Fortunate to Have You This Lifetime-Chapter 808 - Airport_1
Chapter 808: Chapter 808 Airport_1
Where is everyone?
Where is Purple Summers?
Caitlin Carter almost thought she had come to the wrong ward, but the small label hanging at the foot of the bed had Purple Summers’ name on it. There was no way she could have made a mistake.
Had she gone to the bathroom?
The private ward came with an en suite bathroom, so there was no need to go outside to use the toilet.
...
Caitlin asked a nurse where the patient from the ward had gone, but the nurse, too busy to keep her feet on the ground, had no idea.
Just then another nurse passed by in a hurry, overheard their conversation, and interjected, “I saw that girl leave just a moment ago. She seemed in a great hurry, and she didn’t respond when I called out to her twice.”
Caitlin was stunned.
…Purple Summers left? Without a word, just like that?
The old lady’s face had turned an ashen hue, and with a heavy huff, she turned and left.
Caitlin, holding an insulated lunch box, was in a bind—neither staying nor leaving felt right. She hesitated for a few steps on the spot, then quickly followed the old lady with brisk steps.
…
Purple Summers took a taxi straight to Kingsley City Airport.
She hadn’t even taken her luggage; she simply hurriedly changed out of her hospital gown and ran out of the hospital.
The taxi’s heater was on. Huddled in the back seat with her cell phone in her hands, her blood seemed to freeze, chilling her so much that she couldn’t stop shivering; her hands and feet were stiff.
She scoured every news article about the explosion, and each of them concluded that Roy Howard was undoubtedly dead!
— that evening, there had been peace and joy on the yacht on the river, when suddenly, an oil leak caused a fire and an explosion. The explosion produced a mushroom cloud filled with flames, nearly making the river’s water boil.
All 35 guests and 50 crew members on the yacht perished, with no survivors.
The news included images of the rescue operation, showing the wreck of the yacht and the dismembered limbs floating in the water. It was impossible to tell who’s arm it was, or whose leg.
Which of these remains were his?
Purple Summers felt cold—the kind of cold that made her teeth chatter, almost unable to steady her phone in her hands.
The driver in front had called out to her twice before she came back to her senses to find she had already arrived at the airport.
As she bent down to open the door, a piercing pain shot through her spine, an indescribable feeling of congestion, but she ignored it, staggered out of the car, and hurried into the airport.
Surrounded by people dragging their luggage, Purple Summers kept moving, her eyes frantically searching ahead, not knowing who tripped her as she lost her balance and fell forward!
“Careful!” someone caught her steadily.

Purple Summers turned her head to look, and in astonishment, her eyes widened, “Young Master Graves?”
How could Gavin Graves be here?!
Before Purple Summers could ask him anything, Gavin Graves had already spoken into the phone, “…Yes, I’ve found her. She’s at the airport. I’ll take her back to the hospital now.”
Purple Summers immediately grabbed his arm, urgently asking, “Whose call was that? Was it Roy Howard? He’s still alive, isn’t he?”
Gavin Graves took her hand and started to walk outside, “Let me take you back to the hospital first. You’ve just had surgery; you need to rest…”
Purple Summers stiffly followed his steps, pressing further, “Was it Roy Howard who called? Was it him?”
But Gavin Graves didn’t answer.
Purple Summers stopped, forcefully shaking off his hand, refusing to walk with him any further.
Anger flashed in her eyes as she demanded in a low voice, “Tell me! Who was on the phone!”
Gavin Graves remained silent, his face showing reluctance, “It was Zack Wallace’s call. Damian Howard is searching along Clearwater for Roy Howard’s body. If you go back, you’ll certainly be targeted by Damian Howard.”
Purple Summers froze.
There was no light in her eyes, and her face, numb with confusion, evoked sympathy.
Sorrow flowed through Gavin Graves’ eyes as he tightly held Purple Summers’ ice-cold hand, leading her back to his car.
“Damian Howard suspected something might happen at the retirees meeting. Roy Howard was aware and made preparations in secret, but no one expected that the yacht would explode suddenly… The Howard Family has been severely weakened this time; everyone who attended the retirees meeting… they all died…”
