Freedom Jumper-Chapter 131: Chivalry of Beast
Chapter 131 - Chivalry of Beast
Explosions of Fire, torrents of water, devastating punches, and a crude suicidal clone played a major part in Elijah's and Niko's successful adventure. With the goal of making as much Genny as possible, they both strategically placed a clone that walked along the edge of the river they had previously fought beasts at. Not a single interruption occurred, and resulted in the slaying of over fourteen embergators who eventually burned the clone to a crisp.
While this took a great deal of time due to their not being a large pack of embergator's, it resulted in them profiting 1,120 Genny in a single day of work!! Unfortunately half of that went to the adventure guild which soiled their mood, but it gave them a good idea of how many days were necessary to reach a total of 8,000 Genny needed for both their entrances into the academy. Easily, within the next two fortnights — as long as everything stays relatively consistent — they would both be well off enough to support their daily life on top of the expensive fee.
The night came quickly after spending time among the streets of the Central Market District.
Their goal was to simply observe the developments taking place while walking into the different public news shops that allowed anyone to catch up on the happenings of the kingdom for free. It was either you spent time reading in person, or you spent Genny on news deliveries In the form of sturdy parchments similar to newspapers sent to your address weekly.
A few things to note were a similar type of beast disturbance in the city of Coriad and unique runic developments that would lead to the Protector's to manage themselves amongst the pressure of the suspected chasm of water. Detailed was a rough sketch and outline to a submarine suit that uses air runes to combat the pressure, weightlessness runes to combat the required heavy metal that would compose this suit, and tanks of air that would use air runes to fuel the lungs of the user. All of which would be powered by numerous powerful mana batteries. Below the illustration was a second promise of exploring the depths of the sea of water that stood in front of this kingdom.
Elijah surmised Gion had no way of crossing the ocean due to the violent waters amplified by the introduction of mana into the world. This only piqued his curiosity about visiting the ocean himself.
Nothing would be more daunting than shredding the waves of a violent ocean.
...
Inside the grand adventure guild, Elijah and Niko were perusing the list of Orange core missions — missions that were crucial to be finished and even had a reward for a certain number of beast cores gathered from the specified beast. This was something Elijah was never told, in fact, he had thought Enida had maybe forgotten to explain a few things.
"The only downside to choosing missions is worrying about adventurers who like to roam. If I recall, you took Songa's mission without even knowing." Enida added in disgust while knowing Songa was in the wrong for trying to turn them into criminals...
"Tell me Enida, why don't we see anyone our age here... you know, hunting beasts." Elijah rested his elbow while leaning into the chair.
"It's not surprising you know... Most children have families to take care of them, friends to hangout with, and a safe Kingdom to live in. They would much rather wait to do any of this until the age of 15 – when the academy provides access to beast hunting missions through the guild."
"Also, I did have something I needed to relay to you per the Guild Master. At the time of fifteen hours, there will be an anonymous visitor here intending to talk with you. I do not have any details other than that, but you must be here for it as the letter has a stamp of secrecy. Something only used when discretion is required."
"Well, I guess we can't refuse. We should be back by then." Elijah stood up with a worried expression.

The reason for his discontent is how he wanted to stay lowkey and unnoticed. That damn beast invasion that was most definitely targeted at him and Niko has likely drawn attention to himself. Although, even that didn't make sense as not a single person cared for his life. At least... that was what he thought.
The truth that he had read in the news parchment was how The Protector's had not a single moment of time to dilly dally with any single person. One by one, more and more beasts were shooting out of the spout and would have wreaked a lot more havoc if two mysterious young figures wouldn't have stepped in. Unfortunately, they shortly fled the scene and were unable to be identified.
...
Finally, a fight with a semi-intelligent species came into Elijah's hands.
The mission he had taken from Enida was a traveling group of goblins armed with a variety of different equipment. Thinking back to the armed orc's, Elijah began questioning the origins of these beasts. Someone must have armed these goblins, or they must have some sort of camp they call home. After all, the beast lands are filled with immense abouts of variety and zones specific to different beasts.
One of these days, Elijah will buy a detailed map of the beastlands.
In the central part of the Crosstree Jungle was Elijah and Niko flying through the trees, not too far away from the northern part of the hunting district.
Running frantically through the trees and bushes were a large group of goblins in the numbers of 25-30. The reasons behind Enida's acceptance of the two taking this mission by themselves was the promise that they would stay within cover while picking them off from a distance until a suitable number to face head on was reached.
Elijah and Niko had completely agreed, and while waiting for the perfect moment, Niko began materializing a condensed beam of fire whose speed was increased from the first condensed explosion of fire.
Growls and hideous screams were heard once a nearly translucent figure was seen in front of the goblins. They suddenly stopped in the underbrush of the jungle, and began creeping forward at a sight they could not understand.
BOOM!
From behind, Niko released a condensed beam of fire incinerating and boring holes into anything caught in its path.
Subsequently, a large wave of water was spread over the area to prevent the spreading of a forest fire.
Within the aftermath of smoke and mist, Elijah appeared from the side — defying gravity around the side of a towering tree that rested on the side of a tall plateau. All it took was a few seconds of mana accumulation to give a devastating blow to a goblins face, splattering blue blood all over Elijah's body.
Amidst staring into the well-equipped goblins, Elijah grew a wicked smile causing each one to freeze.
The second Elijah continued his fun, the remaining Goblins quickly spread out within the cover of the trees while also dragging their dead kin with them. Chivalry, a sight to behold amongst mere beasts.
While Elijah was chasing them down one by one, he was caught completely off guard at their strategy to surround their enemy. The moment they all spread apart and saw their enemy chasing a solo kin, they redirected themselves to appear around Elijah and even struck him in the back!
A nearly fatal wound almost caused his demise – an axe to the back that was very poorly sharpened created a spike of pain shooting all the way down his spine. It felt like the right side of his back had been perfectly struck to cause the shifting of his vertebrae. Seconds of panic passed, and the pain was dulled by the feeling of warmth while retreating into the cloud cover.
