Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 80 - . Dark Room (by Foreign Figures)
Chapter 80 - 80. Dark Room (by Foreign Figures)
They had not shown us anything, not told us anything, and seeing the face of the soldier before me, he was short on just pushing me in the abyss.
To hell with laws, to hell with being a minor, we had lost all rights because we were prisoners.
The iron fence could be removed every half-meter, and I now saw down into the darkness.
Ah, there it was—the excitement I had so long waited for. As adrenalin made me giddy, the thought of slaughtering a few monsters and maybe humans aroused me quite a bit.
Following the rope on me with my eyes, I noticed that it was fixated on a big iron wheel standing far away. The wheel would slowly and automatically turn to give us more rope, to let us down. The rope now was just a bit loose.
I had the backpack on my shoulders, and turned my back to the abyss behind me. Raising my hands as if to fly, I looked at the soldiers eyeing me in the distance, and my soldier, who was losing his patience right before me.
Turning to the side, I saw Henry with a look that seemed like worry—can't say, too far away.
I stepped back with my arms raised, feeling like a king, like a god, as I was to let this world behind myself.
I let myself fall.
The thrill of falling and of my life being on the line, literally, as anybody could easily cut the rope up there made me excited beyond words.
The impact of my fall wasn't strong, the rope not as loose, as my feet soon landed on the earth wall. I was now at the beginning of my descent, already a few meters down.
"AH!" Someone screamed, and I saw someone in camouflage falling into the abyss. Following were a bunch of gunshots, and another man falling, it was one of the baldies.
"WHAT THE FUCK?" I yelled?
"YOU ALRIGHT KENNY?" Henry yelled back, his voice seemed far away.
The rope loosened more, letting me down deeper.
"YEAH! WHAT HAPPENED?" I SCREAMED BACK.
"NO IDEA!"
"OH."
"HOW FAR DOWN ARE YOU ALREADY?"
"NOT FAR, STOP YELLING!" What if his voice lured the monsters down there, or if some earth loosened or anything?
"OKAY! SEE YOU LATER!"
Hearing him yell again, I groaned in annoyance.
I jumped vertically along the wall, matching the timing of the rope, while holding on to it. Gloves would now be practical, but like this, I could only watch out for my fingers and palms, letting go at the right moment, before grabbing it again.
It seemed one of the baldies had thrown his soldier down, only for him to get shot. How dumb can someone be? What exactly was the outcome he had anticipated? Or had he just gotten cold feet?
The trip down continued; they had not stopped to let down the rope; apparently the plan was still going.
This damn descent continued until my feet were numb. When I looked up, I could not even perceive daylight. Now it was just pitch black, all around me. The moment I jumped down again, I couldn't even tell where 'up' or 'down' went.
I didn't like the darkness, and contemplated trying to get a flashlight, no idea if that would even work if I conjured it up because it would work with batteries, so it was somehow electronic? No idea.
However, as long as I had no light, nobody else had as well. The moment I used light, I would be visible and leave the safety of the dark. Now I somehow wished for Henry to yell again, to give me a feeling of realness.
I had approximately overcome a distance of a skyscraper when I felt something was wrong. It was difficult to take a breath, and my body felt strange. As if I were hung upside down, my blood flowing in the other direction with difficulty. Next was my stomach churning uncomfortably.
If my theory had been false, and there wasn't anybody coming back again from this hole, had they at least tried to send a rabbit down, looking if it was alive when they pulled it back up? Can't be that we all die because of some strange happenings while we descended, can't it?
Yet, I knew of this feeling, I remember it from the time I had before I had lost my consciousness when the deer had dragged us away through the first portal.
The portal should not be standing on the ground, this time, the hole itself should be the portal, or at least a region along it. My heart sped up, and I thought of what to conjure up that would lessen my fall if the rope ripped.
A helmet from playing baseball? A mattress that I had to somehow carry? Some inflatable seat or anything? A beanbag?

However, before I could think of anything, the rope ripped and I fell.
The pressure on my body intensified, and I could only think of cursing before losing consciousness.
'FUCK!'
**************
'Damn it, that hurts.' I blinked my eyes to look where I was, only for a water drop to enter them, making me blink furiously. It stung extremely.
Sitting up, I tried to look around, but not only my body hurt, my eye did as well. I pressed it shut with my hand to look around with my other eye.
This was a cave. My brain needed some time to possibly remember why I was here.
My whole chest area stung, and I felt like air was pressed out of me. There were a few rocks; I could see just well with my one eye; no one else there, no monsters.
Looking up, I was in for the next surprise, this cave had an intact ceiling, with a bunch of rocks hanging down, like in a stalactite cave. The air humidity was extremely high, and there was a fluid that dropped down, not sure if it was water, or something else.
The sharp rocks that hung from the ceiling and protruded out of the ground glowed strangely, giving me a good look.
I fought myself up, noticing that I had landed on my backpack. Trying to blink through my other eye again, I walked along the path in between the rocks, that seemed to lead somewhere.
My eye got better, and I could see normally when I saw a light that came from the exit of the cave.
I was sure to enter the black forest where the monster deer lived, anticipating to test my weapon finally.
But the closer I came to the exit, the less I could believe my eyes.
This was no fucking forest.
When I stood at the exit, I looked down at an endless landscape of trash.
No sun, no moon, undefinable light from the sky, and only trash lying around.
I had seen that scene somewhere before, but it was far in the future.
