From A Producer To A Global Superstar-Chapter 243: Jin-hee role
Few days pass and, everything was quiet.
Too quiet.
People in Indistrty were watching closely. They expected panic. They expected frantic moves, emergency meetings, rushed statements—something.
Anything.
But nothing came.
Dayo did not release a statement.
He did not complain.
He did not threaten anyone.
He stayed in his office.
Working.
This silence unsettled a lot of people.
Those who understood Dayo’s pattern knew better. Silence from him usually meant one thing—he was already several steps ahead.
After all all Dayo went quite for four years just to come back hotter than before in a different field and dominated.
And in the process he became untouchable.
So Dayo’s silent was a warning but the Korean industry didn’t understand they though Dayo’s silent was of weakness and time would tell them otherwise.
After a few days, Dayo finally went out.
The car arrived early in the morning.
When the door opened, Min-Jae was already inside, relaxed, leaning back with his arms crossed.
"Yo, bro," Min-Jae said with a grin. "What’s up?"
Dayo got in. "I’m good."
Min-Jae glanced at him. "You sure? Everyone’s waiting for you to explode."
Dayo smirked. "Disappointing them again."
Min-Jae laughed. "You’re not even pretending to be stressed."
"I’m not playing their game they already loat but don’t know it yet," Dayo replied calmly.
"Yeah ’Mr I think five step ahead’."Min-Jae teased Dayo.
"Yeah I accept that with my full chest... wait speaking of I haven’t recieved my money." Dayo had a smug on his face.
"Damn you Dayo all you see is money." Min-Jae faked annoyances.
"Yup that’s all I know now pay up." Dayo said laughing.
They exchanged light banter as the car moved through the city, eventually stopping in front of a familiar building—DM agency the name was inspiration from their names Dayo and Min-Jae.
As they own the company 50/50 during the making Min-Jae didn’t say no to sharing the profit equal as he was already regretting not asking for more when Dayo offered him a huge share for JD label branch in Asia.
Which was now a top label in the music Industry Asian wise and he held a good share but remember back then when Dayo had told him he might regret not asking for more so he didn’t even hesitate to accept the deal of equal splitting.
Though he knew the reason he could get all of this was becasue he was friends with Dayo else he had seen how Dayo was when it came to business with others he would make sure to squish the opponent dry especially when he had the advantage.
Dayo and Min-Jae both step Into the building.
Inside, the atmosphere was tense.
Actors were seated neatly in rows inside the hall. Some were calm. Others nervous. Everyone knew why they were here.
The moment Dayo walked in with Min-Jae, they stood up immediately.
"Sit," Dayo said simply.
They obeyed.
Dayo stepped forward and looked at them carefully. These weren’t strangers. Two years ago, he had personally filtered them, created training plan for them, invested in them.
"This room," Dayo began, "exists because I believed in you before the industry did."
Silence followed.
"I told you then that your time would come," he continued. "That time is now."
Murmurs rippled through the hall.
"I’m here to choose."
He didn’t waste words.
The project was revealed.
Train to Busan.
Eyes lit up instantly.
Dayo began the selection process calmly, methodically.
One by one, he evaluated compatibility—not just acting skill, but emotional range, screen presence, adaptability.
And he was also using his skill Director Instinct to scrap does who were compatible with the roles.
Some scored 70.
Some 60.
A few reached 80.
Those who matched the roles were selected without hesitation.
But as the process continued, Dayo frowned.
One role remained.
A crucial role Jin-hee a supporting role.
This role was very Important and he had not seen anyone compatible.
He scanned the room again.
Nothing.
No matter how he recalculated, no one fit that role properly. Not emotionally. Not structurally.
And all of then were below 40 which was a bad score anythig less than 60 the person couldn’t play fhe role to the expected level.
Min-Jae noticed his expression.
"What’s wrong?"
"No one here works for that role."
Min-Jae understood immediately.
"That role..." he said slowly, "was written with someone specific in mind."
"Yes."
Dayo exhaled quietly.
That was a problem.
He addressed the remaining actors.
"To those not selected today—don’t worry. Projects are coming. This is not the end."
Relief spread across their faces.
With that, the meeting ended.
Later, Dayo sat alone, scrolling through his phone.
One name appeared.
Min-ji.
The actress. but she was from VIREX Group and it was them that reduced Dayo to so another stressful casting.
Also the ban was their doing so trying to pouch their actress would be hard and they might react buy he shrugged.
"What more can they do that they haven’t done." He thought.
He paused.
Then shook his head.
"No."
He didn’t call her.
Instead, he researched.
Her past roles. Her contracts. Her restrictions.
If he remembered clearly her potential wws probably an S+ with a A+ Talent meaning there was room for growth.
What he found only confirmed his thoughts.
She wasn’t lacking talent.
She was lacking opportunity.
Her agency didn’t utilize her well as she has nor had a good role for more than two years seeing this it brought a smile on his face a plan was already forming in his mind.
And Dayo didn’t steal people.
He attracted them.
He waved Min-Jae goodbye and goes home after instructing the selected actors on what to do nut he made sure to tell them to keep their mouth quite for now.
He moved to his study room.
Sat down.
And began to write.
Not a contract.
A story.
A series.
M.S Ignition.
This is a Korean series that made a bit of splash and from his director Instinct it suit her so he goes on a week to write part of the script to use to lure her.
He wrote through the night.
By morning, the foundation was complete.
Satisfied, Dayo picked up his phone and made a call—not to Minjie, but to her assistant.
"This is Dayo," he said calmly. "Tell Minjie I’d like to meet. If she’s available, have her contact me."
The call ended.
Dayo leaned back.
The industry thought they had blocked him.
They didn’t realize—
He had already lit the match.
And they had no idea he was already ready to make a comeback.
