Chapter 335: Chapter 274: The "Fallen" Saint Heir

Duotu withdrew his gaze, looking lost and dejected. "I heard the Saint Heir and the Holy Consort held a ceremony a few days ago. I... I have never met the Holy Consort. I’ve brought some modest gifts this time. Might I be permitted to visit her?"

Minos replied, "The Holy Consort is shy around strangers and isn’t available to see guests. I’m afraid I’ll have to ask for her opinion on the matter."

Duotu fell silent for a moment, then gave a bitter smile.

"...I understand. I’ll come visit again when I have time."

Duotu went to the Holy Hall to carefully inquire about how to raise a child. After getting some formula specially made for Angel Clan children and some Spirit Food supplements, he took his child and left the Holy Domain, returning to the Western Continent.

Minos returned to the palace and found Sang Luo resting her head on the table, her chin propped in her hands. She seemed to be thinking about something, or perhaps just zoning out.

"Are you still thinking about him?" Minos sat down across from Sang Luo and gently tapped her on the forehead, startling her out of her daze.

"No. It’s just been so long. Seeing him so suddenly was a bit of a shock. He might have seen me." Sang Luo gathered her hands on the table and gave a cute stretch.

"The Yalan Beast King has been raising his child alone for so many years, with no one else by his side. It is somewhat pitiful." Minos’s clear, calm gaze fell upon her as he poured them each a cup of lemon black tea.

Sang Luo’s eyes widened in disbelief. "Pitiful? Wasn’t he doing just fine after I died? All the latent threats to the Empire were rooted out, his throne was secured, and he has an heir. Once he gets over it, he can even marry a beautiful new consort. He’s the ultimate winner in life. What’s there to pity about him? If I were him, I’d be waking up from happy dreams every night."

Minos was taken aback for a second, then chuckled. "That’s true."

He picked up a rose pastry with his clean, slender fingers. "Try this. See how it tastes."

Sang Luo leaned in and took a bite right from his hand. It was sweet. The rose pastry was small, finished in just a bite or two. The tip of her tongue gently brushed against his fingertips.

Minos flinched slightly, pulling his fingers back. He looked down, about to get her another rose pastry.

But Sang Luo grabbed his hand first. With a twist of her waist, she sat down on his long, firm thighs. She placed her hands on the man’s broad, perfect shoulders, looking down at his moist, beautiful lips, and whispered, "Saint Son, I want to taste something else~"

’He was her target now!’

Minos froze. He tilted his head up to look at her, a ripple disturbing his crystal-clear eyes. A faint blush quickly spread across his fair, handsome face.

But Sang Luo made no further move, only watched him with a playful smile.

Minos’s Adam’s apple bobbed. He tentatively reached a hand behind her waist and pulled her whole body forcefully into his embrace. They were pressed tightly together, separated by just a thin layer of clothing... He placed his other hand on the back of her head and kissed her.

The hand Minos had placed on the small of her back caressed her gently in time with their breathing.

It moved forward again, taking her hand.

A moment later, both of their breaths had grown ragged.

Sang Luo’s dress was suggestively wrinkled, but Minos’s ceremonial robes were even more disheveled than her dress.

Anyone who didn’t know better would have thought she was secretly bullying their Saint Heir in the hall. They would never guess that it was this pure and perfect Saint Heir who had actively taken her hand and, little by little, pulled open his own neat, immaculate holy robes.

The collar and chest were open, like unwrapping a present, revealing bit by bit his beautiful collarbones, firm chest, and skin as cool and white as jade. When he guided her hand past his lean, perfect abs down to his waist, it was Sang Luo who took the initiative to pull her hand back, her pretty face flushed with a faint blush.

’The process of pulling the Saint Heir from his divine pedestal down into the mortal dust was just too forbidden, too thrilling. Even she could barely handle it...’

Sang Luo’s gaze fell on Minos’s neck. She noticed the hickey she had given him a few days ago was still there. He clearly had the ability to make it vanish in an instant, yet he allowed this "blemish" to remain branded on his flawless body, like a mark of ownership.

Sang Luo looked at Minos’s face again.

The pure and aloof Saint Heir’s eyes were tinged with red at the corners, as if he had been thoroughly bullied. The look he gave her held a hint of dissatisfaction, as if questioning why she had stopped.

Sang Luo stared, her eyes wide, and couldn’t help but swallow.

’It seemed Minos was slowly "falling" from asceticism toward the other extreme!’

"Saint Son, Lord Ulysses Pino requests an audience."

Thankfully, the voice of a Servant came from outside the door.

Sang Luo said quickly, "Saint Son, official business is more important."

But Minos acted as if he hadn’t heard. His hand at the back of her head gently toyed with her soft, long hair, again and again.

When there was no response, the Servant at the door assumed he hadn’t been heard and asked again.

"Saint Son, Lord Ulysses Pino has been in the council hall for some time and is waiting for an audience with the Saint Son."

There wasn’t a single sound from inside the hall. The Servant hesitated, then, perhaps wanting to confirm that no one was inside, took it upon himself to open the door and enter.

When Sang Luo heard the sound of the door, she scrambled to get off him, but Minos’s hand pressed down firmly on her waist again, the dissatisfaction in his eyes deepening.

A wave of pale gold energy swept out. Instantly, time froze, then slowly reversed. The Servant walked backward out the door.

The door closed.

Only the two of them remained.

"Ahem, Your Holiness! Business! Don’t keep people waiting too long!"

"...Wait for me here. I’ll be back soon."

After clinging to Sang Luo and kissing her for another moment, Minos finally let her down. He stood up, straightened his clothes, and walked out the door.

「Meanwhile, in the Yalan Empire」

After returning to the Royal Palace, Duotu shut himself in his own palace for an entire day, refusing to even see his son.

His heart ached with a dull, intense pain. He didn’t know whether to be happy or sad.

’How could he have mistaken her?’

The next day, he went out and ordered the mausoleum to be opened.

Just as he expected, the coffin was empty. There were no human remains to be found.

He picked up the two wood carvings again. They were well protected; Hephis slept with them every night and kept them securely locked in a cabinet during the day, allowing no one to touch them.

He asked his son, "You’ve met your mother before, haven’t you?"

Hephis lowered his head uneasily, not daring to speak.

Seeing his reaction, Duotu had his answer.

’So he was the only one kept in the dark all along. The only person she never wanted to see was him.’

Half a month after they last parted, Duotu had run out of the supplies he brought back from the Holy Hall, so he brought his child to the Holy Domain once again.

Sang Luo used her spiritual power to see the father and son arriving and looked at Minos beside her.

"You allowed him to come?"

"If the Yalan Beast King wants to keep his son by his side, he has a responsibility to raise the Angel Clan’s offspring properly. He is entitled to enter the Holy Hall freely to learn how to do so."

"Oh, so that’s how it is. That explains it."

Sang Luo ate her meal nonchalantly. ’With Duotu and Hephis visiting the Holy Hall so often, a man as clever as Duotu was bound to notice something was amiss.’

’They were going to meet sooner or later anyway, so she couldn’t be bothered to hide anymore.’

After finishing her meal, Sang Luo said to Minos, who was about to leave, "I’ll go with you. I want to see him and his son."
