Game World's Awakening-Chapter 195: Perhaps a golden age is approaching for the region
"Andrew?!" Elliot immediately turned around to see what had happened. He was overwhelmed by both tanks.
And the moment he saw them, they slammed their two shields together. This created an oppressive force from them toward the front, which struck fiercely toward Elliot and Jenna.
This oppressive force almost took their breath away.
It was a tank skill.
No.
That blow...
It was a combination of tank skills.
'So they have the ability to combine their skills? That's not common!' Even though Elliot had studied this guild extensively, it was the first time he had seen them use that kind of attack.
It's like the saying goes. In adversity and later stages, every guild has aces capable of changing the game.
Right now, they were witnessing it.
Not only was taking Andrew out of the game a difficult feat to accomplish in such a short time, but they also had the opportunity to take out others if they took advantage of this slight advantage they had gained.
Certainly, the members of the powerful guilds are all dangerous.
But they did not attack Elliot and Jenna because they knew they could not defeat them. Elliot still has his summons, and Jenna is very close to him. In addition, the giant he had suddenly summoned had knocked out one of their mages, so they needed to rescue the other.
Therefore, they focused all their forces on the twins.
They were in a difficult situation because they had received so many attacks, but they did not let themselves be overwhelmed by the tanks' abilities. They were far away, so they were able to counter them to a certain extent.
Even so, they were wounded and held back long enough for the Illusion Mage to recover.
He immediately jumped into battle and assisted his companions, striking one of the twins in the back, putting him into an illusion.
But doing so meant that the other twin hit him, causing the mage to fly backwards again, until he was impaled on a nearby tree.
"Bastard!" One of the tanks roared in front and tried to hit the twin, who was not affected by an illusion, with his shield.
But the shield simply pulverized one of Elliot's summons.
'Shit. I forgot.' He quickly turned around and defended himself from an attack by the basilisk, but they were surrounded.
In no time, they were rammed by all of Elliot's summons and by Elliot and Jenna.
They were powerful tanks, and even though they were surrounded, they managed to kill some of Elliot's summons. But they ended up flying and hitting some distant trees.
Although one of the tanks tried to stand up, the basilisk jumped on it and crushed it to the ground.
It wasn't dead, but it was badly injured.
The swordsman couldn't get up anymore. Neither could the two mages.
One of the best teams had fallen.
The announcement of Angelic Wave's victory was not long in coming.
Even so, Angelic Wave was not as good as their fans would have hoped.
One of the twins was still trapped in the illusion. His eyes were empty to the naked eye, and he did not move, although he was alive.
Meanwhile, the other one vomited blood. He was the one who had taken the direct damage from that snake-like fire attack and other attacks from the tanks.
It was the first time they had encountered a duo that could stand up to them, unlike Elliot and Jenna.
They had to look at that pair of tanks with admiration.
Elliot and Jenna weren't unscathed either, but they were both in the best condition. And it makes sense.
They weren't the protagonists today.
Although Elliot was crucial to winning the battle, the twins deserved the credit for being the protagonists. In addition to those tanks, almost the entire fight revolved around them. They were incredible.
They ran to help Andrew, but he was unconscious.
"Unbelievable. Breaking Andrew's bones is easier said than done," Elliot said.
One of the enemy tanks had already gotten up, although it couldn't continue the battle. It also helped its comrades and smiled at Elliot when he said that.
"He's the toughest guy we've ever faced," he said. "Our shield is Rank B, but that guy's hammer still managed to dent it. I'm afraid you have a beast there. My bones were creaking when we were facing him, and we would have lost if there weren't two of us."
Elliot smiled at him and also assisted the other team. They were more injured than they were.
"That was a combined skill, right?" he asked.
"Yes. We both have very similar skills."
"Are you family?"
"No, just friends. We met in class. I guess the universe just wanted to create a peculiar couple, huh? Haha." Even though laughing hurt his ribs, he couldn't stop.
And Elliot admired that attitude of his. It was the first time that a rival guild, which they had just defeated, had behaved so friendly.
"Only two guilds were undefeated, and today one has fallen. In a week, I'll come to support that one undefeated guild. I wish you good luck, Lord of the Field. Today, you showed me why they give you that nickname." He smiled at him.
"Well, I hope we don't disappoint. Jenna and I would like to try your combination again if we can face each other again. So don't fall too far behind."
The tank raised his fist toward him. "You can count on it. We'll beat you next time," he said.
Elliot bumped fists with him. "Try to live up to that statement. I'll be waiting for you."
The technical staff of each team came to pick them up shortly after, and each went their separate ways.
For Angelic Wave, there was only admiration for Zargo Academy.
Among the powerful, they are the only ones without foreigners from the big cities. They are all talent from the Coastal Cities that they have managed to harness and exploit.
This generation looked much better than the previous 4 or 5 generations.
In fact, in Tyler's generation, only he and a couple of others managed to stand out.
It was almost the same in every generation, which had caused the Coastal Cities to be looked down upon for some time.
Even in SkyDome's, although many stood out, only SkyDome managed to rise above levels that were impossible for the region.
But this time it seemed to be different. Every guild, except for most of Loen and the House of Fire, which were using many foreigners, seemed to be getting stronger. 𝚏𝐫𝚎𝗲𝕨𝐞𝐛𝕟𝚘𝐯𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝗺
They were barely 20 years old, but many of them were as strong as the leaders of Loen (the weakest of the coastal cities at present).
That's why they could see that a good era was approaching the region.
Not to mention Angelic Wave. That team seemed like a dream team. Each member excelled tremendously in their specialty, and even though they made mistakes, they still managed to pull through because they always had something extra to give.
That was amazing.
'A golden age is truly approaching this place,' thought Steward, looking at his boys.
He hoped that everyone would be able to see that golden age, because even Chris and Rich stood out in one way or another, although they were being overshadowed by the top five.
But Chris and Rich are supposed to be foreigners, so it doesn't matter much in this context.
With the end of the first match producing an undefeated winner, the afternoon match soon arrived.
The Clark Group vs. The House of Fire.
A match that promised to be amazing and revealed who Angelic Wave's opponent would be next week.
The match started off quite well, with a lot of tension in the air. Unlike the first match of the day, this one was developing slowly.
They used different strategies, so it was believed that it would be a tactical battle, the kind that few people see because they are boring.
But... suddenly, a frontal battle broke out, and the Clark Group won.
It seemed as if the House of Fire didn't even fight. What the hell had happened?
"They gave the fight away," said Steward, with a mocking tone.
Elliot nodded. "They can't let the Clarks wear themselves out; they're their last hope of winning the tournament."
"Why do you say that?" Steward turned, curious. Not just him, everyone did.
"Haha, look at this and don't tell anyone. You'll understand then," he said and handed him a document, which Steward read slowly.
His eyes lit up, and he nodded. "I see. That's why you used that strategy against the Academy," he said, finally understanding.
"Yes. That's why I knew today's match would be something like this. In reality, they're just looking to make a lot of money from betting, and they're succeeding. I'm afraid that after this tournament, the Clark Group will be able to pay off their debts completely," Elliot replied.
'Well, if they get the chance,' he thought, smiling softly.
"Tsk. Those bastards are always causing trouble." Steward turned off the TV and looked at everyone.
"You'll have a week off, so enjoy it, but train hard. Foreigners from dangerous places have reinforced the Clarks, so don't get complacent. They're more dangerous than the Zargo Academy. So you have to work hard. I'll be doing various things, so you won't see much of me these days," he said.
