Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 213: Please guide me, Father
Theo’s POV:
Highland Faes are the biggest hypocrites in all three realms. Whatever is happening now in the Chapel is proof of that.
These are the ones who cursed Celestia—now they are criticizing her. And Oberon was deadly silent when he should be taking the side of his so-called daughter.
Celestia should at least now try to see the true nature of these pride-filled Highland Faes—but my love is still innocent. She is now feeling guilty for letting her father down. But in reality, Oberon is the one who is letting her down.
Why doesn’t she understand that these people are unfair to her? These people are taking her for granted, and she doesn’t even know that she is being used!
Then something surprising happened. The loyal slave Edwin started to speak in favor of Celestia. For a moment, I couldn’t believe my eyes and ears.
But Edwin is just a slave! He doesn’t have the right to speak against the High Lords like this. I appreciate his valor!
"The Dawn gave her life for the Highlanders," Edwin continued. "How many of you in this crowd are brave enough to sacrifice your lives for others?"
None of them in the crowd raised their hands for that. I am not going to lie; I won’t be sacrificing my life for others either
"The Dawn did an eternal sacrifice; still she gets no respect for that from her own people," Edwin fired at the whole crowd.
I wanted to clap my hands and applaud him, but I restricted myself from doing that. Most of them in the crowd seemed to be guilty—but the Wisdom Fae Lord Ethan was determined to prove his point in front of everyone.
"The Dawn did an eternal sacrifice—and no one denies that," Ethan interrupted. "But you also can’t deny that the young man over there have could have almost died today if you hadn’t bought the blood in the right time—"
This is the problem with the intellectuals. They all have their own morals and expect everyone else to have the same morality as them. If someone has a different mentality, then they try hard to prove that the person is wrong.
What the Wisdom Fae Lord fails to understand is that each and every individual has a unique opinion on the way things work. The sun can’t revolve around them just because they know some stuff from ancient scriptures.
"Now tell me what would have happened if you had arrived late with the goblet of blood?" Ethan questioned him.
Edwin was defeated by that question. Still, he didn’t give up the argument.
"Fine! I agree that the Dawn has become a predator now. But Lord Ethan, can you please tell me how exactly the Dawn became the predator in the first place? It was because you people cursed her—"
Edwin paused for a moment to let his statement sink into everyone’s mind.
"You people cursed the Dawn for the mistake she didn’t make," Edwin proceeded after a while. "Even though you people cursed the Dawn, she was more than willing to offer her life to you all—she loves her people that much. Today it has become clear that you all don’t love the Dawn—"
Whoa! Edwin is on fire today. He was speaking off everything that I had in my mind for these many years.
Lord Ethan didn’t like that he was losing the argument. In his mind, he was coming up with a strong point to defend his case. No matter what he says next, I know for sure that Edwin will give a perfect counter back to the allegations.
"Warrior Edwin—" Ethan hissed. "You are completely wrong about us. The Highlanders don’t just love the Dawn—but we worship her like a Goddess. Now it hurts to see the Dawn committing such an immoral act in this Holy place. I am sorry to say this, but the faith we had on the Dawn has been shattered a little today." 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺
Edwin shook his head and took a step closer to the edge of the stage. "Lord Ethan! Faith is limitless, and it has no boundaries. If your faith in the Dawn has lessened today, then it means that you never actually saw the Dawn as the Goddess. Because the faith that we have in our Gods is supposed to last forever through all the thick and thin—"
Edwin did it again! He gave a tongue-tying reply to the Wisdom Fae. It was so satisfying for me to see him lose an argument.
"So we are supposed to just keep on having faith in Dawn, hoping that she will get control eventually?"
"Exactly!" Edwin retorted. "That is what faith is—"
Then Lord Ethan fell silent and returned back to his seat. I was marveled at Edwin’s wit. He is really wasting his potential by serving Oberon!
"And that is why people, we should keep on supporting the Dawn! She might be a predator now—but she will eventually find a way to break her curse. So I conclude that the coronation ceremony should continue and the Dawn should be crowned today—"
Just when I was appreciating Edwin, he did something like this and disappointed me again. The whole purpose of this chaos was to stop the coronation from happening!
Now the people seemed to agree with Edwin’s statements. No! This can’t be happening. All my efforts can’t go to waste.
"I refuse to accept the crown—" Celestia said suddenly. Her voice was full of boldness and determination.
"My people, I am sorry that I wasn’t honest with you from the beginning! My desire was never to become the princess. All I ever wanted was to be the protector of the Celestial realm—and I will continue to do that as a warrior."
Celestia then turned to Oberon, who was still stunned. "I am sorry, father, for letting you down. I might have failed today—but I don’t want to ever fail in the upcoming days. I want to succeed in everything, and I believe that you will keep on guiding me until I become an Angel warrior—"
I breathed out in relief as my efforts didn’t go to waste. My love herself refused the crown!
