Chapter 63: Bargaining

"Since it’s Young Master asking, then I will give it to you for 500 Lesser Grade Mana Crystals only." She sweetly smiled and picked up the bracelet to pack it.

"200 Mana Crystals," Orion said with the same smile on his face.

The young woman’s hand paused. "Ah, haha, Young Master, you make funny jokes. How can it be so cheap? The most I can do is 450 Mana Crystals."

Orion shook his head. "They seem quite old and worn out. And I can buy a completely new one for 600–700 Lesser Grade Mana Crystals. The most I will give is 250 Mana Crystals."

The young woman quickly shook her head. "No, no, no. I also need to feed myself and my paralyzed mother at home, Young Master. My father is a drunkard, and I pay for all the bills at home." Her gaze turned misty, and she nearly sobbed. "T-the most I can do is 400 Mana Crystals."

"Alright then, we’ll call it a deal with 300 Mana Crystals." Orion nodded his head and motioned for Edgar to pay it.

The young woman looked conflicted before she heaved a sigh. "Then I hope you will come here more often to purchase stuff." She quickly packed it up and presented it to Orion.

"Sure, sure. I will come here whenever I visit the market." He smilingly nodded and put away the box in his storage ring.

The young woman’s eyes flashed when she saw the storage ring on his hand. Her smile became much warmer. "Do you need anything else, Young Master? I have a lot of goodies here."

She enthusiastically began advertising her wares. Orion looked through them and bought a few more things.

At the end, the young woman smiled happily. "Happy doing business with you, Young Master. Hope you come here often."

Orion waved his hand and left.

After walking some distance away from the stall, he shook his head. "She really was a fox."

Edgar raised an eyebrow. "Oh? You realized it too, Young Master?"

Orion looked at him with slight confusion. "Realized what? I said it due to how she acte— oh wait, she was actually a Foxkin?"

Edgar nodded his head. "Yes, she had just hidden her True Body, otherwise she would have been ten times more charming. The majority of Foxkins are absolute beauties, after all."

Orion gave him a side glance. "You sound quite experienced."

Edgar chuckled. "Of course not, these are just some things I heard."

They both laughed and continued walking leisurely, Orion’s Eye of Revelation continually scanning the surrounding stalls.

He noticed many items emitting stronger auras that tantalizingly hinted at greater treasures, but their details remained elusive.

Despite the limitation, his enthusiasm didn’t diminish; rather, he felt motivated to enhance his strength quickly, eager to fully unlock the Eye’s potential.

Orion’s steps paused abruptly at an antique weaponry stall, eyes drawn to a dusty, seemingly ordinary longsword. He activated his Eye once more.

’Hmm... Soulpiercer and Bonesteel are both way above my level. They would suck my mana dry if I try to wield them. But this... this should be good enough for now. And from its dusty appearance, the vendor doesn’t realize it’s actually a treasure.’

Suppressing a delighted smile, Orion casually picked it up, turning toward the bored-looking vendor. "How much for this sword?"

The vendor glanced dismissively. "Hmm, that? It’s been here forever. Let’s say a hundred Lesser Grade Mana Crystals?"

Orion swiftly had Edgar pay him, happily storing quite a good hidden treasure. Edgar nodded approvingly, recognizing Orion’s increasingly sharp eye for spotting value beneath superficial appearances.

"Enjoying yourself, Young Master?" Edgar teased gently, eyes sparkling with amusement.

"More than I expected," Orion admitted, smiling contentedly. "This marketplace truly hides gems among the ordinary."

Edgar chuckled softly, nodding knowingly. "Indeed. Such skills will serve you well throughout your journey."

Time passed swiftly as Orion visited more stalls, occasionally discovering useful minor treasures while secretly lamenting his inability to identify higher-tier items more clearly.

After thoroughly exploring multiple stalls and purchasing several interesting trinkets, Orion finally decided it was enough for the day. He glanced toward Edgar, his eyes filled with faint satisfaction.

"I think that’s enough treasure hunting for now," Orion stated with a smile. "Though I’m tempted to come here every day."

Edgar laughed heartily. "I wouldn’t blame you. Your talent for discovering hidden gems is impressive. The capital holds many more opportunities if you know where to look."

Orion nodded, already planning future visits mentally. "Let’s go, then. I want to explore other parts of the city before the day ends."

[Master, you were brilliant today! Even with limitations, you still managed to find some useful treasures! (>▽<)]

Orion chuckled inwardly. ’Thanks, Lumi. It’s just the beginning. Once I get stronger, these limitations will disappear.’

[I have no doubt, Master! Soon, no treasures will hide from your mighty eyes! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ]

Returning to the carriage, Lucan welcomed them back cheerfully. "Found any good treasures, Young Master?" he teased lightly.

"More than expected," Orion replied mysteriously, smirking slightly.

Lucan laughed heartily, steering the carriage back into the busy streets. "Well then, onto our next adventure! Where shall we go next?"

Orion considered briefly before looking at Edgar. "Is there any place where I can find slaves?"

Edgar raised an eyebrow. "You want to buy a slave, Young Master?"

"Ayy, now we talking, that’s the life to live. On to the Slave Market!" Lucan excitedly laughed and rolled his carriage onward.

"So there is a slave market here, huh?" Orion curiously looked at Edgar, ignoring his previous question.

Edgar nodded his head. "Yes, Young Master. There is a Slave Market here, and nobles often go there to buy slaves. But you... do you really want slaves? You just need to give the word and the daughters of nobles will throw themselves at you."

Orion’s lips twitched. "I’m looking for someone, not for a sex slave. And I fear she might be at the slave market."

Realization dawned on Edgar. "Ah, I see. Do you have a description of her? Or what species she is from?"

"There are multiple species in the slave market?" he curiously asked. He had already expected it, but still, hearing about it felt different.

"Yes," Edgar nodded. "There are slaves from all over the Zorathal Continent. After all, there are wars and battles happening all the time—cities getting destroyed, survivors running all around to look for shelter. Sigh..." he heaved a sigh at the end.

Orion nodded. "Then let’s head there. Maybe we can really find her there."

"Don’t worry, Young Master. If who you are looking for is a slave in the Capital, then she must be in the Slave Market."

Orion nodded and looked out of the window as the carriage traveled to a less crowded part of the fourth ring slowly.

Lucan skillfully maneuvered the carriage deeper into the less-traveled streets of the fourth ring, guiding it through winding alleys until they reached a secluded corner.
