Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 414. Stars
They moved in groups, the dark and pink rats interestingly moving in separate groups, yet close enough for me to fire in their general direction and hit them just fine.
The first few rats stopped approaching when struck, but the arrow gun had only so many arrows.
I conjured up the next one in my left hand when I was nearly out of arrows, to switch between them effortlessly.
"Give me an arrow gun as well," Henry said when the first ones lunged at the shield.
I conjured one for him and handed it over while continuing to fire.
"Are you sure?"
"Yeah, I have the shield under control." He accurately started firing at the rats latched onto the shield, so I didn’t have to shoot into the crowd anymore either, now that the target had come this close.
The shield was about three meters wide and high, exactly as we had seen in my vision, so they were dangerously close to us while trying to claw and climb the sphere.
But it was too smooth for the dark rats; not for the pink ones, however, who managed to halfway climb up the shield before sliding back to the ground.
The stream didn’t stop and continued to grow. Before we knew it, we were knee-deep, surrounded by rats climbing over each other, trying in every way to get closer to my blood—the power they desired.
The first batch of rats looked very similar to the ones on the official website, but the more that came, the more they differed.
The dark rats looked nearly the same, with their sparse fur, rat-like skull, and skinny dog-like body, but the same couldn’t be said for the pink ones.
Just like inside the tunnel, there were pink mice, brown ferret-like rats, and mostly small animals.
I think I even saw a pink rat that had taken the form of a chihuahua.
Interestingly, they all had eyes, although very disturbing ones, unlike the worm-turned-pink child from that night, who didn’t have any.
The continuous firing with the arrow guns did nothing to reduce their number.
"If you can’t get rid of the living ones today when we have enough, we’ll lure them to some other place, and I’ll splatter some blood. While you safeguard my blood inside a shield, I’ll come back here to touch the corpses."
Henry chuckled.
"No worries; I practiced a killer move last night. We will get rid of all of them today. I am just waiting for every little rat to gather here."
"Oh? I can’t wait to see!" I continued to fire but glanced briefly at Henry’s smug face behind me.
"In any case, leave enough power aside so you can teleport. I don’t want to carry your exhausted ass out of here."
"You care so much about my ass~" He laughed, and I rolled my eyes as he continued.
"But why do you sound as if you don’t believe in my killer move? Arrow gun."
I let the arrow gun in his hand disappear and raised my hand holding another.
"Pfft, I don’t know, because you call it a ’killer move’?"
He snatched it and continued to fire.
"Aaah! It’s not a name; it is a fact!"
However, no matter how much we shot, the number of rats soon reached my hips, and I started to get frustrated with the inadequate weapons at hand.
"Fuck this." I conjured up two real guns and started to fire.
The arrows would strike one rat, maybe two, but the bullets could take out more.
Since they were climbing over each other, consequently behind one another, one fired bullet would go through more than one body—I think realistically, about seven or so rats could be taken out that way.
And I felt more comfortable using real guns in both hands and firing them simultaneously than using two bulkier arrow guns.
"Give me some as well!" Henry whined.
So the next time my guns were empty, I conjured up another set and handed them to Henry first before getting another two for myself.
We should now look like the protagonists of the most cringe-worthy action movie, both of us holding guns in each hand.
Anyway, like this, we produced some results—NOPE, we did not.
Not at all.
No results whatsoever, other than the stream turning into a sea.
We drowned and drowned in rats before being buried under them completely.
I reassured myself that it was like my vision, that it was inevitable.
Yet when I stood inside the sphere and saw the bodies coiling on each side of said sphere and on top of it, it didn’t matter how prepared I had been.
It was suffocating.
It would be pitch-black inside here if it weren’t for our night sight.
Not only was this an enclosed space, but... the bodies that moved and wriggled like worms all around us... The action movie had turned into a horror movie.
Everywhere you looked was moving, squirming flesh.
And the slight squeaking they produced—the sound of bodies over bodies, buried by bodies—was REPULSIVE.
"Kenny, breathe. It’s alright. You can teleport out of here at any time."
"Mhm... How are you so calm?" I asked.
"Isn’t that like the rathole?" It reminded me so much of that dark hamster cage buried under the ground, although most of the bodies there had already been dead.
"Oh, I did remember; we didn’t call it rathole back then, but hellhole; we both got it wrong." He shrugged languidly.
"Is that the fuck important right now?"
He kissed the top of my head before taking the two new guns I conjured up from my hands, letting the empty ones fall on the ground for me to put back in the past.
"I haven’t used my killer move yet, and I am really eager for you to see. So I am not calm; I am full of anticipation."
"That I’ll praise you?" I chuckled.
"That you’ll praise me." He confirmed with a laugh.
"Let’s play a game; we haven’t played one until now. By the way, the game console you got for your birthday rots inside our closet after the one time you used it."
"BAHAHAHA! Next, you tell me it had been years since I used it." Technically it had been two years; for me, it was not even a month.
"It had been years." He nodded.
"How could you treat my gift so carelessly?"
"Yeah, yeah, I played with it once and threw it in the closet for years; I got it. What do you want to play?" 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂
"I spy with my little eye~," Henry chanted in a singsong voice.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
"I spy with my little eye~ something pink."
"Stop the shit, or I’ll throw you out of the sphere." I conjured new weapons before putting the old ones back.
I didn’t give him the chance to bullshit some more and directly asked,
"How many did we shoot already? What do you guess?"
Henry sighed at my uncooperativeness to play.
"A few hundred?"
"That’s enough. I want this finished; do what you wanted to do."
"What did I want to do?"
"Get it over with, oh mighty puppy; please show your ultimate killer move."
"If you say so... Look at that." He let the guns in his hand fall and hugged me so that I could have a good look at his hands.
He conjured up a bout of shadowy energy in his hand.
Parting the dark energy, he had two bouts of energy; parting the two, he had four; parting the four, eight little shadows danced above his hands.
"Not bad..." I commented and watched him continue to part the dark fog.
He parted and parted, and the energy didn’t become more, but they grew in number... this was...
...beyond cool.
"I wanted to use the crystals as bullets, but it didn’t work. Then I thought, I’ll use it on my power of destruction instead." He spoke softly in my ear, his deep voice sounding so overwhelmingly sure of himself that I felt it much easier to breathe.
"What a clever little puppy I have there. You want to shoot them in each direction?"
"Mhm." He kissed my head and breathed in deeply in a very creepy way.
"Can you attach them to the sphere instead? Not fully covering it, just hovering above at a distance of a few centimeters? They didn’t say how complete the corpses had to be; as long as you can identify them, it should be enough."
"...I wish I had thought of that." He responded reluctantly, the thousand little black dots in his hands wandering up like black stars surrounding us.
"Ahahah, what a master would I be if I let my smart little puppy do everything on his own?" I watched the black stars wander up to the wriggling flesh as they passed through the shield seamlessly.
Just as I had told him to, he positioned them at hand’s distance all over the sphere.
This time, contrary to the shooting, we could hear and see an instant result.
Squeaking, bodies fell, other bodies crawled over them, more squeaking, more bodies falling.
Soon, at the top of the sphere, a little window formed, showing the sky above through the crystalline shield that was smeared with blood.
Henry stumbled a bit to the side, and I instantly turned around to catch him.
"Are you alright?"
"Yeah." He said so but seemed a bit pale.
I tilted my head and presented him with my neck.
"Go on, that’s why I am here. Take a bite."
Henry licked his lips involuntarily and brought a hand over his face.
"I won’t decline then..."
He hugged me in an embrace that felt as if my whole body was engulfed by him.
Yet, instead of biting me, he smashed his lips on mine, his tongue licking at the slit between my lips, demanding entry.
I opened my mouth as if it were the most natural thing, simultaneously pushing my tongue out to taste his and feel him.
Tilting my head to the side, he turned his head as well to gain more access.
I shivered, my heartbeat accelerating, at his amazing smell, at the gentle force he used when handling me.
Fuck...
My brain instantly went on autopilot, my senses heightening and focusing on him and only him when he suddenly let go.
I opened my eyes, looking in his dazed ones, seeing him grin breathtakingly.
I smiled back at the disobedient puppy when he suddenly acted and sank his teeth into my neck.
Like a fucking vampire, drinking the blood of its beloved prey, he pressed my body close to his, sucking on me as if he wanted to leave his mark behind.
What the hell am I even thinking?
In movies, it is hella sexy, but in reality, drinking blood just hurts... yet... I can’t believe that someone drinking my blood could be such a turn-on, but it was.
Though it could have been what we did before, or it was just everything together.
When he let go and leaned back, he had a blissful look on his face, his eyes briefly shining in a silver hue before the blue returned.
"Are you alright?" I didn’t really know what to think of the silver color, and especially not if I saw such a change occur before my eyes.
"Mhm." He lowered his head and returned to the spot on my neck, but instead of taking another bite, he licked over the already closed wound, like a puppy asking for forgiveness.
"Pfft, it’s alright. Your eyes turned silver again after for a short moment." I patted his head, taking deep breaths myself to calm the excitement in me down again.
Henry just hummed, uninterested and busy with something else.
The rats were continuously killing themselves by crawling onto the sphere laced with black stars, partly acidifying their bodies, and then sliding down and further slicing themselves as they fell.
Well, the bodies won’t be in very good condition, but I’ll take it like with money bills.
If a money bill is damaged but there is over fifty percent of the bill intact, you can exchange it for a whole new bill at the bank.
So let’s just go with bodies that will be about fifty percent complete; what suffices for a bank has to suffice for the government.
