First Immortal of the Sword-Chapter 2099 - The Gods March Into Battle
Chapter 2099 - The Gods March Into Battle
Boom!
A grand battle raged over the ferry crossing.
Sword qi crisscrossed in midair, and divine radiance ran amok.
Su Yi’s blue robes billowed around him, and with every swing of his arm, chaos sword qi shot forth, ripping the skies asunder.
His opponent was the little monkey... Well, the monkey wasn’t so little at the moment. Its frame had expanded to an enormous height, with three heads and six arms and eyes that blazed like fire.
Although it fought bare-handed, its six hands filled the sky with a dense, raging storm of palm imprints. They came crashing down like pelting rain, slamming into Su Yi with utterly tyrannical, terrifying force.
Kaboom!
The sky collapsed with a bang.
The fist imprints were imbued with the power of an unparalleled innate bloodline ability, and they crushed every last one of Su Yi’s attacks.
The little monkey’s ferocious aura swept outward, blanketing heaven and earth as it counterattacked relentlessly. It was like a god of war!
Su Yi fought with all his might, but a good while passed and he still couldn’t take the little monkey down!
His strength had increased numerous times of late, and he could already contend with Greater Gods. It was just that the little monkey’s transformation was even more startling. When it used Three Heads, Six Arms, it was incomparably fierce. Su Yi couldn’t gain even the slightest advantage against it.
But that only made the battle all the more satisfying and delightful. It had been far too long since Su Yi had fought someone of equal strength. Moreover, he wouldn’t have guessed that it would be the little monkey who ignited his will to fight. This was an absolutely delightful surprise.
“Again!” Su Yi let out a long roar. His hair billowed in the wind, and he leaped into the fray, his sword qi connecting heaven and earth with ever-greater intensity.
Every punch, every palm, every slash was imbued with dense, chaos-like sword intent of startling power.
The little monkey was obviously excited, too. Its will to fight blazed, and it struck with all its might.
The two of them fought with ever greater intensity, neither of them backing down. Their battle was a grand, astonishing spectacle.
As the battle raged on, the monkey’s arms revolved in a swastika pattern, and its six hands made seals. At the same time, it roared, its voice booming like spring thunder.
Boom!!
The little monkey’s massive frame was instantly as intensely radiant as fire, like an eruption of divine light. As its six arms revolved, a blazing sun took shape between them.
It burned with searing, immeasurable heat, melting the sky. An all-encompassing, explosive, destructive power swept outward.
When the little monkey’s strike landed, it was like the sun slamming into the mortal world.
Bang!!
Su Yi defended himself with all his might, only to be sent ruthlessly flying, his skin burned in numerous places. Even his soul was racked with searing pain.
He couldn’t help but find this surprising. This has to be one of the little monkey’s newly awakened innate talents!
“What’s that ability’s name?” asked Su Yi.
“Master, this is one of the divine abilities of my bloodline. It’s called the Divine Cycle of the Sun!” explained the little monkey. “I strike with the power of a burning sun; my hands revolve around it, burning the heavens and melting the Dao. This ability can smite all malevolent forces.”
Su Yi said approvingly, “Not bad! Got anything else to show me?”
“Yes!” said the monkey. It shifted on its feet, expanding until it was even taller. A waterfall of chaos qi poured down around it, and its imposing aura rose.
Boom!
It raised six arms, each as thick as a mountain, and shattered the very sky itself. The terrifying power of its blood and qi erupted, seemingly intent on reducing creation to a pulp.
Su Yi’s gaze focused, and he dared not be negligent. He drew upon the mightiest ability at his disposal without the slightest hesitation, sending monstrous sword qi sweeping through the sky.

The little monkey’s six arms moved in a tumultuous flurry. No matter how tyrannical Su Yi’s offensive was, the monkey blocked and neutralized it all.
And when the little monkey fought back, every punch was like that of a primordial yao god. It left Su Yi with no choice but to dodge.
Its fist force was just that terrifying! It was even more ferocious than some Greater Gods!
“And what divine ability is this?”
“The Magic of Cosmic Imitation!”
“Just what I thought. Well then, go ahead and test my Reincarnation Sword Dao!”
...As they conversed, Su Yi unleashed the power of reincarnation and leaped into the fray.
Heaven and earth swayed, and visions of reincarnation rose and fell. Countless streaks of sword qi whooshed through the air, repeatedly forcing the little monkey back. Bloody wounds had started accumulating all over its massive body.
In the end, the little monkey was obviously frantic, and it unleashed yet another seemingly taboo divine ability.
The naturally formed Dao Marking that appeared like a vertical eye on its forehead opened without warning and fired a beam of gray light.
Where the light passed, the collapsing skies stood still. It was as if all of creation were frozen in that moment, sealed completely.
Even time and space seemed frozen!
In that moment, Su Yi felt a rare sense of an impending crisis. He cast aside all other thoughts and attacked with all his might.
Bang!
Sword qi exploded into being, only to be instantaneously sealed in place, inch by inch. When Su Yi circulated his cultivation base, sword qi continuously gathered and expanded with domineering force.
The whole world stood still, save for Su Yi’s charging figure.
It was an incomparably strange scene. The gray beam of light shooting from the monkey’s forehead sealed the entire stretch of creation. All was still.
Even Su Yi was under a terrifying sense of oppression, like a fish soon to be encased in ice. It was only when he attacked with all his might that he could gradually shatter that sealing power.
Finally, a massive impact rang out, and Su Yi swung his sword, cleaving through that gray light!
But he too suffered a terrifying impact. That flood of destructive power sent him flying, and blood flowed from the corners of his mouth.
The little monkey staggered back, now just around ten feet tall once more. A low, muffled grunt escaped its lips.
There was no doubt about it. When Su Yi broke its divine ability, it suffered the resulting backlash.
“Again!”
“Okay!”
......
A full hour later.
Su Yi lay on the ground, breathing in ragged gasps, his hair disheveled and his body completely covered in blood. He looked utterly wretched.
The little monkey sat there too, its fur smeared with blood and its face beaten black and blue. Its skin was covered in sword wounds.
It grimaced as it gulped down a medicinal herb. Then, it shot Su Yi a tentative glance. “Master, you’re not mad at me... right?”
Su Yi shook his head. “In a competition of the Grand Dao, you naturally have to give it your all. Only then will the battle be satisfying. If anything, I’m thrilled—how could I possibly be angry with you?”
The little monkey grinned. It could finally relax.
Su Yi, meanwhile, sat down cross-legged and started tending to his wounds.
He hadn’t borrowed any external power during their battle, but he’d displayed his Hidden Summit Realm cultivation without holding anything back. He was now all but certain that he really could contend with Fortune Realm Greater Gods now; even if he couldn’t win, he could at least fight back.
But what really surprised Su Yi was the little monkey’s strength. It had broken into the Limit Realm, becoming a Mid-Rank God, but its strength was incomparably heaven-defying. It could actually compete with Fortune Realm Greater Gods, and each of its three innate divine abilities was more terrifying than the one before.
They were, respectively, the Divine Cycle of the Sun, the Magic of Cosmic Imitation, and the Eye of Annihilation!
And these were just the abilities awakened thus far. As its cultivation base rose and it further excavated its potential, it was sure to awaken new ones!
After learning all this, how could Su Yi not be surprised? The monkey was a clear example of how terrifying natural-born divinities were!
......
Three days later, Su Yi’s wounds had fully knit back together, and his cultivation base had advanced considerably. He was now even closer to the peak of the Hidden Summit Realm.
“Strange. I’ve been here for two weeks, but no one else has come from the Ancient God Domain,” murmured Su Yi. He stroked his jaw contemplatively.
He’d originally planned to set up camp at the ferry base and wait for more foolish prey to fall into his lap. Now, it seemed he’d have to give up on the idea.
It wasn’t hard to guess why no one else was showing up. His opponents in the Ancient god Domain had to know that he could use the Epoch Spark to control the Three Thousand Divine Pillars, and by extension, the Laws of the entire area!
“Very well. It’s time I visited the Ancient God Domain.” Su Yi quickly reached a decision.
That very day, he and the little monkey entered the celestial vortex and vanished from the Deification Star Sea.
......
The Ancient God Domain.
A towering, ancient divine mountain stood in a stretch of heaven and earth shrouded in chaos.
Chaotic spacetime currents flowed behind it, permeated with chaos qi.
A seemingly endless black plain stood before it. It was so lifeless and barren that not even grass could grow here.
The mountain had a highly distinctive name: Heaven’s End!
The name was chosen because upon reaching this divine mountain, one could advance no further. Only endless turbulent spacetime lay beyond the mountain!
The dome of heaven ended here, too, hence the name: “Heaven’s End.”
The seemingly endless black plain, meanwhile, was known as the Godless Plains!
When outsiders came to the Ancient God Domain from the Deification Star Sea, they were sent directly to Heaven’s End Divine Mountain.
But now, the endless Plains of Divine Severing were completely covered in human figures. They were densely clustered, and most of them were gods!
Some rode divine birds, while others stood atop divine treasures or sat upright on lotus platforms. Still others stood proudly atop auspicious clouds.
Each had a more terrifying aura than the one before!
Upon closer inspection, these thousands upon thousands of gods all hailed from different factions. They arrived here in large numbers, clustering into various groups and covering the entire area. It seemed they were waiting for something.
The dome of heaven was shrouded in dense, dark clouds. An austere aura hung in the air.
The auras emanating from the countless gods lent an additional oppressive quality to the atmosphere. It made the black, lifeless plains seem even more stifled.
Suddenly, time and space rumbled at the peak of Heaven’s End. Firelight circulated, outlining a spacetime portal.
The gods instantly stopped what they were doing, their eyes flashing with cold lightning as they gazed at the portal from afar.
There was an ancient ritual ground atop Heaven’s End. The spacetime portal appeared at its center.
Then, beneath countless rapt gazes, a tall, upright figure sauntered out of the portal and arrived on the platform. He was dressed in blue, with the extraordinary, ethereal air of one who’d risen out of the dust.
“It’s him!!”
“He’s finally come!”
The Godless Plains were instantly in uproar. No matter their camp of origin, the gods gathered here took to the skies. All of them shot toward Heaven’s End.
An army of gods marched into battle, their combined auras sweeping forth like the tides, enveloping both heaven and earth!
Their murderous intent shook the entire landscape!
An old saying went, “When the heavens plot your demise, the stars and constellations shift. When the earth wishes you dead, dragons and serpents rise from its depths.”
But when gods exuded murderous intent, heaven and earth shook, and the Grand Dao let out a mournful wail!
