Chapter 223: The Fae King is sick again

Celestia’s POV:

All the young Fae warriors had gathered outside the Sun Chapel when the night slowly fell in the sky. I still didn’t feel good about involving the younglings in this fight.

Most of them here are just teenagers—they are still learning the fight. If something happens to any one of them, then I wouldn’t be able to forgive myself. Not another Fae should die because of him!

Darius was instructing everyone on how they all should act once they get in the battling arena. He told them to rely on their weapons more at the beginning instead of using their powers—as using the powers from the start might lead to the drain out of energy.

But I don’t have to go through that as I have no powers in me at all. I am obligated to rely on my weapons just like them. I had a quiver full of arrows attached to my armor and a bow in my hand. If my arrows get over, then I would have to use the little dagger in my sheath.

I felt like a noob amidst all these Fae warriors around me. The worst part is that I am going to challenge an Anti-Angel with these miniature weapons! I definitely don’t stand a chance against him—but I am going to face him anyway.

Edwin, who was standing beside me, was anxiously tapping his leg on the ground. He is anxious as we are doing something big without informing Father Oberon. I believe that this is the first time he is doing something like this.

"Celestia, are you sure that the King doesn’t have to know about this?"

"No," I replied immediately. "Darius told me that we can’t worry the King by saying that his mortal enemy is hiding out in the land. We have to handle this by ourselves—"

"But why?" he almost shouted. "What is the worst thing that might happen if we tell the King? He himself might lead the quest. The chances of us winning is more if he is in the front line—"

Even I had the same question. Why can’t Father Oberon know about this? Lately, Darius has been doing a lot of things without our father’s knowledge. He made me promise not to tell him about the missing dead rocks, and now he is leading a battle without his knowledge. Something seems odd here!

After Darius completed instructing the warriors, he came to me. "So shall I open the portal? It is time that we leave now before midnight—"

"No, before we leave, I need to ask you something. Why shouldn’t our father know about this?"

"Celestia....." he sighed and shook his head. "I told you before that it is irrelevant to disturb our Father on this."

"No, there is something else to this! I know it, and I want you to give out an honest answer—"

"Do you really want to know about this?"

I nodded. "If something is going on with our father, then I would like to know about it."

Darius hesitated and looked at Edwin, who was uncomfortably fidgeting his hand. Then he glanced at both of us and said,’’ Please excuse me now!" And then he ran away from us—as he didn’t want to get involved in the affairs of the royal family.

Once he was gone, Darius started to speak again. "Celestia, I think that it would be best if you don’t know about this."

"Just say it to me—" I snapped. He was taken aback by the harshness in my tone.

"Fine, I will say everything," he breathed out. "Do you know how our father got sick once you sacrificed yourself in the Holy Fire?"

I nodded again. Father has told me how he got sick after I died. It was so sad to hear, but he had no other choice than to sacrifice me.

"Ever since the trickster escaped from the deep abyss, he slowly started to fall sick again."

"What?" I shouted. "He is getting sick again?"

"Yes! He is trying hard to recover now. And that is why I didn’t want to bother him by saying this."

I still couldn’t believe that my father was ill. He seemed bright to me whenever I saw him; he is doing good in masking his illness.

I started feeling gloomy as I thought about Father Oberon. It looks like he is so intimidated by that trickster.

"Him being an Anti-Angel now is a danger to everyone in the realm," I blurted out to him. "That is why our father has gotten sick again. Now we to stop that trickster somehow—"

"Obviously," he agreed, but his tone lacked determination.

He seemed unconfident—and so I was. It is a well-known fact that only an Angel can subdue an Anti-Angel, but I am just a creature of bloodlust.

"Celestia, you don’t really have to come with us," Darius said as if he read my last thought. "In case if we lose, then that trickster will abduct you and make you as his....."

He didn’t have to finish that sentence for me—and he wasn’t wrong. When I had the telepathic conversation with him, he told me that he was going to tame my wrath.

I am not a gullible idiot now like I was in the past. I exactly know what he was referring to; he is going to make me his sex slave again! I might have willingly given my body to him before—but I am not going to do that again.

Perhaps I shouldn’t go to the spot for my sake. But I changed my mind again when I looked at the younglings who were before me.

None of them seemed to be scared or intimidated even after knowing what awaited them. They all were casually chatting with each other—and one of the younglings even boasted how he was going to slay the Anti-Angel by himself.

At least I should face the trickster for their sake. Who is there for them if I abandon them for my selfish reasons?!
