From A Producer To A Global Superstar-Chapter 290: Yura
Dayo was already inside the room when Min-Jae checked his phone for the third time.
"She said she’s on her way," Min-Jae said, sliding the phone back into his pocket. "She sounded nervous."
Dayo leaned back on the couch, arms folded loosely. "That’s expected."
Min-Jae glanced at him. "You say that like you’re not the reason she’s nervous."
Dayo gave a faint smile. "If she knows who I am, then yeah. If she doesn’t, she’ll be nervous anyway."
"That’s not comforting."
"It’s realistic." Dayo smiled he didn’t lie after all he could decided her future.
Min-Jae shook his head and walked over to the small table, straightening the files that were already perfectly aligned. "You know, sometimes I wonder if your brain was assembled wrong."
Dayo looked at him. "Because I think ahead?"
"Because you don’t think like a normal human being," Min-Jae replied. "Normal people finish a movie and rest. You finish a movie and start planning albums."
"I am resting," Dayo said calmly. "This is my rest and alao you know i hate not doing anything at all."
"That’s exactly what scares me."
Before Dayo could respond, there was a soft knock on the door.
Min-Jae immediately straightened. "That’s her."
"Bring her in," Dayo said.
Min-Jae opened the door.
A young woman stepped inside hesitantly.
She was in her early twenties, dressed neatly but simply. Her hands were clasped together in front of her, shoulders tense. Her eyes flicked briefly around the room before settling on the two men.
She froze for half a second.
Then she bowed quickly.
"Good evening," she said. "Thank you for seeing me."
Min-Jae smiled gently. "You don’t have to bow that deep. Come in."
She stepped forward, still visibly nervous.
Dayo watched her quietly.
There it was —
Seo Yura — Artist Evaluation

Dayo nodded her talent had increased from.what C+ to A which shows she was serious.
"You can sit," Dayo said, gesturing to the chair across from them.
She hesitated, then sat carefully, as if afraid to take up too much space.
"My name is Seo Yura," she said quickly. "I—"
"We know," Min-Jae interrupted kindly. "Relax. You’re not in trouble."
Yura let out a breath she clearly hadn’t realized she was holding.
"I’m sorry," she said. "I just... I wasn’t sure why I was called."
"That’s normal," Dayo said evenly. "Most people panic when they get unexpected calls."
She nodded. "Yes. Especially lately."
Min-Jae glanced at Dayo, then back at her. "You’ve had a rough few weeks."
Yura looked down at her hands. "I... yes."
Dayo leaned forward slightly. "Before we talk business, let me ask you something."
She looked up immediately. "Yes, sir."
"Do you recognize me?"
Her eyes widened a little. She hesitated, then nodded slowly. "I think... I’ve seen you before. Interviews. Clips. I just—"
"You don’t need to pretend," Dayo said. "If you don’t know, that’s fine."
"No, I know," she said quickly. "I just dont remember where i had seen you from."
Min-Jae chuckled. "That reaction never gets old."
Yura glanced between them. "So... may I ask why I’m here?"
Min-Jae leaned back. "I’ll start, and then he’ll finish."
DION raised an eyebrow. "You say that like it’s a rule."
"It is," Min-Jae replied. "An unspoken one."
He turned back to Yura. "You recently finished a competition."
"Yes," she said with cute and proud smile. "I placed first."
"Congratulations," Min-Jae said like he didn’t know about that.
"Thank you."
"And since then," Min-Jae continued, "there’s been pressure to release something quickly."
Yura nodded. "Yes. But the songs..."
"They don’t feel like you," Dayo said calmly.
Her head snapped up.
He didn’t elaborate.
He didn’t need to.
Her silence said everything.
Min-Jae watched her carefully. "That’s been bothering you."
"Yes," she admitted quietly. "I can sing them. I can perform them. But when I listen back, it feels like I’m borrowing someone else’s voice."
Dayo nodded once.
"That’s not a failure," he said. "That’s awareness."
And he didn’t lie many artist didn’t have this kind of music sense to feel how the music rhythm doesn’t auitr them so the fact that she knew the music felt off was a bonus to her talent.
Yura swallowed. "But awareness doesn’t fix it."
"No," Dayo agreed. "Action does."
Min-Jae smiled slightly. "This is where he comes in."
Yura looked back at Dayo, her nervousness returning. "Sir... may I ask... what exactly is happening?"
Dayo didn’t answer immediately.
Instead, his gaze shifted, unfocused for a brief second.
Min-Jae noticed.
"Uh-oh," he muttered. "He’s doing it again."
Yura blinked. "Doing what?"
"Thinking in layers," Min-Jae said. "I swear, sometimes I think there’s a second brain inside his head."
Dayo shot him a look. "You’re exaggerating."
"I’m not," Min-Jae replied. "I once tried to follow your thought process and got lost halfway."
Yura let out a small, nervous laugh.
Min-Jae sighed and said. " So I am sure you have been seeing how good your seniors in the label career are going and how some of them are said to have released song that would last centuries."
Yura nodded this was one of the reasons she agreed to join the record label as they are yet to create a flop or failed artists.
"He is the one behind the catalogue of more than 87% of them."
Yura looked suprised, bewild and stunnwd beyond words. She straightened immediately.
Dayo shook his head and turned back to her. "Here’s the simple version."
"I’m planning an album," he said.
Her eyes widened. "An album?"
"Yes."
Silence.
Then, carefully, "I... I don’t understand."
"It’s not your album," Min-Jae said quickly. "Don’t panic."
Yura looked relieved — then confused. "Then...?"
"It’s mine," DION said. "But you’ll be part of it."
Her mouth opened slightly. "Part of it how?"
DION leaned back. "You’ll be featured on most of the tracks."
She froze.
"That... that’s a lot," she said softly.
"It’s intentional," DION replied. "This isn’t about borrowing your hype. It’s about giving you space."
Min-Jae nodded. "Half the songs will lean toward your tone. Your color. Your emotional range."
"And the rest?" she asked.
"Balance," DION said. "So you’re not overwhelmed."
Yura shook her head slowly. "But... why?"
DION met her eyes directly. "Because you don’t need random singles. You need an environment."
She frowned. "An environment?"
"A project where your voice can grow without pressure," he explained. "Where I can study your tone, your delivery, your instincts."
Min-Jae added, "Think of it as training disguised as opportunity."
Her breathing steadied slightly. "So... this album isn’t about me being perfect."
"No," Dayo said. "It’s about you becoming clear on your style on singing i would have trained you personally but i have limited time in Korea so this is how ot work best."
There was a long pause.
Then Yura bowed her head deeply.
"Thank you," she said. "I was afraid I was failing."
"You weren’t," Min-Jae said gently. "You were just early."
She looked up. "Can I ask something?"
"Go ahead," Dayo said.
"Why do this now?" she asked. "You could wait. Or choose someone more... ready."
Dayo’s lips curved slightly.
"Because I have time," he said. "And because readiness is overrated."
"Ah speaking how is your English?." Dayo asked.
Yura smiled shyly. "My English... it’s not very strong."
"That’s fine we can push it little by little. ," DION said. 𝒇𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝒎
She nodded. "When do we start?"
"Tomorrow," Min-Jae said.
Her eyes widened again. "Tomorrow?"
"Yes," Dayo confirmed. "We’ll ease in. No pressure. No deadlines yet."
She stood and bowed again, this time more confident.
"I’ll do my best."
"That’s all we need," DION said.
As she left the room, Min-Jae exhaled heavily.
"You realize," he said, "normal people would’ve needed ten meetings to reach that point."
DION stood. "Normal people overthink."
Min-Jae shook his head. "One day I’m going to open your skull and check what’s inside."
"Let me know what you find," DION replied. "I’m curious too."
Min-Jae laughed.
The project had begun.
And none of them fully understood what it would turn into yet.
