Chapter 78: Subduing a Chain Knight

The Veil Stalker remained bowing with one knee in front of Myles, while the latter’s whole attention was on the Chain Knight.

Based on his aura, he was at the same rank as Myles.

Myles concealed his presence as deeply as he could, seemingly blending with the shadow, as he passed through the Veil Stalker and went closer to the Chain Knight.

As the Chain Knight was meditating and Myles stepped five meters closer to him, he raised his eyebrows, perceiving his instinct was warning him.

He opened his eyes and stared at Myles... supposedly, but Myles was aware the Chain Knight did not see him yet.

He was intrigued. The Law of Veil is really powerful. Although it consumes demonic energy every second to amplify the concealment, it’s still worth it.

When he was finally three meters away from the Chain Knight, the Chain Knight was surprised there was a shift of illusion occurring in front of him.

His eyes widened, he was familiar with the law in front of him.

Without hesitation, he released the imperial shackles from his fingertips consisting of twenty fingers with both hands, rapidly moving at Myles in different directions.

However, the imperial shackles hit nothing.

The Chain Knight turned around and slid the imperial shackles behind him, but it was already too late.

Myles performed the Silent Pane Strike by grabbing at the nape of the Chain Knight, ignoring even the armor defenses.

When his hand returned to reality, the Chain Knight’s armor surprisingly failed to contain Myles’ arm as though it was made out of steel. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

The Chain Knight felt the pressure of Myles’ grasp in his nape and wanted to resist at first. However, he soon found himself completely bound by unknown reasons.

His movement was completely sealed, even his sigil armor failed to activate as it was completely dominated by the invading demonic energy.

Slowly, a wave of terror crept towards him and in his peripheral vision was an image of Myles barely getting concealed by the law of veil.

He glanced at him and was horrified when Myles’ crimson eyes glared at him.

Myles’ domination was enough to erase his will to fight against him.

The iron-clad giant was instantly subdued.

The Veil Stalker witnessed what had occurred and was in awe of Myles’ power.

There was no Veil Stalker who could perform what Myles did. The Veil Stalker’s primary role was to infiltrate and gather intelligence to begin with.

As for assassinating others, it was the Knight Templar’s primary role.

Yet, Myles, not only had the capability to assassinate an iron-clad giant but subdued him, performed what was impossible.

To subdue another knight, belonging to Crown of Chains no less, made the Veil Stalker’s respect towards Myles elevate to a higher level.

The Veil Stalker’s impression of the battle was what Myles had thought. He knew the disadvantages and advantages of the Law of Veil.

The Law of Veil could hide him, but once the veil was spotted, it was impossible to hide himself again.

Unless, he had to consume more demonic energy just to conceal himself.

Furthermore, the Silent Pane Strike was only possible because he consumed a lot of demonic energy to harden his arm with the law of blood.

It was so successful that even his skin was unharmed.

Lastly, it was only possible to subdue the iron-clad giant because of the Sovereign of the Black Webs.

Without it, he would have failed to gain another follower.

He slowly released the Chain Knight, who appeared in front of him.

The iron-clad giant did not hesitate to bow with one knee at Myles and said, "Greetings, Emperor."

Myles nodded, satisfied.

He stared at the iron-clad giant and was satisfied he finally had a knight in the Crown of Chains.

The Crown of Chains was known slavery, ownership, and subjugation, and their knights were certainly suitable for subjugation.

Now that Myles gained a follower with such expertise, enslaving fellow Chain Knights would be easy.

Myles crossed his legs and said to the Chain Knight, "You now belong to the Execution Orders of my future Empire. It will focus on law enforcement and internal suppression. You will be the first Edict Acolyte."

The Chain Knight bowed deeply and said, "It’s an honor to be granted a title from the Emperor. To be your first Edict Acolyte of your Execution Orders is a heavy responsibility and expectations I must fulfill."

Myles nodded. "Good. However, my Empire has yet to establish, we are not on the initial stage yet. We need more followers.

Go and tell your other Chain Knight one by one to come here and we shall let them know the greatness of an Empire that is about to unite the Demon World."

The Chain Knight’s eyes widened.

He bowed deeply and said, "All hail to the Emperor."

The Veil Stalker did not want to be left behind as he suddenly appeared beside the Chain Knight and exclaimed, "All hail to the Emperor."

Myles nodded and replied, "You don’t have to shout. Anyway, first Edict Acolyte, go now and fulfill your mission."

The Chain Knight stood up and bowed again to Myles before disappearing.

Myles glanced at the Veil Stalker and randomly asked, "Aren’t you gonna question why I gained your law affinity and innate arts?"

The Veil Stalker instantly replied, "The Emperor’s powers are vast and enigmatic. It’s not surprising at all."

Myles was stunned and chuckled.

He said, "You’re smart. Alright, I have a task for you, too. I’m pretty sure you have heard my voice earlier?"

"I have, Emperor. The thirty-third sergeant is a lost cause and must be discarded immediately. We will cover up the reason why he died."

Myles nodded. "Now, go and investigate what happened or what is about to happen to him. Report immediately after you’re done. Also, don’t get caught by your fellow Veil Knights, who still have not converted to me."

"Yes, Emperor. Your will is my command."

Myles smiled as he watched the Veil Stalker disappeared in front of him.
