Chapter 2093 - Cooperating with Me Is Your Honor

The battleship was towering and grand, like a divine mountain traveling through the stars with fierce momentum. Even just gazing upon it from afar was enough to put intense pressure on someone.

“That’s the Qin Family’s warship, Starchaser!”

“They say the battleship is manifested from a peak Epoch Treasure, and that when it’s activated at full power, it can kill even gods!”

“The Qin Family? Don’t tell me...”

...Numerous discussions broke out, and soon, everyone was looking at Su Yi.

Who could possibly have forgotten how Su Yi had used the Staff of Divine Punishment to beat Qin Wenxiao to death in the City of the Beginning? There was no doubt about it: The Qin Family had brought Starchaser here on account of Su Yi!

Many of the gods inwardly gloated over his misfortune.

But then, out of nowhere, Su Yi said calmly, ”Should conflict arise, fend it off for me.”

“!!!”

The gods felt the urge to jump and scream and curse his mother. They were practically mad with fury.

“You can say no if you want, but if a battle starts, I won’t concern myself with the divine children’s safety,” said Su Yi. He took a leisurely sip of wine.

“You....” No matter how even-tempered they were, all of the gods gnashed their teeth so hard they almost shattered.

Starchaser, meanwhile, approached a little more, then stopped in the distance. A group of people appeared at the helm. They all had terrifying auras, especially the red-robed, white-haired man leading the group. He was a Greater God!

“Hm? Fellow Daoist Ren Beiyou? Haha! So, you’re here too. Wonderful!” The red-robed, white-haired man recognized Ren Beiyou, Wen Xiao, and many of the other Greater Gods. He was clearly delighted to see them, too.

“If I’m not mistaken, you’re here to take Su Yi down too, right?” the red-robed, white-haired man asked with a smile.

When Su Yi saw this, he instantly understood. The Greater Gods must have secretly made contact with the factions of the Path of the Ancient Gods back in the City of the Beginning. Otherwise, there was no way this Qin Family expert would have recognized them at a glance, nor would he have expressed such warmth and familiarity.

“Umm...” Ren Beiyou and the other gods looked uncertain. How are we supposed to respond to that?

“What? Don’t tell me I’m mistaken?” The red-robed, white-haired man’s smile faded as he realized that something was amiss.

Ren Beiyou coughed dryly. “Daoist Brother, the situation is a bit complicated. Please, let me ex—“

“Let me talk,” Su Yi suddenly interrupted.

He put away his jug of wine, then approached the battleship and looked up at its leader. “Are you here for me?”

“That’s right!” said the red-robed man. His eyes shine with murderous intent. "Little wretch, you violated the rules of the City of the Beginning and manipulated the Staff of Divine Punishment to murder my clansman, Qin Wenxiao. For that, you must die!”

The experts accompanying him all glared murderously at Su Yi. They weren’t the least bit friendly.

“Daoist Brother, please, let me explain.” Ren Beiyou tried again. “Su Yi...”

But just like last time, Su Yi interrupted him mid-sentence. “You heard him, didn’t you? They’re here to kill me! Talking to them is a waste of time. Why bother?”

With that, he took a step forward, shifted through the air, and swung the Sword of Proximity.

Ren Beiyou, Buddhist Venerate Ghama, Wen Xiao, and the other gods instantly looked stricken. They were so angry that they almost coughed up blood. Of course they understood Su Yi’s intentions. How could they not?

The Qin Family experts were stunned. They hadn’t anticipated that Su Yi would be so brazen as to attack them directly!

“You’re like a moth to the flame. You’re courting death!” The red-robed, white-haired man laughed hideously, then raised his hand and pressed down.

Boom!!

Starchaser rumbled and boomed. Its mountainous hull erupted with dazzling, resplendent divine light that shot directly at Su Yi.

Clang!

A Buddhist staff swung through the air, swathed in golden holy light. It blocked the incoming attack.

Buddhist Venerate Ghama had intervened, as fierce as a golden vajra. His entire body erupted with nirvanic flames, and his aura was terrifying to behold.

Throughout the surrounding area, the Greater Gods charged into the fray, all of them with unsightly looks on their faces.

The divine children’s lives were in Su Yi’s hands. No matter how unwilling they were, they couldn’t just watch as the Qin Family killed him.

“What’s the meaning of this?” The red-robed, white-haired man glowered. “Do you want to make enemies of the Qin Family?”

The other Qin Family experts were visibly enraged, too.

Su Yi was the only one still smiling as he continued attacking Starchaser.

The Sword of Proximity hummed, and sword qi blanketed heaven and earth.

“Get him!” the red-robed man bellowed. He and the other Qin Family experts then attacked with all their might!

The entire stretch of stars was thrown into upheaval.

The gods felt so stifled that they could have coughed up blood, but they had no choice but to steel themselves and rush to Su Yi’s aid.

The Qin Family experts were completely furious. Even if you’d hit them over the head, they would never have guessed that the gods they’d only just made an alliance with would turn around and help Su Yi attack them!

“Get them! Kill every last one of these outsiders!!” someone roared in fury.

“You really can’t trust outsiders!” yelled someone.

“There’s no way that the ancient Qin Family will let any of you go!!”

...The battlefield was instantly in chaos. Curses and shouts arose continuously, one after another.

At first, the Greater Gods tried to explain, but the battle was so fierce that no one listened. No one believed them, either!

On the contrary, the experts of the Qin Family attacked with the intent to kill.

Some of the Mid-Rank Gods died brutal deaths in battle, their blood splattering the starry void.

This enraged Ren Beiyou, Wen Xiao, Buddhist Venerate Ghama, and the other Greater Gods. They attacked in full force, no longer holding anything back.

“Get them! Kill those Qin Family bastards!” roared Ren Beiyou, his hair and beard bristling with fury. He took out his divine treasures and attacked Starchaser in a mad flurry of blows.

“Fuck! Do they really think we’re easily bullied?” Wen Xiao was furious. Two Mid-Rank Gods of the Nine Profundities Yao Court had just perished in battle. After seeing that, how could he concern himself with anything else?

Kaboom!

The entire stretch of stars shook. Destructive power ran rampant.

Su Yi leaped through the void, sword swinging, figure blurring like a beam of light as he flashed around the battlefield, directing the flow of battle.

Wherever he appeared became the eye of the storm, and brutal bloodshed ensued.

The experts of the ancient Qin Family longed for nothing more than to see him dead!

The gods, meanwhile, were terrified that if Su Yi got hurt, the aftershock would endanger the divine children, so they backed him up with all their might.

Roars arose all over the place. Treasures rumbled, boomed, and collided, and the fighting was interspersed with cries of agony. The mere sight of it was enough to make one tremble.

“Die!!” The red-robed, white-haired man’s eyes were bloodshot. He suddenly charged explosively at Su Yi and swung his saber.

Clang!!

Wen Xiao blocked him.

Meanwhile, Ren Beiyou and Buddhist Venerate Ghama attacked from the sides, sensing the man flying backward, badly injured.

Su Yi seized the opening to leap forward and swing his sword.

Splurt!

The red-robed, white-haired man was split in two down the midline, dead on the spot.

Ren Beiyou and the other Greater Gods’ hearts shook. They suddenly regained their mental clarity, and they quickly realized that the situation didn’t bode well.

The man was called Qin Tailei. He was a highly influential member of the Qin Family. His death meant an irreconcilable grudge with the Qin Family; they wouldn’t rest until they’d avenged him.

A mighty dragon couldn’t defeat a local serpent. If the Qin Family was dead set on getting revenge, the consequences would be unquestionably dire!

“He’s already dead. You no longer have any way out of this. It’s too late for regrets. Our best bet now is to kill them all. Succeed, and we might well prevent word from spreading,” said Su Yi.

The Greater Gods hesitated and gnashed their teeth in fury.

Were it at all possible, they’d love nothing more than to seize this opportunity to kill Su Yi, the one really responsible for all this. But in the end, they held back.

It was just as Su Yi said. Qin Tailei was already dead, so there was no room left to negotiate. That meant they had only one path left: killing their enemies.

They had to kill every last member of the ancient Qin Family here!

“Die!”

“We can’t let anyone from the Qin Family escape!”

“What ancient Qin Family? They’re nothing but dog farts! They might be local bosses of the Path of the Ancient Gods, but do they really think they can disregard us just because of that?”

“Kill them all!”

....Various shouts rang out. The gods’ killing intent was on full display, and all of them attacked with all their might. Their momentum was even more terrifying than before.

Before long, the mountainous Starchaser was severely damaged. In the end, it split into pieces. The Qin Family experts who’d come here with Qin Tailei were all slain. Not one survived.

Meanwhile, in the gods’ camp, nine Mid-Rank Gods had perished, while the others were injured to varying degrees.

The grand battle had ended.

The entire stretch of stars lay in ruin, with startling vestiges of battle all over the place. The fragments of Starchaser hovered in the air, a silent testament to the battle’s ferocity.

The gods’ expressions were as dark as could be. They’d won, but they weren’t the least bit happy about it. On the contrary, they were so frustrated and stifled that their chests threatened to explode.

Su Yi had used them yet again, forcing them to enter an irreconcilable enmity with the ancient Qin Family. Of course they were furious! How could they not be?

Meanwhile, Su Yi stood on the battlefield, his blue robes swaying around him, entirely untarnished. He was casually sipping from a gourd of wine.

He swept his gaze across the gods. Their expressions were even uglier than those of mourners at their parents’ funerals.

He couldn’t help but laugh.

“The hell are you laughing at? Haven’t you had enough yet? Push us too far, and we’ll cast all our reservations aside, you know!” Cursed Wen Xiao.

The others glared at Su Yi, foo

“Calm down, all of you. If the ancient Qin Family comes calling, you can just pin the blame for all this on me.” Su Yi took a sip of wine and chuckled. “That aside, I’ll give you all of the spoils of this battle. I won’t take a single penny for myself. Consider it your reward.”

The gods fell silent. Fuck you and fuck your rewards!

They’d killed these people, and the trophies were rightfully theirs anyway. Who was Su Yi to cede them to them? And he even called it their reward? He was far too shameless!

But it was as if Su Yi didn’t even notice their murderous glares. He continued, entirely unperturbed, “It’s already happened, so anger won’t do you any good. Actually, I have a suggestion. How about we work together? Let’s crush the Qin Family and split their treasures. How about it?”

“You still want to use us to kill your enemies for you? You’re dreaming!” roared Buddhist Venerate Ghama. He could no longer restrain his fury. “If you don’t release the divine children before leaving the Deification Star Sea as promised, we’ll make sure you lead a life worse than death!”

The other gods glared just as murderously.

But even in the face of these threats, Su Yi just laughed and said calmly, “As I’m sure you know already, the Epoch Spark and power of reincarnation make me practically invincible here in the Path of the Ancient Gods. Now, I’m willing to give you an opportunity to work with me. If anything, you ought to feel honored. But well, if you choose not to cherish the opportunity, that’s fine too. Just pretend I didn’t say anything.”

With that, he put his hands behind his back and sauntered off, still holding his gourd of wine. His voice still echoed through the void.

The gods exchanged glances. They couldn’t help but sink into thought.fгeewёbnoѵel.cσm
