Getting Stronger By Fighting-Chapter 519 - 517 Dark Energy_1
"Please wait as the host’s foreign energy is being analyzed!"
"Analysis is in progress...please wait..."
"1%, 2%...100%"
"Analysis successful. Congratulations, Host, you have successfully activated Dark Energy!"
Dark Energy?
Wang Zhan, somewhat puzzled, opened his attribute panel.
Host: Wang Zhan
Dark Energy: 1
Origin Point: 2 (2/2,000++)
Essence Energy: 14,000++
Limit: 0
Strength: 15,001
Physique: 15,001
Charm: 960
Wisdom: 2,500
Mental Power: 44,999++
The sudden appearance of Dark Energy, though only one point, had also mysteriously increased his Wisdom by one hundred points.
Despite such a long period of cultivation, his Wisdom had always grown at a very steady rate. A sudden addition of 100 points like this was almost unprecedented.
"System, can you explain to me what this Dark Energy is?"
Wang Zhan was genuinely confused. This bizarre thing had suddenly appeared and implanted itself in him. Even though it added one hundred points to his Wisdom, who knew what complications it might eventually cause?
"Please comprehend it yourself, Host!"
Ignoring Wang Zhan’s question, the System merely responded coldly before returning to silence.
Fine! Typical System! So be it if I don’t understand it now. Eventually, I will!
Without dwelling further on Dark Energy, he lifted his head to look at the smiling Old Man and said, "You previously mentioned that as long as I don’t provoke that thing inside Quan State City, I should encounter no problems. So, I can go out to train now, right?"
With a nonchalant shrug, the Old Man responded, "Your legs are your own. No need to ask for my approval!"
With the Old Man’s words, Wang Zhan didn’t plan on delaying any further. After a quick acknowledgment, he promptly got up and exited the room.
Now that I’ve reached the strength of a fourth-tier Martial General, there’s only one thing to do: engage in relentless battles and keep racking up stats!
After stepping outside, he stood in the middle of the empty street.
A breeze swept past, carrying the faint smell of burnt earth mixed with something charred. At this moment, Quan State City displayed no signs of human habitation.
Decay! Desolation! These were the only things Wang Zhan felt. Looking around, his heart filled with sorrow. Humans will never be slaves! This phrase was more than a slogan; it was a deeply rooted conviction in his heart! But beneath this conviction, how many human experts had laid down their lives and shed blood on this path? Countless Martial Artists had fought ardently for human freedom. So what about him, Wang Zhan? Would he simply stand here and lament?
He took a deep breath, then slowly exhaled.
His gaze became determined once again. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
Strength! Power! He shook off all distracting thoughts. The only thing he wanted to do right now was fight! Engage in endless battles!
"ROAR!"
A loud roar echoed in the distance. Wang Zhan’s eyes lit up, and he uttered, "Just what I need!" before leaping into the air and speeding towards the sound.
The distance of thirty to forty kilometers posed no challenge to the current Wang Zhan.
Swiftly treading on air, amidst a series of sonic booms, Wang Zhan reached the source of the roar in less than a minute.
Looking down, he saw a Demon Flame Brown Bear, its entire body engulfed in fierce flames. The bear, around five meters tall, opened its massive, bloody maw and extravagantly waved its claws in the air, as if declaring its sovereignty and territory.
A Demon Flame Brown Bear? A royal-level beast?
With a smirk, Wang Zhan thought that his combat power was comparable to a royal-level beast. Using this Demon Flame Brown Bear for practice wouldn’t be a bad idea.
With that thought, Wang Zhan wasted no more time and plunged straight towards the Demon Flame Brown Bear.
Feeling the vibrations from above as Wang Zhan approached, the Demon Flame Brown Bear’s blazing red eyes instantly locked onto him. Roaring, it swung its massive, flaming claw overhead.
"Bring it on!" Wang Zhan roared, meeting the attack with a fierce punch.
HUMMM...
The wind from his fist whistled.
Scorching heat waves surged.
Just as his fist was about to connect, Wang Zhan suddenly felt a dark flash surge up his arm. His arm’s toughness seemed to be amplified four to five times instantaneously!
BANG!
He hadn’t anticipated any pain from the hard collision, but there was none; only a slight numbness, which Wang Zhan found quite unbelievable!
"Dark Energy +1"
Wait! Dark Energy increased by one point? Could it be that streak of dark light just now? Wang Zhan was stunned for a moment, then quickly made the connection.
Almost instantly, he figured out what Dark Energy was.
It might be somewhat similar to Physique, in that it increases body strength. However, unlike Physique, which relies on tempering the body to increase power, Dark Energy is different. It seems more like an enigmatic energy that wraps around the body at crucial moments, boosting its fighting capabilities and mobility to terrifying levels!
"AWOOO!"
Before Wang Zhan could get excited, the Demon Flame Brown Bear opened its mouth wide and let out a pain-filled howl that echoed through the sky.
Damn it! He couldn’t help but swear internally as he looked down. The Demon Flame Brown Bear’s paw, which had just clashed with his fist, was bent at a grotesque angle.
Isn’t this a bit too terrifying? The Dark Energy that just appeared has such a horrifying effect. What would happen if its value reached one hundred? Or one thousand? Wang Zhan hardly dared to imagine the potential improvement in his future strength.
A wide, excited grin spread across Wang Zhan’s face as he looked at the Demon Flame Brown Bear. "I’ve decided it’s you!"
In a flash, Wang Zhan landed and engaged the Demon Flame Brown Bear in frenzied close combat.
Sonic booms!
Energy blasts!
Continuous explosions, like fireworks, echoed throughout Quan State City.
BOOM!
About twenty to thirty minutes later, the Demon Flame Brown Bear thudded to the ground. After twitching a couple of times, its enormous body completely lost all signs of life.
After finishing off the Demon Flame Brown Bear, Wang Zhan chuckled and quickly opened his attribute panel.
Host: Wang Zhan
Dark Energy: 8
Origin Point: 2 (2/2,000++)
Essence Energy: 14,000++
Limit: 0
Strength: 15,020
Physique: 15,022
Charm: 960
Wisdom: 2,500
Mental Power: 44,999++
Although the increase in Strength and Physique wasn’t particularly significant, raising Dark Energy from one to eight was quite satisfying.
After quickly dealing with the Demon Flame Brown Bear’s remains, Wang Zhan’s senses swept around. He detected many beasts stealthily approaching his position. Not daring to dawdle, he planted his feet firmly on the ground, then shot into the air and rushed back to the Old Man’s hiding place.
After entering and briefly greeting the Old Man, Wang Zhan sat down cross-legged and began analyzing his battle with the Demon Flame Brown Bear.
Although his body was currently severely injured, with considerable damage to his meridians, the sudden appearance of Dark Energy had given him an even greater surprise. There were huge gaps between humans and beasts in many aspects, but it was racial Talent that truly created such a one-sided disparity. Beasts possessed inherently mighty Physiques. Although humans could achieve similar levels through training, the effort and time required were hundreds of times greater than what beasts needed. But now, things were different. The emergence of Dark Energy was like opening a new door—a fast track that could quickly close the Physique gap between humans and beasts. Take the recent battle, for example. In his previous state, even if he couldn’t unleash his full power, he might have been able to kill the Demon Flame Brown Bear, but he definitely would have sustained significant injuries. Yet, with the boost from Dark Energy, he had managed it almost unharmed!
What left Wang Zhan somewhat dissatisfied was that throughout today’s battle, he hadn’t been in control of the Dark Energy. Instead, it had mysteriously appeared to assist him. This inability to control it left him feeling a pressing sense of frustration.
He stretched out his hand and rubbed his temples. The top priority for the next few days is to increase my Dark Energy! And I need to figure out how to use it properly!
And so, for the next few days, Wang Zhan left early every morning, ceaselessly seeking out royal-level beasts within Quan State City to battle.
He hoped to find the correct way to use Dark Energy through constant combat and refinement.
After killing a Sky Eagle, Wang Zhan collapsed on the ground, feeling utterly dejected.
"What’s going on?" he muttered in frustration. "Is this Dark Energy cursed or something?!"
Wang Zhan was truly exasperated!
After ten days of continuous battles, his various stats had reached the peak for a fourth-tier Martial General, with no room for further improvement. His Dark Energy had even reached sixty. Yet, he still hadn’t figured out how to use it; he hadn’t even found a single clue.
"Am I insulting my own 2,600 points of Wisdom here?" he grumbled.
At this point, Wang Zhan was even starting to doubt if the data provided by the System was unreliable.
"Yo, kid, what’s got you down? You’re looking all glum. Something’s not right!"
Just when Wang Zhan was feeling frustrated, the Old Man suddenly appeared behind him, observing him with a mischievous grin.
Wang Zhan couldn’t be bothered to respond to the Old Man’s teasing and just pursed his lips. "None of your business!" he retorted.
For some reason, seeing Wang Zhan so vexed seemed to amuse the Old Man immensely. He burst out laughing. "Come on, kid, tell me about it. Who knows, I might actually be able to help you with a few things!"
"Help me?" Wang Zhan looked up, glancing skeptically at the Old Man. "Even if I tell you, could you actually solve it?"
"Alright, then listen to this," Wang Zhan continued, deciding to lay it out. "It seems like a strange energy has suddenly appeared inside my body. It can cover my body, increasing its strength and significantly boosting my power. But I can’t wield this power flexibly; I can only use it passively. So, you tell me, what should I do?"
The Old Man nodded, a look of mock understanding dawning on his face. "Oh! So that’s the problem! You should have said so earlier!"
