Forever Destined to the Silver Shadow-Chapter 209: The Princess to be
Celestia’s POV:
The day which I dreaded so much has finally arrived. I prayed for days that my father should change my mind and cancel the coronation—but he didn’t! It looks like I have no other choice than to become the princess of the Celestial Realm.
Surprisingly I got one hour of sleep last night—and I was relieved that I had no nightmares this time. It was still dark outside the window of my room. I should probably get dressed up before the sunrise.
I stripped down from my plain night clothes and put on an attractive golden-colored long gown that Daviana placed in my closet yesterday.
Daviana told me that more than three Healer Faes had knitted this thing. The gown seemed too heavy to me—but when I put them on, the fabric felt light. I don’t understand how the silk fabric here is as light as a feather. In the mortal realm, it is so heavy and uncomfortable to wear.
I adjusted the long sleeves of my gown and put on white leather gloves that Daviana instructed me that I must wear for sure. Then I adjusted my golden locks slightly and stood in front of the mirror.
I still didn’t feel like a princess! Maybe I will never feel like one ever. I should keep on faking it until I actually make it for real.
Ember and Daviana got into my room carrying a large crimson surcoat. My heart froze when I saw it as this is something Queens wears. But I am just a princess!
"I am sorry, Celestia! But the King insisted that you should wear this," Daviana said.
I don’t understand why Father Oberon is doing this much for me. He clearly knows that I disliked being the princess. Now he insisted I wear something that only Queen’s wear!
I felt like a puppet when Daviana and Ember made me wear the scarlet red surcoat that had the symbol of the sun embroidered in the center of it.
Ember squealed and said, "Now you look beautiful like a Queen."
This is too much! I am not even ready to become a princess—but they say that I look like a Queen?!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
All the Highlanders were gathered outside of the Sun Chapel to watch my coronation. They all called me out and cheered for me.
"All hail the Dawn! All hail the Dawn," they all continued to cheer until I got into the Chapel.
Inside the chapel, there were very few people seated in the pews. Even here, the Faes were seated as different groups. The Perspicacious and the Healer Faes were on the front rows, while the Spirit and healer Faes were on the backside.
I looked straight at the statue of the Holy Aiden that was made up of wax and walked towards the stage. I didn’t dare to take a look at the Perspicacious Faes who was seated in the front row. I don’t want to see him ever again!
Once I got up on the stage and faced everyone in the Chapel, Father Oberon arrived. When he got in, everyone got up from their pews as a matter of showing respect to the Fae King.
Then I subconsciously landed my eyes on him. He was seated on the very front row along with his sister and his father. As usual, he gave me a warm smile when I saw him.
I cursed myself and turned my gaze back to my father, who was now climbing up the stairs to the stage. Once Father Oberon stood beside me, the Dark-haired man quit staring at me.
He definitely must be the trickster. Except for him, no one else has the courage to misbehave with me this way! I am definitely going to confront him after this coronation gets over.
After some time, a man in a white cassock arrived at the stage. He had a large brown leather book of the Holy Scripture in his hand. He must be the Archbishop of the Sun Chapel.
The Archbishop bowed down to the King and stood in front of me. I have never witnessed a coronation before—not even in my previous life. So I had no idea what I should do here. I regretted not asking Daviana about this before.
The Archbishop stretched the scripture in front of me—but I didn’t know what to do. Should I get this book from him?
"The princess to be should place her hand on the scripture—" the Archbishop instructed me after he noticed my hesitation.
Then I realized that I should have to take a pledge now. God! Where did my senses go? I placed my hand on the scripture and ordered myself not to act lame in front of my people.
"Will the ’princess to be’ promise and swear to rule the people of the Celestial realm?" he asked me.
"I solemnly swear that I will—" I replied while my palm was firmly pressing the brown leather of the scripture.
"Will you protect your people when they need you the most and even sacrifice yourself again if required?"
"I solemnly promise to do so—" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
"Will you, to the utmost of your power, maintain the laws of the Sun God Aiden and forever stay in the side of the light?"
"I will," I replied again.
And thus, the oath-taking ritual came to an end. Next must be the ritual of anointing!
A couple of Fae girls who were dressed in plain clothes got on the stage and removed the crimson surcoat from me.
Then the Archbishop instructed me to sit down on the coronation chair that was behind me. This chair was entirely made up of brown crystal stones called smokey quartz.
It was a challenge to sit down on the throne and also to adjust my long gown as well. Once I got settled on the throne, the Fae girls held a canopy of a long silk fabric over my head.
Then the Archbishop bent down and took the shiny bronze ampulla flask that was on the surface next to the coronation chair. The flask must have the Holy oil inside it!
At that moment, my eyes peeked at the dark-haired man again—who wasn’t smiling at me anymore. Why do I have the feeling that he is up to something?!
