Flash Marriage, Deep Love-Chapter 84 I Want to Remarry You (2)
Chapter 84: Chapter 84 I Want to Remarry You (2)
On the way, Li Bing’s heartbeat accelerated with the speed of the car and gradually returned to normal as the speed decreased, as if riding a roller coaster, with waves of intense heartbeats.
Upon hearing this, Mi Wan’s lips curled into a slight smile, and she said, feeling quite good, "There was a time when I really loved racing cars."
Actually, her driving skills were taught by Ji Dongquan, hand-in-hand. Although she had a relatively quiet personality, she very much enjoyed the thrill that speed brought. During the time they were together, they would occasionally race up the mountain to look at the night scenery...
It had been a long time since she drove fast, the exhilaration from racing lifted Mi Wan’s mood, but it didn’t take long for the overwhelming waves of memories to drown out that thrill, and a faint sadness washed over Mi Wan’s heart.
No matter how beautiful it was in the past, everything had changed now. The memories were still so clear and complete, as if they had just happened yesterday, but compared to the bleak reality, there was only a faint sadness.
She was no longer sixteen or seventeen, no longer naively fantasizing, and that fairytale-like love had long since gone far away from her.
After a brief conversation, the car became quiet. Li Bing looked at Mi Wan’s side profile, which was tinged with melancholy, and sensibly chose not to speak. Her gaze then fell on Li Mei beside her. Seeing Mei’s eyes filled with sorrow and desolation, her heart involuntarily tightened.
A few minutes later, the car slowly drove into the villa area. Once the car stopped, Mi Wan swept away her earlier loneliness, mustered her spirits and turned around to say with a smile to Li Bing, "Bingbing, you and Mei don’t get out of the car yet, I’ll go open the gate and drive the car inside."
Unfastening her seatbelt, Mi Wan got out of the car with the keys, then opened the gate.
The car drove into the front yard. Li Bing and Li Mei got out of the car one after the other. Mi Wan took out the luggage from the trunk and walked in front, leading the two sisters inside the house.
"You guys sit down first, I’ll go see if there’s anything in the fridge to eat."
It had been several days since she last came back. Even though the house had been transferred to her name, she hadn’t returned. She only had people from a housekeeping company come over to clean, specifically requesting that the bed and bed linens in the main bedroom be removed.
Yes, she minded. How could her house have a bed that had been slept in by another woman?
"Wan."
Mi Wan turned and walked a few steps when Li Bing suddenly called out, so she stopped and turned back to look at Li Bing.
"I really don’t know how to thank you. If there’s anything I can help with in the future, don’t hesitate to ask." Li Bing said gratefully.
Mi Wan smiled, only nodding lightly.
There were only a few bottles of beer and drinks left in the fridge, so Mi Wan went out to a nearby supermarket to buy some groceries and daily necessities. After settling Li Bing and Li Mei, she drove away.
Xuanxuan finishes school at four-thirty. After leaving the villa area, Mi Wan drove directly to the kindergarten. Due to a traffic jam, by the time she arrived at the kindergarten, most of the kids had already left. The only people at the gate were the security uncle, a few kids waiting for their parents, and some young female teachers accompanying them.
"Teacher Liu, where’s Xuanxuan?"
Looking around, Mi Wan didn’t see her daughter, so she walked to the teacher who was playing with her phone and asked anxiously.
Having gone through the incident of Xuanxuan being kidnapped, Mi Wan was still traumatized. Though Xuanxuan was fortunate not to be hurt or scared, Mi Wan was quite shaken. The thought of her daughter going missing sent a chill down her spine.
"Mr. Song picked her up. Didn’t he tell you?" The teacher looked up at Mi Wan, her expression mixed with some surprise.
"Oh, I see. Thank you, teacher."
After saying goodbye to the teacher, Mi Wan hurriedly got into her car and took out her phone, her face stern as she called Song Guotao.
"Why didn’t you tell me in advance that you picked up Xuanxuan?" As soon as the call connected, Mi Wan coldly questioned.
"I forgot."
How could he forget something as simple and routine as making a phone call?
Hearing the matter-of-fact tone in Song Guotao’s voice, Mi Wan’s attitude became even colder. She asked, "Where is Xuanxuan now?"
"She’s at my place."
Upon hearing this, Mi Wan took a deep breath, trying to suppress the anger and disgust in her heart. She asked, "Where is your place? I’ll go pick up Xuanxuan!"
"Don’t worry, Xuanxuan is having a great time here, and she’ll be staying tonight. You don’t need to come; I’ll take her to kindergarten tomorrow."
Were it not for her eagerness to find her daughter, Mi Wan wouldn’t waste time arguing with Song Guotao. After a few more words, finding the conversation unbearable, Mi Wan shouted coldly, "Let me speak to Xuanxuan!"
"She’s not here."
"Song Guotao, what exactly do you want?" Mi Wan was enraged. However, instead of yelling, she gritted her teeth and asked in a low voice.
"Wanwan, I want to remarry you." Song Guotao said slowly and clearly, one word at a time.
"..."
Mi Wan was speechless. Facing such a shameless man, she couldn’t find any fitting words to counterattack. Holding the phone tightly, she wanted to hang up immediately, but thinking of Xuanxuan, she held back.
"...Where are you? Bring Xuanxuan, and we’ll talk in person." After careful consideration, Mi Wan leaned back wearily in her seat and then pressed her temples.
After arranging the meeting place, Mi Wan casually tossed her phone onto the passenger seat. Once the car was turned around onto the road, she hit the gas, speeding off again.
Sichuan Restaurant.
This place was somewhere they used to occasionally eat before Mi Wan and Song Guotao divorced. Therefore, Mi Wan knew the owner, and didn’t have to wait. Seeing her come, the owner immediately had the waiter prepare a private room for her.
"Miss Mi, why are you alone today? Where are your husband and daughter?" It was not yet the dinner rush, so the place was relatively empty. Seeing Mi Jing alone, the owner enthusiastically struck up a conversation.
"They’re on their way." Mi Wan was in a bad mood, but she forced a faint smile in response to the owner’s warmth.
After a bit of small talk, with Song Guotao not having arrived yet, Mi Wan entered the private room first. Drinking the bitter tea, she felt like her heart was also bitter.
"Mommy."
Mi Wan’s wandering thoughts were brought back by a sweet call. She looked up abruptly, seeing Xuanxuan being carried in by Song Guotao, her face beaming with happiness. A touch of gloom passed through Mi Wan’s eyes. She then put on a stern face and said seriously, "Xuanxuan, why didn’t you tell Mommy when you went with Daddy? That would make Mommy very worried, you know?"
Xuanxuan obediently nodded and said, "I know. I asked Daddy to call you, but his phone ran out of battery, and then he forgot."
