Future Beast World: Becoming A Pampered Beauty-Chapter 358 - 297: Don’t Tell Me She’s Pregnant?
The tide receded, and all grew calm.
After his bath, Si Ye held Sang Luo and drowsily drifted off to sleep.
He lay on his side, his back slightly arched. His arms were wrapped under hers, and he had manifested his long, scaly tail, curling it until its tip touched its base. From afar, it formed a perfect "0".
It was less a hug and more an encirclement, as if he were enclosing the female entirely within his territory—a deeply possessive gesture.
When Sang Luo woke, the sky outside was already bright. She was held tightly by the man, and the air she breathed, filled with his hot, heavy breath, felt suffocating.
Sang Luo gave Si Ye a gentle nudge, but he only held her tighter. When she felt his body’s reaction, she blushed and pinched his waist lightly, complaining playfully, "I’m hungry!"
Si Ye reluctantly opened his eyes. He gave her a quick kiss on the face before getting out of bed to prepare some food.
There wasn’t a great variety of food on the cargo ship. With plenty of aquatic Beastmen aboard, they usually just dived into the sea to catch fresh ingredients. The drunken crab Si Ye had marinated a couple of days ago tasted quite good; after her meal, Sang Luo ate several, finding them exquisitely savory.
Seeing she wasn’t full yet, Si Ye steamed a large pot of poached shrimp and prepared two freshly caught fish. Sang Luo ate it all without being the least bit picky, yet she still looked as if she could eat more.
Si Ye asked, a little taken aback, "Luoluo, has your appetite been growing lately?"
"It’s been fine. I’ve just had a good appetite lately."
Si Ye glanced down at her flat stomach, hesitating. "You don’t think... you’re pregnant, do you?"
The piece of shrimp in Sang Luo’s hand nearly fell to the floor. "That can’t be it!"
Her appetite was definitely stronger than before, but she was only eating normal food, not Beast Crystals or Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures. Those were the main things she ate during her last pregnancy.
Si Ye shook his head. "Don’t you remember? When you were carrying the two Little Phoenixes, your belly didn’t show for the first few months, but you were already pregnant! Their gestation period is just incredibly long. You were in the embryonic stage for months, and your appetite was just as good as it is now."
Sang Luo touched her stomach uncertainly. "Is there a witch doctor on the ship?"
"There are hundreds of Beastmen on this ship, so things like fevers and headaches are common. We have a witch doctor, but they only handle minor ailments. There’s no one who specializes in diagnosing pregnancies in females." A hint of worry crept into Si Ye’s eyes.
Sang Luo tried to reassure him. "It’s fine. If I really am pregnant, we’ll know sooner or later. I have plenty of Heavenly Materials and Earthly Treasures in my dimensional space, so the baby won’t go hungry."
BOOM!
Following the deafening roar, the wooden planks beneath their feet began to shake and sway violently.
The food spilled from Sang Luo’s hands, and she nearly fell, grabbing a nearby mast to steady herself. Si Ye quickly grabbed her hand, helping her regain her balance.
The Beastmen on board were all experienced sailors. They quickly regained their composure and sprang into action.
Some thought they had struck a hidden reef and rushed to the helm to change course.
But the roaring impacts grew more ferocious. Another monstrous wave crashed down!
The ropes securing the cargo on deck snapped, and vital crates began to tumble toward the sea. Fury flared in Sang Luo. A golden Domain instantly spread from her feet, catching the falling containers.
A behemoth that blotted out the sun rose from the sea, one of its tentacles smashing down toward the ship—
Si Ye teleported into mid-air, a Longsword appearing in his hand. With a single, swift arc—like a rainbow streaking across a sunset—he sliced the Sea Beast’s tentacle in two. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
The Sea Beast let out a terrifying, piercing shriek. Countless slender tentacles shot toward Si Ye like sharp blades!
Such an attack posed no threat to Si Ye; he could easily evade it. But the massive, heavy cargo ship had no time to move. If it were pierced, it would quickly sink to the seabed along with all its cargo.
Dark shadows were gathering in the water below the ship, waiting for the chance to score big!
"Don’t worry! I’ve got the ship! You go take care of the Sea Beast!" Sang Luo shouted to Si Ye.
Placing his complete trust in her to guard their rear, Si Ye charged forward without hesitation to battle the Sea Beast.
Sang Luo completely enveloped the cargo ship within her Domain. At the same time, she flew to the railing, conjured a Thunder Fire Ball in her palm, and hurled it at the dark shadows swarming below!
The flames didn’t extinguish in the water, inflicting immense damage on the fire-averse Sea Beasts.
In an instant, a great number of the Sea Beasts sank into the depths.
A few of the stronger Beastmen tried to force their way through the Domain and climb aboard to plunder, but the moment they touched its edge, any Beastman below Emperor Rank was instantly cut down by an unseen force. Their screams were deafening.
High above the water, Si Ye drove his sword through the Sea Beast’s final heart, finishing it off for good.
A tall, dashing man materialized in the empty air. He wore an indigo, straight-collared robe. His sharp eyebrows slanted up toward his temples, his features were strikingly handsome, and his lips were curled in a sinister smirk.
The man spoke. "These are my imperial waters. Paying a toll for passage isn’t too much to ask, is it?"
Si Ye did not sheathe his sword. "If I am not mistaken, you must be the Beast Emperor of the Central Sea Area, Wu Jing."
"Heh heh, the Young Master of the Bian Clan has sharp eyes." Wu Jing was all smiles, his gaze sweeping over the ship’s packed cargo with unconcealed greed.
Si Ye’s brow furrowed. "The continents are being ravaged by one disaster after another," he said coldly. "This cargo is meant for tens of thousands of victims. For the Central Sea to resort to piracy at a time like this... are you not afraid of divine retribution?"
"Disaster relief is meant to save all living things. My Central Sea Area has also been hit by recent disasters. Our victims don’t even have a mouthful of rice to eat. Why doesn’t the Young Master show some compassion, leave the cargo, and help our Central Sea as well?"
’The absolute shamelessness!’
"Don’t even think about it."
"If you don’t leave the cargo, you won’t be passing through. If the Young Master is unwilling to give it, then I don’t mind taking it myself!"
"Has the Central Sea truly fallen so low as to rob relief supplies from other continents?" Another figure, slender and elegant, appeared in the sky, his laughter dripping with sarcasm.
Wu Jing’s expression soured when he saw Lou Xianyue arrive. ’What rotten luck,’ he thought. ’Now everyone wants a piece of the pie.’
Both he and Lou Xianyue were of the True Emperor Rank. He was more than a match for Si Ye alone, but facing Lou Xianyue would be far more troublesome.
Wu Jing plastered on a smile, feigning conciliation. "The Central Sea and the South Sea have always valued harmony. Why don’t we team up, take the cargo, and split it fifty-fifty?"
"The Young Master is an honored guest of the South Sea," Lou Xianyue said. "He is also my brother-in-law. If you insist on stealing this cargo, Wu Jing, you will be provoking a conflict between the South Sea and the Central Sea. You would become a villain in the annals of the Central Sea."
Wu Jing’s face fell. He had assumed Lou Xianyue shared his intentions and had come to seize the cargo, but it turned out he was siding with the East Continent.
’Brother-in-law. It all made sense now. Regardless of their faction, a Beast Husband always put his wife first. For Beast Husbands of the same extended family, the female and her children were the linchpin, creating a bond even stronger than blood relation.’
Wu Jing’s face was livid. He was still unwilling to let such a juicy prize slip through his fingers.
Lou Xianyue smiled. "The South Sea has always been generous to its people. If the Central Sea is suffering, and its leadership so incompetent they can’t even distribute this relief aid, the South Sea wouldn’t mind taking over—"
"The Central Sea!"
