Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 850 - Not Dead_1
Chapter 850: Chapter 850 Not Dead_1
Gerald Graves wore a sheepish expression.
When he first met Aria Jackson, she did indeed dazzle him as the naturally stunning beauties were a rare find. Just as he had approached her to strike up a conversation, she coldly pulled out a pair of handcuffs, dangling them around in her hand as if it were a toy.
Intimidation at its finest.
It was then that Gerald realized that Purple Summers’ friend was a policewoman.
No wonder Ms. Summers had such extraordinary friends…

Marcel Jefferson suggested, “Let’s not just stand around here. We still have an hour. Let’s grab something to eat and bring some for Purple too. When she wakes up, she might be hungry.”
Aria Jackson found her younger brother’s idea sensible, a smile spreading across her face: “She’ll definitely be hungry! We should bring her a Seafood Feast Pizza!”
Zara Jameson pursed her lips and smiled too: “The durian and mango pizza is also good. She loved it back in school.”
Ryan Wesley suddenly burst into laughter at something he found hilarious, holding his belly: “She loves ‘liu mang’… Hahaha…”
Zara Jameson looked at him bewildered and said, “Keep it down, will you? Don’t wake Purple up.”
Ryan Wesley’s laughter stopped, and he coughed once: “…Right, we should be quiet.”
Everyone tried to move out as quietly as possible without making a sound. Gerald had lost sight of his elder brother and turned to look, only to see Gavin Graves still standing at the door of the resting room.
“Bro, aren’t you coming?” The second young master asked.
Holding a cigarette between his fingers, Gavin took a drag and shook his head: “You guys go ahead.”
The second young master said, “Then we’ll bring something back for you to eat.”
The others were actually relieved that Gavin was not coming. With Young Master Graves present, it felt like a group of kids accompanied by an adult, resulting in a sense of unease.
After everyone had left, Gavin opened the door to the resting room to find Purple Summers indeed sprawled on the table, fast asleep.
The corner of his lips curved upwards unknowingly, finding Purple akin to a student burdened by her studies, asleep at her desk.
Gavin tiptoed into the resting room, sitting down gently next to Purple to study her sleeping face closely.
For her court appearance today, she wore a dark professional suit and had her hair neatly tied back in a ponytail, deliberately dressing maturely and responsibly. Yet, her sleeping face was still innocent and clueless, like a child.
A slight furrow appeared between her brows, perhaps uncomfortable in her sleeping position, but Gavin hesitated to touch her for fear of waking her.
Remembering the cigarette in his hand, he looked for an ashtray and stubbed out the butt. As he turned back, he saw that Purple’s face was covered in tears.
Gavin’s breath caught in his throat, momentarily at a loss.
Her eyes were still closed, sobbing even in her sleep, mumbling: “Alexander Summers…”
Purple’s voice was soft, but Gavin could faintly make out the sound of “Alexander.”
A bitter pain slowly spread across his chest…
…
Gerald returned earlier than the others, carrying several takeout containers. Seeing Gavin still standing by the door smoking, he expressed his surprise: “Bro, have you been standing here the whole time? Why not sit somewhere comfortable?”
Gavin took the disposable container from him and asked, “What did you buy?”
Instead of answering, Gerald leaned in a bit closer, asking softly, “Bro, do you like Ms. Summers?”
Gavin let out a faint smile and didn’t respond.
To Gerald, no denial implied consent. Recalling the powder diamond earring he had seen Gavin treasure, he felt more enthusiastic: “If you like her, go for it! After all, Roy Howard is dead!”
“Who told you he’s dead?” Gavin asked.
Gerald was taken aback, looking at him with wide eyes: “If he’s not dead, then is he still alive?”
Gavin exhaled a wisp of smoke, his voice emotionless: “At least in her heart, he’s not dead.”
