Game World's Awakening-Chapter 193: Shock… again.
Knock*
Knock*
Knock*
The sound of the door knocked Steward out of his thoughts. He quickly put away the documents he was reviewing.
"Come in."
Three teachers entered.
"Mr. Steward, something urgent has happened," they said. They sounded a little exasperated as they spoke.
He frowned. He knew these teachers were teaching Elliot and Jenna today, so he feared something terrible had happened.
"What is it? Did something happen to Elliot or Jenna?"
"Nothing bad, sir. But..." One of them tried to speak and give him the information, but when he tried to do so, he didn't know how to say it.
Another had to step forward to say it. "Sir, the thing is... it's just that..." He didn't know how to say it either.
It was simple. But not that simple. What if they were daydreaming a moment ago? Or were they caught up in some illusion?
Suddenly, they became concerned about Elliot and Jenna... they rushed here to inform Steward, but why didn't they consider that it could have been an illusion? What if they are now in mortal danger because of them?
Damn...
"What is it? Why the hell are you all stuttering like idiots?" Steward stood up and slammed his fist on the table.
Finally, the third one spoke up.
"Sir, the thing is, we saw Elliot use magic. He created a fireball twice in his hand!"
Steward stared at him for two minutes before shaking his head. "Huh? What did you just say?" he asked.
Honestly, he hadn't heard. And if he had, he had forgotten.
"That Elliot just used magic. Fire magic!"
"He created two fireballs!"
This time, the first two to speak joined in to repeat it.
Steward was stunned again for several minutes.
He didn't hesitate to sit back down and look at them, this time with a hint of mockery in his eyes.
"Are you playing with me and want me to believe you? Are you idiots?"
"Huh?" They scratched their heads, confused. "Sir, we're being honest..."
"Honest, my ass!" he shouted. "Have you ever seen a summoner casting fire spells without relying on an external object?" He was angry.
"S-sir, we've never seen a summoner before," they said.
Steward was perplexed. They were right.
He then rephrased the question. "Cough, well, have you ever seen a swordsman casting spells before?"
"Y-y-yes, sir... a magical swordsman..."
BANG*
The bang on the table startled them as Steward stood up. "Do you think I'm playing games with you, you bastards?"
They immediately bowed their heads. "We're sorry."
"Hmph." He returned to his seat, calm. "He probably used some special item for that. He wanted to play a joke on you, I'm sure. In poor taste, I must say, because if someone powerful saw it, they could kill him. But I've heard of summoners who can do it, so don't be too surprised. It requires a lot of energy to activate and so on. It's not very useful in battle," he said.
The three teachers finally understood.
"I see... he also told us that was why, but we didn't understand that he was trying to trick us." Suddenly, a great weight lifted from their hearts, and they smiled.
Steward looked at them. "What did he tell you?" he asked, curious.
"He took out an item he recently obtained from a monster and told us that it might have caused it. It's a special treasure."
"Oh." He nodded. "For a young man, he knows more than all of you. Shame on you, shouldn't it? Why don't you go to the library and read more books? Your contracts are expensive, and you know nothing!"
The three trembled and bowed deeply. "We're sorry, Mr. Steward!"
"We will go study immediately!"
"Forgive us!"
Steward simply waved his hand for them to leave. "If you bother me again with nonsense like this, I will expel you from the guild," he said, looking at the document on his desk before muttering.
"Tsk, these bastards bother me at such important moments."
The three teachers left, their bodies trembling from head to toe. Fear prevented them from running properly.
When the door closed...
Steward raised one of his eyes and ensured no one else was there.
Then...
He ran out the back door!
On the other side was the second master of the guild, who had heard him earlier.
"Steward, what the hell were you yelling about? What happened w...?" He couldn't even finish his words before Steward rushed past him at full speed.
The Second Master was completely stunned. "Where is this guy going? What the hell happened this time? He didn't even listen to me. How disrespectful he has become,"
Then he return to his work.
Meanwhile, Steward went down the fire escape stairs, ran to the basement, and from the basement ran to the building across the street.
He climbed the stairs and was soon knocking on Elliot's apartment door.
Elliot quickly opened the door and looked at Steward, who was completely out of breath, staring at him. After checking that only Jenna was in the room, he immediately ran inside and looked at him.
"I-Is it true that you could use magic?" he asked.
He wouldn't bother asking if it were just any summoner.
But it was Elliot.
The laws of the System didn't bind that guy.
He was a complete anomaly, whom the system couldn't hold back!
For him, it was entirely possible to use magic!
At least that's what he thought.
"Did the teachers tell you already? That was fast."
"Don't worry about them. I convinced them that wasn't the case, and I'll send people to watch them day and night. If they're suspicious, I'll kill them. Now, is it true that you did it? Can you show me?" he asked, exasperated.
Elliot nodded and grabbed the book he had been studying earlier. He hadn't learned the magic pattern yet, so he needed to do it by eye.
Then he went through the procedures again, and a ball of fire appeared floating in his hand after a few minutes.
Steward stared at that ball of fire. Thousands of questions and doubts crossed his mind in an instant. He was in shock.
The man in front of him couldn't be anything small.
He must be some kind of Monarch.
Something that rules over everything.
'He has no restrictions,' he thought.
"Can you do anything else?" he asked.
"I don't know. It's possible. Today was my first time seeing such detailed explanations about formulating magical patterns with energy."
"Your first time? You're a monster, in a good way," he said, smiling a little.
"Haha, I must thank you for the compliment, Mr. Steward. And I must also ask you for a magic teacher, I would like to learn."
"Haha, you'll get it, you'll get it when you go to the main branch. As long as you're here, you're forbidden to use magic, do you hear me?" He warned him.
It was the first time Elliot had received such a warning from him, but he nodded.
"I understand, Mr. Steward. Don't worry."
"All right, then. I'll leave you to it. Don't do anything stupid tonight, you've got a game tomorrow," he said before leaving.
He returned to his room covertly so that no one would see him, and when he returned, he sat down at his desk again.
He looked at the ceiling. He looked at the desk. He looked at his cell phone and looked at the floor.
For a moment, he didn't know what to do.
But after thinking about it for a while, he dialed a phone number...
On the other end of that phone, Charles looked suspiciously at his cell phone ringing.
"What the hell is going on now?"
While one seemed afraid to call, the other seemed afraid to answer.
Lately, every call from Steward was to say something ridiculous, but it was real.
Charles answered, but for three full minutes, no sound came from either side.
They both remained silent for a long time. It seemed that Steward had only called him to calm himself down.
But Charles wasn't going to get his hopes up like that.
Now he was more certain than before that he would tell him something amazing, and he didn't know if he wanted to hear it.
'What if I hang up and leave all the weight on him? I could try to go on vacation for a while, until the Leveled Leagues are over,' Charles considered.
It was a good plan.
But he wouldn't follow through with it. He wasn't so inconsiderate as to leave all that weight on his weakest subordinate.
After three minutes of silence, Charles gathered his courage and spoke.
"What is it this time?" he asked.
He wanted to make a joke and assume some impossible things, but he didn't for fear of hearing, "Yes, one of those three can do it."
Steward finally snapped out of his trance when he heard him. He hadn't realized that he had been answered.
"Sir. It's about Elliot."
"Him again..." Charles sighed.
Being the most difficult to deal with, it would naturally be something about him.
"What is it?" he asked.
"He can use magic," he said clearly. "He created a fireball several times. Even in front of me."
He didn't add anything else, no suspense or anything. He just blurted it out.
He could have said something like, "There's a high probability that he can use magic."
There were so many things he could have said, but he chose the shortest and also the most problematic.
He left no room for consideration or theories.
Naturally... Charles was left speechless.
After more than five minutes of silence, processing the information, he smiled heavily.
"It looks like Grandpa will have more company these days," he said, smiling strangely.
