Flash Marriage: Pampered by Mr.Bigshot-Chapter 498 - 497: I Don’t Have a Grandson as Old as You
Owen Lewis adjusted his clothes and followed the young disciple inside.
Stepping into the Davidson Martial Arts Academy, an intense and formidable atmosphere instantly hit him.
Within the courtyard, disciples stood on either side, each with a stern expression.
On a chair in the center sat the old master of the Davidson Martial Arts Academy.
At the old master’s side stood Annie Davidson.
The sight of Owen Lewis steadily approaching, step by step, made Annie’s heart skip a beat. It was as if her preordained Prince Charming was stepping on auspicious clouds, approaching her, each step fated.
Owen Lewis calmly approached, looking straight into Grandpa Davidson’s eyes.
"Hello, Grandfather."
Hearing this, Grandpa Davidson angrily rose to his feet.
"Don’t call me Grandfather! I don’t have a grandson as old as you!"
Owen Lewis was taken aback for a moment, then he just smiled, not letting the outburst bother him.
"So, you want to marry my Annie? You’ll have to see if my more than one hundred disciples agree first."
At the mention of his more than one hundred disciples, they responded with a thunderous "HA!" in unison.
The atmosphere around them instantly became tense, compelling awe and a sense of dread.
"So, Grandpa, what do you mean by this? We’re already married." Trying to make things difficult for him now seemed a bit too late.
"A marriage without a certificate isn’t a real marriage!"
Grandpa Davidson glared at the young man who had dared to set his sights on his granddaughter. Just one look at him and it’s clear he’s all show and no substance. That face—a typical pretty boy! And that build? He probably doesn’t even know basic fighting stances. How could he protect my granddaughter? How could he inherit my Davidson Martial Arts Academy? No, absolutely not. This boy isn’t fit for my granddaughter, no matter how you look at it. He fails! Utterly fails!
Upon hearing Grandpa Davidson’s words, Owen Lewis reached into his pocket and pulled out a red booklet.
"Who said we didn’t get a marriage certificate?"
He was grinning broadly, looking incredibly smug. The red booklet in his hand was, in fact, a marriage certificate.
Grandpa Davidson’s eyes widened dramatically. A marriage certificate? No... it couldn’t be. He still had the household registration booklet with him, so what on earth was this marriage certificate?
Annie, also somewhat surprised upon seeing the marriage certificate, immediately stepped forward and took it.
The large words ’Marriage Certificate’ seemed to swim before her eyes. Opening it, she saw a photo of her and Owen Lewis pasted in the upper right corner.
Both of their names were printed on it.
Under ’Certificate Holder,’ her name was printed.
"You’re too much!" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Annoyed, Annie stomped hard on Owen Lewis’s foot. Then, ignoring his pained grimace, she snatched the marriage certificate from him.
He really is... Getting a marriage certificate is something two people are supposed to do together, hand in hand, going to the Civil Affairs Bureau, following all the procedures, taking their vows, and then receiving the certificate. Isn’t that how marriage is supposed to be? How did it turn into... this, for her? Honestly, this Owen Lewis... He’s so infuriating!
Looking at the marriage certificate in Annie’s hand, Grandpa Davidson’s face flushed with anger. He snatched it away, opened it, and scrutinized it.
"You little scoundrel!"
Grandpa Davidson was fuming. This... this...
"Without the household registration booklet, how did you manage this? It can’t be fake, can it?"
Grandpa Davidson was highly skeptical.
"Grandfather, it’s real. It’s registered at the Civil Affairs Bureau," Annie said.
It was perfectly normal for Grandpa Davidson to doubt its authenticity, but Annie didn’t doubt the certificate’s validity in the slightest. Given Owen Lewis’s capabilities, obtaining this certificate would have been a trivial matter for him, something he could do with a flick of his wrist.
"You..."
Grandpa Davidson was livid. That rascal! That rascal! That rascal!
