Chapter 226: Sharon

After playing the whole day, Janet and Deborah were already exhausted and had fallen asleep.

Dayo had to carry the two of them from the plane toward the car, and in the process, he was recognized. However, upon seeing that his hands were full, the fans didn’t disturb him.

They only took a picture with him while he was holding the girls, and the few fans present were deeply touched by the sight.

It was already late, so Dayo waved goodbye, got into the car, placed the girls in the back seat, and drove for about thirty minutes before reaching Sharon’s place.

He picked Deborah up, and she snuggled into Dayo’s arms, hugging him like a teddy bear.

Dayo smiled softly and petted her head.

Upon pressing the bell, the door opened almost instantly.

Sharon was standing there.

"Ah, Dayo, you’re back. You almost had me worried."

Dayo replied with a tired smile.

"I already called you when we arrived back, so why were you worried?" he asked.

He walked upstairs, entered Deborah’s room, and gently placed her on the bed. The little girl didn’t want to let go, but after about two minutes of petting, she finally relaxed.

Dayo covered her with a blanket and gave her a peck on the head.

Watching all of this, Sharon felt deeply touched.

She remembered how everything started.

She had been recommended to JD’s Label after her previous boss demanded more than she could give, especially while raising a child on her own. Unable to keep up, she was eventually let go.

When she first saw the scale at which JD’s Label operated, she thought Dayo would also lay her off. But not only did he keep her—he brought her into his family and took her in.

Sharon was older than Dayo, yet he treated her not like an assistant, but like a sister.

At first, she thought he might want something more from her. But when she tried to push that idea, he stopped her immediately and told her not to think too much—that he did everything because he loved Deborah, and nothing else.

From that moment, Dayo became more than just Dayo.

He became family.

A family she never had, being an orphan.

"Sharon! Why do you look so lost?" Dayo asked, snapping his fingers in front of her face before she regained herself.

"Oh, nothing," she said. "I just got lost in thought. Ah, speaking of which, you should come over tomorrow."

"Hm?" Dayo asked. "What’s the special occasion?"

"Well, first of all, Pepsi is ready to sign now, so the signing date is tomorrow."

"Oh, that’s unexpected—but good," Dayo smiled. After all, who doesn’t like money?

"Oh, and that’s not all," Sharon continued with a smirk. "The discussions you’ve been ignoring—we’ll have them immediately after that."

Dayo’s face twisted slightly.

He had intentionally been avoiding those discussions because he wanted to rest for a week. Now, work was piling up.

He muttered, "Ah... what do I do for the green?"

"Alright, fine," he said aloud. "You win. After the Pepsi signing, we’ll talk about the others. Happy now?"

"Hehe, you can’t imagine," Sharon replied, rubbing her hands together with a fake greedy smile. "I’m just happy I’ll be getting a big, fat commission."

"Oh, so that’s why you’re urging me?" Dayo laughed. "You’re such a bomber, Sharon—but fine, you win."

"Alright. Goodnight," Sharon said. "Janet is still sleeping in the car."

"Hm. Goodnight, Sharon," Dayo replied, waving as he entered his car and drove off.

Dayo drove out of Sharon’s compound quietly.

The streets were calm, almost empty, the city already deep in sleep. Janet was still asleep in the back seat, her head tilted slightly to the side. He adjusted the mirror once, glanced at her, and smiled faintly.

By the time he reached home, it was close to midnight.

He carried Janet inside carefully, placed her on her bed, and covered her gently. She stirred slightly but didn’t wake. Dayo stood there for a moment, watching her breathe evenly, then turned off the light.

In his own room, he finally let his body relax.

Before sleeping, he sent a short message to Sharon.

I’m home. Janet’s safe. See you tomorrow.

Almost immediately, a reply came.

Good. Rest well.

That was enough.

Dayo dropped his phone on the bedside table and fell asleep almost instantly.

The Next Morning

Morning came quietly.

Dayo woke up early, as usual.

No alarms.

He changed into workout clothes and stepped outside for his morning routine. The air was fresh, familiar. His jog was steady, controlled—his mind calm, his breathing measured.

Nothing special.

After returning home, he stretched, took a quick shower, and had a light breakfast. Janet was still asleep, exhausted from the previous day, so he didn’t wake her.

He had just finished tying his watch when his phone rang.

Sharon.

He answered immediately. "Morning."

"Morning?" Sharon’s voice came through, brisk. "Where are you?"

"At home," Dayo replied. "Why?"

There was a brief pause.

"The executives are already on their way," she said. "Pepsi’s team. Legal. PR. Everyone."

Dayo glanced at the time.

"...Already?"

"Yes," Sharon replied. "They moved faster than expected something about schedule moving up."

Dayo sighed lightly, then smiled. "Alright. I’m on my way."

"Good," Sharon said. "Don’t be late."

The call ended.

JD Headquarters

arrived at the JD headquarters less than forty minutes later.

The building was already active.

Sharon was waiting at the entrance.

"You’re cutting it close," she said, but her tone was relaxed.

"I said I was coming, didn’t I?" Dayo replied.

She smiled. "Fair."

They walked in together.

Inside the conference hall, the Pepsi executives were already seated. Clean suits. Confident posture. Familiar smiles.

Handshakes followed.

Introductions were brief—most of them already knew him.

Cameras flashed as contracts were placed on the table.

The signing itself was straightforward.

Dayo read through the final clauses carefully—exclusivity, campaign scope, duration, image rights. Everything aligned with what they had discussed.

When he finally signed, the room felt lighter.

Applause followed.

Photos were taken.

Handshakes again.

"Welcome to the Pepsi family," one of the executives said.

Dayo smiled. "Looking forward to working together."

Post-Signing Discussion

After the executives stepped out for PR arrangements, Dayo and Sharon remained seated.

"So," Sharon said, folding her arms lightly. "Availability."

Dayo leaned back slightly. "I’ll be in U.S for at most two weeks."

She nodded. "That works."

"I have personal projects to handle," Dayo continued. "After that, I’ll be traveling."

"Korea?" Sharon asked knowingly.

"Yes."

She smiled. "Then we’ll schedule everything within the two weeks."

"Good."

There was a brief silence before Sharon spoke again.

"Speaking of schedules..." she said carefully, "we still have a discussion pending."

Dayo glanced at her.

"I know," he replied shaking his head

"Alright let’s talk about it." Sharon grin.
