Forced Pampering: Haughty Husband, Please Restrain Yourself-Chapter 31 - 39 Borrowing Some Money
Chapter 31: Chapter 39 Borrowing Some Money
Sun Xuehui greeted An Ran with a smile, stepping forward to ask, "Ran, have you finished signing up?"
An Ran knew that Sun Xuehui would be at Nan’an today to register An Sijia, but she hadn’t expected her to seek her out. Judging by her demeanor, she didn’t seem to be looking for trouble, so An Ran nodded and replied, "Yes, I’ve finished signing up."
"Do you have time now? Mom needs to talk to you about something," said Sun Xuehui.
Xiao Xiao instinctively pulled An Ran upon hearing Sun Xuehui’s words, but An Ran patted her hand and reassured her, "You go eat first, I’ll join you in a bit."
"Oh, Xiao Xiao also got into Nan’an University?" Sun Xuehui now noticed Xiao Xiao standing beside An Ran and smiled, "It seems you and Ran are quite fated. You go ahead to eat, I need to discuss something with her."
With that, Xiao Xiao couldn’t say much more, so she exchanged pleasantries with the two and headed to the cafeteria alone.
Watching Xiao Xiao walk away, An Ran then asked, "What’s the matter? Go ahead."
Sun Xuehui glanced around and pointed towards a bench not far away, "Let’s sit over there."
She then pulled An Sijia towards the bench, and An Ran had no choice but to follow, though she did not sit down.
"If you have something to say, say it quickly so I can go eat after," An Ran didn’t bother with previous courtesies with Sun Xuehui and her daughter anymore.
Sun Xuehui felt a bit awkward. She ran her hand through her hair and said, "An Ran, it’s like this. You know, today Jiajia came to register at Nan’an University, but her grades weren’t ideal. The Art College agreed to accept her, but we didn’t bring enough for the tuition fee."
As she spoke, Sun Xuehui glanced at An Ran’s expression. Seeing that she wasn’t angry, she continued, "You know, the Art College is Jiajia’s dream. We can’t let her lose this opportunity because of money, right? So, Mom wants to borrow some money from you."
In fact, by the time she was halfway through, An Ran had already understood their intention. Even so, hearing Sun Xuehui say it out loud caused a twinge of pain in her heart.
"How much?" An Ran said expressionlessly.
"Um, a hundred thousand."
"A hundred thousand?" An Ran repeated.
If Sun Xuehui had asked for two or three thousand, An Ran would have given her the money without hesitation. She never expected to get back money taken by Sun Xuehui and her daughter.
But to ask for a hundred thousand in one go.
When she herself enrolled, she spent over thirty thousand for tuition and other fees. If she spent frugally and took up a job during holidays, fifteen thousand would be just enough to cover her four years of university expenses.
But if she gave her a hundred thousand, there wouldn’t be enough to cover her next five years of study expenses, especially since she knew An Family wouldn’t give her more money.
"Sister, don’t say you don’t have it. The TV already reported that you earned a fifteen thousand prize for saving someone," An Sijia chimed in.
"Yeah, Ran, your mom said she’ll just borrow it. Do you think she wouldn’t pay you back? Besides, Mom raised you all these years, and now she’s only borrowing a hundred thousand. Are you really going to cling to that money and not want to help your sister?"
Initially, Sun Xuehui also felt uneasy about asking An Ran for money, but now that the request was made, she started feeling it was perfectly reasonable.
Looking at the face of this mother-daughter pair, An Ran only felt nauseous. As it had come to this, she didn’t want to owe An Family anything anymore. She took out a card from her wallet given by the Guard Team, which had exactly a hundred thousand on it.
