From Imp to Demon God: Conquering the Demon World With a Succubus-Chapter 81: Knight Captains
Myles had already come up with his knight orders of the barony. Since his followers prior to his ascension to the barony consisted of knights, he inevitably had to organize them into different orders.
All the Blood Knights were now kneeling at him with one knee, with the Knight Captain being closer to him.
He said, "Since you’ve appointed others before of your own hierarchy, do it again. This time, this squad belongs to the Order of the Grey Horizon.
You will be the first Horizon Scout."
The Knight Captain, now the first Horizon Scout, bowed deeply and exclaimed, "Your will is my command, Emperor."
Myles nodded. He said, "This order will focus on reconnaissance, skirmishing, and expansion. For now, await my orders. Also, when the Commander returns, if he questions you about me, you know what to do.
Understand?"
Not only the first Horizon Scout exclaimed, every Blood Knight swore to protect their Emperor.
"We understand, Emperor!!"
Myles said, "Alright. Now, go back to normal. Treat me like I’m your fellow Blood Knights, only if you have something to say even when the Commander is not around."
Myles didn’t want to continue role playing as an emperor when he was still far from becoming one. He has not ascended into a baron yet.
Hence, just to be careful and prevent from committing a mistake, he has to humble himself and remain as lowkey as he could.
The Blood Knights returned to their respective positions and chatted with their Emperor, as though he was not one...
...
The first Shadow Initiate arrived behind Myles, who sat in a circle position with the Blood Knight.
Myles communicated with the first Shadow Initiate in telepathy.
He inquired about the first Shadow Initiate’s information.
The first Shadow Initiate replied, "The Commanders have indeed gathered into a meeting. Also, a knight captain of the Night Templars and Brand Templars reacted when you restrained the Blood Knights.
The chances of them sensing your demonic energy was high, Emperor. What do you want us to do?"
Myles frowned. He deeply disliked the discovery.
He asked, "What do you know about them? Tell me."
The Veil Stalker kneeled with one knee as he had just realized he was now standing as a sign of disrespect to the Emperor.
He trembled. "I-I apologized, Emperor."
Myles frowned. He said, "It’s fine. I did only order the Blood Knights, but to you all.
The Veil Stalker heaved a sigh of relief and nodded.
He said, "As for your questions earlier, I know quite a lot about the Night Templars and slightly about the Brand Templars.
The Night Templars belonged to the Crown of Night Glass. Their master was the Night Phantom. Their innate arts were just the lesser version of their master.
It’s called Shadow Warrant.
When a Night Templar marks their target, the shadow itself becomes a temporary execution license.
As long as they see your shadow, they can use their demonic energy to mark it. The longer the distance, the higher the demonic energy consumptions.
Once they mark your shadow, not even a sigil armor can hide you from them... unless it’s Rank B Tier 3 and above."
Myles’ eyes flashed. He was deeply interested with the innate art of the Night Templar.
He thought. If it’s marking shadow from afar and suddenly being able to kill them, then it’s not primarily a law of shadow anymore.
He asked the Veil Stalker before he was able to proceed explaining about the Brand Templars, "What is their law?"
The Veil Stalker was stunned. He immediately replied, "It’s the Law of Authorization, Emperor. It’s not about the law of shadow, since once the authorization imprint is embedded on a shadow of their target, the Law of Authorization instantly activates.
This law determines who may kill, when killing is permitted, and whether resistance is legally valid. In other words, this law invalidates any form of defense.
Of course, the law needed an anchor, so for the Night Templars, it would be the shadow of their target. The shadow is connected to the target, after all."
Myles nodded. "So, do you know about their demonic martial arts?
The Veil Stalker was silent for a while before replying, "They only have a single demonic art and it’s not a secret. It’s called the Verdict Sever. It’s a finishing innate demonic martial art that activates only on marked targets. It causes the shadow and their blade to align, the causality shortened, and death occurred even if the body was protected.
However, if the target survived, the law failed and the Templar would be executed."
Myles frowned. He couldn’t spot the difference between the innate arts and demonic martial arts of the Night Templar.
"So, how does this demonic martial art differ from their innate arts?"
The Veil Stalker pondered for a while and said, "Their innate art locked their target with the Law of Authorization, their demonic martial art assassinated their target."
Myles nodded. He understood now. Their innate art and demonic martial art was inseparable.
He said, "Continue with the Brand Templars."
"Yes, Emperor. The Brand Templars belonged to the Crown of Chains. Their master was called Brandmasters.
The Brand Templars’ innate art was called Command Brand. It’s a soul-burning sigil that embeds authority directly to your flesh. Unlike chains, which bind externally, brands rewrite obedience into the target’s physical existence.
There’s three process: branding strike, which is a successful hit that burns a molten sigil into the target and it cannot be removed without law-level countermeasures, the obedience encoding, which the branded body reacts before the mind can resist, and the hierarchy enforcement, which the brand recognizes the rank and forced the target to recognize their hierarchy, too.
In other words, extreme obedience to their Demon King.
Their law was the Law of Marking, which governs permanent sigils, ownership marks, and hierarchical control imprints.
Their main demonic martial art was called Imperative Engrave. It’s a close-range execution demonic martial art that allows them to brand multiply across the body, causing resistance to self-immolate, and the target becomes an obedient asset or collapses entirely.
Hence, they are known for breaking rebels, punishing traitors, and converting enemies into controlled enforcers.
