“Charging is complete. Well, then… goodbye, Angel from Zero City and… Angel Killer!”

Gaza laughed loudly. The light radiating from the magic crystal on his mech’s right arm had reached the peak.

The ‘virus’ that he planted in the Thunderstorm Tank had disrupted Tian Lie’s skill. However, just like how a human body possessed an immune system, Tian Lie will surely not stay in this afflicted state forever.

Left alone, Tian Lie will gradually recover.

The distance between the two and the refraction caused by the air had weakened the power of the incoming beam considerably, but… the beam just happened to strike the magic crystal that was brimming with power.

Like a fully-inflated balloon stabbed by a needle, the power accumulated inside the magic crystal abruptly erupted, blowing up the Magic Mech’s right arm.

Gaza screamed in pain as the explosion threw the Magic Mech onto the ground. The magic crystal on its right arm was no more. Even half of its right forearm had disappeared in the explosion. All that was left there were fragments of armour while organic tissue hung down from it.

Although the Magic Mech was called a mech, when piloted, the pilot would be completely synchronized with the interior of the Magic Mech, connecting all of the pilot’s sensory nerves with that of the Magic Mech. Thus, when piloting, the arms of the mech was the equivalent to the arms of the pilot.

While racked by the pain of having his right arm blown off, Gaza did not forget to see where the beam came from.

There, in the direction where the beam had come from, a dot of light had appeared and was quickly rushing towards their position.

The light was clearly from flames ejected from a thruster.

“Damn it! To think that you were hiding reinforcements!” Gaza propped his mech up. Even before it was able to stand up, it had raised its left hand to aim at Tian Lie again. The magic crystal on the left hand condensed a beam of light, which blasted Tian Lie’s body.

“Stop him!”

Tian Lie had always acted alone. Even back when he was in Thorned Flower Guild, he would never – as an Inspector – work alongside his other team members. The fact that he was working with an Angel from Zero City here was already surprising enough for Gaza.

Unexpectedly, reinforcements would suddenly appear at that very moment. Moreover, the other party had so accurately struck and destroy the fully-charged magic crystal.

If that beam of light had come just half a second later, the fully-charged magic crystal would have unleashed an attack that could utterly obliterate both Tian Lie and the Angel, leaving not a single scrap behind.

Or perhaps, if the attack had deviated by just half an inch, missing the fully-charged magic crystal, it would have amounted to nothing more than a tickle for the Magic Mech.

At present, however, Gaza had no time for regrets. He did not know who was coming to save Tian Lie, what skill they possessed and how strong they were. Thus, his priority now was to first kill off Tian Lie.

Nicole happened to be right beside Tian Lie. Although she did not take the full brunt of the explosion, she was still affected by the shockwaves. Her body hurtled through the air before smashing onto the ground.

The Floating mech armour on her was already badly damaged to begin with. With that, it became even worse. A mouthful of blood sprayed out from Nicole’s mouth.

As for Tian Lie, the attack from the Magic Mech – even though it was not a fully-charged attack capable of instantly killing him off – left quite a big hole on his stomach.

The Magic Mech’s left hand condensed out yet another halo of light.

Tian Lie’s body was still regenerating itself. However, due to the influence of the virus, his rate of recovery had become tens of times slower than before. If this bombardment was allowed to continue, it was just a matter of time before not even a single cell remained.

“Who?!”

The Magic Mech had only just finished condensing its second halo and was about to fire it when Gaza suddenly shouted. At the same time, the mech promptly dashed backwards.

Two blades of light suddenly appeared, appearing at the very spot that Gaza had been standing on earlier.

Thankfully for Gaza, he had taken a step back. Due to that, the blades of light did not completely cut him. Even so, the attacks did leave two shallow blade marks on the surface of the Magic Mech.

Gaza, who had just avoided the two attacks, aimed the mech’s left hand at the ground. The halo of light struck the ground before swiftly spreading outwards.

A phantom silhouette jumped to avoid the halo spreading across the ground, but doing so revealed its figure.

It was a young girl with short bob hair. There were still hints of childish features on her face.

Qimu Xi.

So fast!

Gaza's heart grew tense.

It had only been ten or so seconds since the beam was fired out earlier. Surprisingly, this girl could so quickly cover such a great distance. This level of speed was simply terrifying.

It wasn’t just the speed. Her stealth skill was also at an extremely advanced level. Of the tens of his team members who were around him, not a single one had managed to notice her.

A series of explosions erupted all around them simultaneously and several of Gaza’s team members were instantly engulfed by the flames.

As for the light from the thruster, it had already covered one third of the distance between them.

“Cover! Find cover!”

The other members of Thorned Flower Guild responded quickly and they began looking for cover. Some hid behind the Thunderstorm Tank and some utilized defensive skills.

Qimu Xi, on the other hand, brandished two short swords to entangle Gaza.

Although her short swords could not inflict any serious damage upon the Magic Mech’s thick armoured parts, she was too fast. Every attack would accurately cut the mech’s organic tissues.

Due to her entanglement, Gaza could not find the time to shoot Tian Lie. Whenever he tried to condense an attack, the short swords would swing towards the magic crystal.

“If so… you die first!”

Gaza growled and a pair of short wings spread out behind the Magic Mech. Its thrusters then propelled it up into the sky.

Qimu Xi had no flight-type skill or long-ranged attacks. Seeing the Magic Mech fly up into the sky, she promptly stopped attacking it and instead – like a ghost – rushed towards another member of Thorned Flower Guild who was closest to Nicole and Tian Lie.

Once again, Gaza condensed a beam attack with his left arm. He aimed it at Qimu Xi, but before he could open fire, he saw a high number of small flying objects flying towards him from far below.

“Damn it!”

Gaza had no choice but to once again give up on his target. His left arm swung and a beam swept out. Struck by the beam of light, the small flying objects instantly exploded in the sky.

“Homing missiles?” Gaza’s heart tensed again. It would appear that the enemy they had to face this time was a complete team.

Looking at the explosions, the individual explosive power of the homing missiles was not that great. However, there were too many of them. Getting hit by those missiles would not be a walk in the park.

A familiar humming sound caught his attention. Next, tens of combat drones accompanied a high-temperature thermal beam in simultaneously attacking the Tidal Fighter that was parked on the ground.

Shockingly, the source of those attacks was… another Tidal Fighter.

They are the remnants of Zero City!

The thought instantly popped into Gaza’s mind, even as his heart ached.

Just a single vanilla Tidal Fighter required 10,000 points. Not to mention, there were also the various weapons, equipment and combat drones installed in it. Even though Thorned Flower Guild was a big guild, losing an expensive weapon like the Tidal Fighter so easily was quite painful.

Aside from the few big Player guilds, the only other party that could possess a high-end weapon like the Tidal Fighter were the resident guilds of Zero City.

Gaza himself had participated in the battle that destroyed Zero City. Naturally, he knew that a good number of the residents of Zero City had managed to evacuate in the end. At present, their whereabouts were unknown.

Could it be… they have re-appeared in this instance dungeon?!
