the true identities of students in the mystic department. Otherwise, they would’ve fought to sponsor them... or worse, targeted them.
Lana waited patiently until Brenda arrived, just a minute before 6:30. Brenda strutted in with a proud expression.
"So, where’s the money?" she demanded.
Lana grinned. "I was planning to transfer it to you through the bank."
Brenda shook her head, smiling mockingly.
"There are too many hackers these days. They make fake transfers and trick people into thinking money’s been deposited when it hasn’t."
Hearing that, Lana raised a brow. "Are you subtly calling me a scammer?"
Brenda chuckled and opened her mouth to continue, but Lana lifted her hand, cutting her off.
"I know what you’re going to say next, something about my parents being filthy and me being the same, right? Save it." She looked Brenda straight in the eye and said calmly, "I’ll repay the money in cash then."
With that, she turned and began walking away.
Brenda laughed loudly. "Maybe this is the last time we’ll see her! She’ll probably run off halfway... no way she has $30 million!"
Her words earned her a round of laughter, while others stared at Lana as if they were watching a show.
Lana ignored her and kept walking.
Brenda watched her retreating back with gleaming eyes, silently praying she’d go far enough to reach the ambush point Aston’s men had prepared.
But before her anticipation could bloom, a black car pulled up at the university gate.
The driver stepped out and handed a heavy bag to Lana.
She accepted it gracefully, turned around, and walked back toward the field. Seeing this, Brenda’s face turned pale.
Lana stopped in front of her and handed over the bag.
Then she looked toward the crowd and said,
"It’s better if someone counts this publicly. Otherwise, I might be accused of giving fake notes, or worse, that I didn’t pay the full amount. The Almond family might try to twist the story again."
Her words hung in the air. One of the most credible classmates stepped forward... none other than Tom, Brenda’s admirer.
