Game World's Awakening-Chapter 202: A thousand-year-old torrential rain
Elliot looked at the window to the side. The sudden clouds surprised him. It looked like a storm was coming. One of those storms that ravaged entire cities and kingdoms.
In the distance, the moon, the stars, and nothing else could be seen. A sinister and strangely dangerous darkness enveloped the sky above Loen City.
He looked back at those in front of him.
To tell the truth, there weren't many.
Jenna, Andrew, Chris, Rich, Steward.
No one else was here, not even the second master of the guild, nor Joferth, nor the Thoran Twins.
Just the people he considered trustworthy enough.
They looked at him with a strange shock in their eyes.
"What you want is something that will surely kill you," Chris said suddenly, causing Rich to nod several times.
"It's the Clarks, you know? They're pretty powerful. Although we've all gotten stronger lately, I don't think we're strong enough to destroy a group as deeply rooted as that one," Rich said.
Elliot smiled.
"I'm not looking for your help; I just want to tell you this to say goodbye. You may not see me again, as I don't know if I can complete my mission. If I do, I'll probably run away. If I don't, then I'll just die. That's why I intend to leave Angelic Wave. This could cause you a big problem." He looked at Steward.
"I know very well that you know exactly what I've been doing these past few months. To tell you the truth, I can control my thirst for revenge, but I don't know for how long. Every night, I have trouble sleeping, but once I fall asleep, I only dream about taking appropriate revenge on all my enemies. Many are involved, and they are all gathered at the Clark mansion. If I don't act now, I'll never be able to do it. I hope you can understand me."
"I owe the guild a lot, so I'll leave you the money I owe you and sever my ties with you."
Steward stared at him and then looked at Jenna.
"What will you do with Jenna?" he asked.
"I..."
"Obviously, I'll go," Jenna said, looking at Steward. "Why the question? I don't intend to let Elliot go to that place alone. I once promised him I would help him get revenge," she replied firmly.
Steward smiled and looked at Andrew. "And Andrew wants to go too, right? You stayed all this time just to help them gain enough status so they could leave as kings to the Kingdom," he said.
Andrew shrugged and took out his hammer. "I never abandon my brothers. So, of course, I'll go with him."
Steward shook his head. "The three most talented people we've gathered for so long want to terminate the contract after just a few months... This will cost you a lot of money, you know? Where are you going to get it?"
Andrew smiled and took out a Level 5 weapon to give to him. "A Level 5 sword with ice magic attributes is very rare. It should be enough to pay for it," he said.
Steward stared at him. "Are you absolutely sure?" he asked.
To prove his confidence, Andrew placed the sword in his hand. "I've never been so sure."
Steward looked at the sword. It was a very good sword.
But just then, Elliot intervened.
"You don't have to do that. Andrew, since we arrived, you should have already left for the kingdom, so you don't need to..."
"I've never met anyone who truly offered me sincere friendship, Elliot. The same goes for Jenna. You don't see me as the blacksmith I am or the blacksmith my father was, and that's what matters to me." He stared at him intently.
"My father once created a kingdom for his best friend. What is completing revenge for mine, when it's only against a small family? I'm not very good with words, but I'll go with you. Don't worry, I'm tougher than you think."
Elliot stared at him, but didn't know what to say. He looked at Jenna... Her position was more understandable. Once she had decided to accompany him in a suicidal situation, rather than saving herself, putting herself at risk for him was only natural for her.
He sighed.
"If you three are going..." Chris spoke up. "Then so am I. The youngest group the Leveled Leagues has ever had can't just split up so easily, you know?"
"Haha, Chris is absolutely right. Since we just won, let's give the Clarks a nice little gift. Good timing, since I couldn't fight them this time. My hands are burning."
Elliot frowned and looked at them.
This wasn't right.
"Hahaha, so all five of you are going, huh?" Steward laughed at first, but he actually looked a little annoyed.
Even so, he kept Andrew's sword. "If you die, I will send this to the Ancestor. I'm sure he will be glad that his favorite godson was so talented," he said and turned away.
"Go, you don't need to pay anything. Angelic Wave will support you from the shadows. But if you do not pay the debts you owe my kingdom after this, I will search for you to the ends of the earth to make your lives miserable. Hurry, before I change my mind," he said.
He didn't even wait for them to respond before leaving.
Elliot didn't know what to do but knew time was running out.
"If you really want to follow me, then I won't stop you. This mission will not fail, so you shouldn't feel too anxious. I just didn't want to cause trouble for the guild," he said, tearing off his Angelic Wave clothes so as not to reveal his origin.
Jenna did the same.
They were both wearing different clothes underneath, ready for battle.
Andrew simply put on another outfit, while Chris and Rich tore off anything that identified them as members of the Angelic Wave.
Finally, they went out into the city.
"Mr. Ilsen, it's time to get moving. I'll attack the Clark Family headquarters in 30 minutes," Elliot said, calling him on the phone.
"Haha, no problem, young sir. My men are in position and will receive the order to attack as soon as this call ends," he said, and after pausing for a moment, he spoke again.
"The Secretary of Government is also a member of the Clark family, and all his crimes have been revealed to the court. He is being prosecuted for rape, kidnapping, murder, and grave robbery. In approximately three hours, he will be sought by the Royal Guards stationed in the city and by a Royal Executioner who arrived yesterday. So you must kill him first, so that it will be believed to be a mass suicide or a battle of interests."
"Good. Then it's time to begin."
"Be careful, young sir."
With the call ending, Elliot, jumping across the rooftops with the rest behind him, dialed Jeff's number.
"Tell them it's time to mobilize with force."
"There are 5,000 Misfits. Organizing them will take me a while, but I already have the men you entrusted me with ready. Should I mobilize them as well?"
"Yes. Listen carefully, Jeff. More than $300 million has been invested in this. I'll hold you responsible if the Misfits don't move well and create enough chaos. Meet me at the Clark mansion in 45 minutes." After that, he hung up and dialed Black Leather's number.
"It's time."
"Perfect, Young Master. I'll just tell you one thing. I discovered movements of several people of very high rank in the city," he said.
Elliot immediately remembered that God. But he didn't think that was who he was referring to.
"Saints?"
"Possibly. At least four. They arrived anonymously. I don't know what they're doing, but they're very powerful."
'If he could discover them, it's because they wanted him to give this information. I don't know if they managed to track me down and track that I work with him, but...' He looked ahead. 'For now, they won't stop me.'
"I understand. Take care of yourself and do what I told you," he replied.
Finally, he grabbed the cell phone and smashed it into pieces, scattering its parts across the roofs of many houses in the city.
"Let's run. The chaos will begin soon," he said, quickening his pace.
At that moment, the first drops of rain touched his skin and slowly began to fall, more and more...
Jenna followed closely behind him, Andrew a little further back, and then Chris and Rich.
--
Inside the Clark Mansion, everyone bowed their heads as a man in a strange suit and an ancient robe appeared.
"A downpour of the magnitude that will fall in a few minutes has not been seen in these lands since our master faced that bastard Lee, thief of treasures," said the man in the robe, looking out the window.
He had been insulting all these bastards and wanted to kill them.
But he couldn't do it.
"Do you know why you're alive, all you useless bastards?" he asked, looking at them sideways.
His eyes were red as blood, but his ears were pointed, revealing his elven race.
"B-because of the lord's benevolence..." said one of them, whose name was unknown, as his head was pressed against the floor, like everyone else's.
"Benevolence? Our Lord rewards completed missions. He rewards blood obtained. Anything that involves his return, he will reward. But you..."
"Mistake after mistake. We lost important people. We lost important allies within the court. We lost information. We lost corpses. We lost blood. We lost tournaments..."
"What the hell kind of benevolence are you talking about?" he said, giving in to his rage. His foot soon pressed down on the back of the one who gave that answer and slammed him to the ground.
"Huh? You think you deserve my benevolence, you useless bastards?!"
