Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 224: He is playing with us!
Celestia’s POV:
It was completely night when we all reached the fort of the Northern mountains. The weather is always the coolest in this region.
The ice-cold breeze from the snow-covered mountains was very comforting to me. I always liked being here—but never got the time to come here.
The atmosphere seemed to be very silent. For a brief moment, I thought that there was no one inside the fort. Darius instructed the younglings to split up into groups and surround the tall fort that seemed to be touching the dark sky above us.
Then Darius and I, along with the five Fathomless Fae warriors, barged into the Fort through the main entrance of the fort.
Inside the fort, it was completely dark. There seems to be no sign of life here! Darius lit up the whole place by emitting blue flames from his hand.
"They all must have fled the place," said Ember, who was behind me.
That seemed unlikely to happen. Where could they have gone from here? Then suddenly, we all heard someone running upstairs.
"Guys, follow my lead," Darius said and sprinted to the staircase. I was incapable of producing flames from my hand—so I just followed Darius.
Once we got to the top floor, it was bright again. The fire torches and chandeliers were lit up in the hallway that was circular. I looked around to see any sign of life. Perhaps there is really no one here.
"Let us split up and search," Darius instructed us.
This seems like a bad idea to me. This could be a trap too! All the warriors ran in a different direction—but I never left the side of Darius.
We both took another flight of stairs and reached a floor higher than before. In this corridor, there seemed to be a lot of rooms.
This region looks like a hotel of the mortal world to me. I was hit with a wave of nostalgia as I walked through the corridor. My job in the mortal world included attending conferences in luxury hotels that were exactly like this place. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
My life in the mortal realm seems like a distant dream to me now—this is my reality.
Darius opened one of the room doors only to find that it was dark and empty. Where did they all go? I clutched the wooden bow in my hand firmly and followed him to the next door.
This door seemed different than the rest. It was painted silver, and on the wall next to the door, artistic portraits were hanging.
Darius knocked the door open. A purple-robed man was seated in the wooden dining table chair alone. He was the Fae Lord Samuel!
I instinctively took an arrow from my quiver and attached it to my bow. I was about to shoot the arrow at the traitor Fae Lord, but he got up from his chair and came to us.
"Dawn....," he cried out. "Please save me from that trickster. He is trying to damn us all—"
Then he got on his knees before me and started crying out loud. This must be an act; this is all part of that trickster’s plan.
But Darius was confused with his act. He said to the Fae Lord," Why would you need our help? We all thought that you had soul your sold to that trickster and turned to the dark side—"
"No, that is not true," he replied while he was still kneeling before me. "I didn’t join hands with that trickster willingly. I was forced to do it! He blackmailed me with something that is dear to me."
Again, I felt like he was acting. He had trained him to act well! I was impressed by his capabilities for a while.
"So you are saying that you helped the trickster to conceal his identity just because he blackmailed you?" Darius questioned me.
"Yes," he replied. "He told me that if I didn’t aid him, then he might hurt my Mage lover—"
I leaned closer to Darius and whispered," He is definitely lying. Don’t believe him—"
Darius was torn apart between me and Samuel, who was now shedding crocodile tears.
"I had to give him a place and identity to hide—or else he would have killed my Mage lover. Even now, my lover is in danger. Can you please help me in rescuing her?"
I was marveled at how one could keep up with the act even after their opponent had caught his bluff. I lowered my bow and glanced at Darius again.
"Don’t let him go unless he tells you the truth," I said to him.
"No, I am telling you the truth," he protested. "Right now, Silver Shadow is holding my lover captive in the Magelang. I request the Dawn to save me from this critical situation and give me salvation—"

Darius cuffed the Fae Lord Samuel to the wooden chair. The rest of the warriors didn’t find anyone or anything suspicious in the whole fort.
I struggled to understand what game he was playing now. All I know for sure is that Samuel is acting in order to clean his tainted image.
Darius interrogated the Fae Lord for one hour. He asked him a lot of questions—but his answer was the same.
It is too bad that it is impossible to read the thoughts of the Perspicacious Faes. Their strong Physic shield is their biggest advantage.
Father Oberon doesn’t trust the Perspicuous Faes much, even before the force of the light got stronger. He always used to suspect them when something unexplainable happened. And he proved to be right now. These cunning Faes have been providing a place for the trickster to stay.
After an hour of interrogation, Samuel got completely frustrated by defending himself.
"Just because I can’t prove my innocence doesn’t mean that I am guilty. You can lock me up in the dungeon if you want, but before that, please help me save my lover—"
Darius was extremely confused—but he seemed to be believing his words.
"Don’t trust him, Darius," I cried out. "Silver Shadow is playing with us!"
