Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 217: They have laid a trap for us
Theo’s POV:
I was standing in the hallway outside my room and admired the artistic portraits that were hanging on the wall. Samuel does have good taste in art.
Most of the paintings on the wall were of the different landscapes of the snowy-tipped Northern mountains. I wonder who the artist is; it must have taken a lot of effort to bring out the perfection in the colors.
At that moment, a young girl came running to me. She was looking fine, but her hair and her purple gown were drenched in something like milk. She is the girl who is infatuated with me. Usually, she trembles in shyness whenever she sees me.
But now, she was sobbing before me. "Your lady is mean.... She threw away the food that I gave her on my face."
Oh my! What did Lilin do now? She has been scaring all the girls in the fort ever since she arrived here. So far, I have overcome a lot of obstacles. But taming the demon princess Lilin seems like a difficult task to me.
It has been just a couple of days since she arrived here. Within this short time, she managed to exhaust everyone in the Northern fort with her atrocities.
"Young lady, I would like to apologize on her behalf—" I bowed down to her and walked to the stairs.
I started to get chills when I climbed up the stairs. Lilin had asked for a room in the upper regions of the fort purposely—as it is cooler there. Shadow creatures always had resistance against the chillness. I am an Anti-Angel, too; still, I don’t have that resistance.
My heart almost skipped a beat when I saw Lilin. She was wearing a very short gown that was revealing her thighs. She is hot; still, I didn’t feel the desire for her.
When she saw me, she flipped her long raven black hair and stepped forward to me. She must have purposely lowered the neckline of her sleeveless gown. Is she trying to seduce me?
"Theodore...." she said in a husky voice and grabbed the collar of my robe. "Do you ever miss me?"
I sighed and pushed her away from me. "Yes, I did! But I missed you only as my mentor—"
She groaned at my reply. "Come on, Theodore! Let us just do it once and seal the deal—"
I wished that Ivory somehow appeared here and saved me from this Succubus! When I didn’t give her a response, she shook her head and said, "Maybe this will change your mind."
Then she tried to strip down from her tiny dress—but I held her hand and stopped her from doing it. "Lilin, this was not even in our deal...."
She got frustrated by my rejection. "You are such a loser," she growled and pulled up her neckline. I looked away from her when she did that.
I was surprised by the resistance I had in me. In the past, I used to give in to her every time she offered herself to me.
Once she had her neckline covered, I looked at her again and asked her," Why are you terrorizing the young ladies in the fort?"
"Come on, those girls deserved it," she snapped. "They bought me milk! When I asked them for meat, they said that meat is forbidden in this land."
"That is true... Meat is forbidden in this land."
"Seriously?" she gaped. "How can these people live without eating meat?"
"Probably they can. And I request you to not get nasty with the girls again—"
She grunted and turned away. "I don’t know what you even see in her. Just tell me why her?" she asked in a tone filled with desperation. Ivory has asked this question to me many times before—and I gave the same answer that I used to give her.
"I don’t know the answer to that either," I replied.
Suddenly, I heard someone walking into the room. I looked over my shoulder and saw a stunned Samuel.
"I am... I am sorry, your highness. I never knew that I would be interrupting something by barging in here," she said.
"No, you didn’t interrupt anything. And nothing was going on here. The Demon princess and I were just talking," I clarified to him.
"Then it is fine!" he smiled. "I just came here to inform you that my fellow Perspicacious Faes was able to find out the location of the golden orb. It is kept in the safety vault of the Sun Chapel, just like always—and it is mostly unguarded. Tonight I will enter the Chapel and retrieve the stone back—"
After saying that, he was about to leave, but I halted him. "Lord Samuel, please stop. It is a trap. They have placed it in there just to lure us there-"
He turned back to me and blinked. "Your highness, how can you say that it is a trap? The orb has been kept in the vault for all these years."
I really thought that Samuel was smart enough to see the traps of rivals. It looks like I should not blindly rely on him!
"Lord Samuel," I breathed out. "The moment Celestia dropped the orb on the floor, it disappeared. It means they already suspect that something is wrong with the orb. I bet that they would have even opened the orb and took out the moonstone from it—"
"What?" Lilin screamed out from behind me. "Are you saying that my moonstone is with the Faes now? Then how can I get back to my realm?"
If she keeps on screaming at me, then my ears would start to bleed. For the sake of my sanity, I should retrieve that damn moonstone as soon as possible.
"Lilin," I said her name without looking at her. "The moonstone must be hidden in a different place. All we have to do is find that."
"And how are you planning to do that?"
"Just stay behind and watch the show. The real game is about to begin—"
