Chapter 131: They were my family once....

Celestia’s POV:

I waited for midnight to arrive so that I could sneak out of my room and save Theo. I had everything carefully planned out. I will go downstairs and get into the dungeon.

I am going to free him from his chains and leave this castle in peace. I hope that nothing challenging comes in my way. I really don’t want to fight with any one of them here. All I want is to rescue Theo!

I was cuffed with the dead rock chain for only one day, and that day became the worst day in my life. I can’t imagine what Theo must be going through.

He must be completely drained of energy. But he is not going to stay that way for a long time. I am going to save him before this night ends. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

The time that I was waiting for finally came. I slowly got out of my room and walked down the stairs. There was no one in the Hallway, just like I expected it to be.

Father Oberon has made a rule that except for the castle guards, no one should roam in the hallway. However, today even the castle guards were missing. The situation is more favorable for me!

As soon as I reached the basement below, I understood the reason why there were no guards upstairs. There must be at least ten palace guards down here, and they are guarding the door that leads to the dungeon.

If I have to get past the door, then I would have to face these Fae guards. This is like the worst nightmare ever! I don’t want to fight with the Fae guards. They are not my enemies here. They are just following the orders of Father Oberon.

Perhaps this is not my time! I can’t hurt innocent people for my sake. I climbed up the stairs slowly and got back to the hallway. When will the right time come?

I froze on my mid-step when I saw Edwin standing in front of me. What is he even doing in the castle after sunset? I got the answer as soon as I asked that question to myself. Are they here to keep an eye on me?

Edwin stared down at me skeptically. " I was just wandering the castle as I wasn’t able to sleep," I blurted out.

He didn’t seem to be buying my lies. I should have said something more believable than this! "Okay, I think that it is time for me to go and sleep."

I stepped away from him and walked to my room. It’s not like he is going to hold my hand and stop me. Even if he did something like that, then he would get thrown at least ten feet away from me!

I got back into my room and sealed the door shut. No matter what happens, I am not going to open this door. What am I going to do now? I had a plan, but nothing went according to it!

Now Edwin must have warned others that I was lurking around the stairway to the dungeon. They are going to restrain me again with the dead rock chain! Holy Aiden! This can’t be happening.

"Celestia, open the door," I heard Darius call me out.

My doom has come! But I am not going to do what he says. Who would open their doors for the doom?!!

"Celestia, it is just Edwin and me! We both are not going to hurt you. Would you please open the door?"

"I don’t believe you," I pressed my hands on the wooden door and screamed out. "You are probably going to chain me again. I don’t want that thing on my wrists. It makes me weak!"

There was a long pause from the other side of the door. Are they gone? What if they bring the other warriors here? The last thing I want to do now is battle with my own friends!

"I promise you that we are not going to chain you again," Edwin said. "You know that I never lie, don’t you? You can trust me, Celestia."

I was like him too! I was a pure, innocent soul who never lies. Now I have changed due to the circumstances. I clenched the doorknob and turned it slightly.

"If you both break the promise and try to chain me again, then I would not hesitate to strike you two," I announced and opened the door.

"Celestia, are you out of your goddamn mind?" Darius yelled. " How can you do this to us? Do you know what will happen if you free him? He will reunite with his lover Lilin and overpower us all!"

I am tired of hearing this same thing over and over again. I didn’t even care to defend my actions to him this time. No matter what I say, they are not going to agree with me.

"You are the Dawn, and you should be our protector. But why are you always trying to lead us to destruction? What is wrong with you, Celestia? Did he inject you with some kind of evil potion?"

At that moment, I realized that this is all a waste of time. My father and Darius will never acknowledge Theo and me, no matter how hard I try. I tried hard to change their minds a lot of times, but I was never successful.

The reality was hard to take in for me! These people were once my family to me. But that was all in the past! Now they have become my opponents, and I should have to treat them like my opponents.

And no one can ever convince their opponents with words when they refuse to even listen to you. If words don’t work, then all I have left with is to strike them. This is the only option I have got now.

I gripped my fists and let my palms yield golden flames. Both of their eyes widened in horror when they saw my hands.

"Celestia, no..." Darius cried out.
