Falling into Her Trap: Don't Cross the Line, Mr. President-Chapter 132: Just Kidding, Little One
Claire Shaw was so scared that her face turned ashen, and she remained silent, her body no different from a corpse.
She had already imagined a myriad of plans in her mind to fight to the death with him, her fists clenched tightly.
The man’s presence grew closer, and a low chuckle came from his direction in her left ear. Fortunately, the environment was quiet and empty, and Claire could barely hear his voice.
"Just teasing you, little one. Next time, don’t let yourself get caught. Not everyone is as lucky as you."
Claire Shaw didn’t quite understand what he meant.
After saying this, the man fell silent, and Claire didn’t dare to make any sudden moves.
A few minutes passed, and she asked, "Are you still there?"
No one answered, and her voice echoed through the warehouse.
"Can I take off the blindfold?" she asked again, but there was still no response.
Cautiously, Claire placed her hand on the blindfold, and when no one stopped her, she pulled it off.
The scene in front of her stunned her.
Claire had been curious about how many people had abducted her before she passed out, but only one person had spoken.
Just under thirty meters away from Claire, four men lay motionless, covered in blood. It was unclear whether they were dead or just unconscious.
The surroundings were filled with discarded chemical materials and waste products that had seemingly been stored for years, with dust filling the air and spiderwebs scattered in corners.
As night had fallen, the warehouse was pitch black, with only a black tactical flashlight left beside her to illuminate her path.
It was left by that person!
He hadn’t harmed her but had instead saved her.
Claire didn’t know who he was, but she was alive.
Grabbing the flashlight, she suddenly dashed toward the warehouse’s exit, daring to glance back before leaving.
The men weren’t dead; they all still had a breath left. Their bodies had been slashed by a knife, avoiding vital areas, causing unconsciousness from excessive bleeding.
Without saying a word, Claire ran outside.
The chemical plant was located on the outskirts, with a dense forest in the distance. On this stormy night, Claire ran barefoot, desperately pushing forward.
This area had been abandoned for years, with streetlights long extinguished, leaving everything in darkness.
Lightning ripped across the sky.
Thunder exploded in Claire’s ears, making her tremble with fear.
Her greatest fear was thunderstorms. In her room, it was bearable; she could wear headphones or cover herself with a blanket and watch a movie to ease her tension.
But here she was, in the wild, with no way to connect to the outside world.
All she could rely on was the flashlight in her hand.
Her feet were already blistered and worn, but Claire forced herself to endure the pain, stepping through puddles one foot in front of the other.
Her qipao was filthy, soaked through by the relentless rain.
It felt as if an invisible beast was chasing her from behind, and Claire didn’t dare to look back.
Occasionally, a bird or two flew by with a caw, their sound in the wilderness resembling the cries of a ghost.
"Ah!"
In a moment of carelessness, Claire’s body fell heavily to the ground.
The forest floor was uneven, littered with years-old weathered debris.
As she fell, her arm was gashed by a broken bottle on impact.
Blood dripped down her arm, the sharp pain spreading through her body.
Forcing herself to bear the pain, Claire slowly crawled up from the ground, not daring to delay, pushing through the forest despite her injuries.
Finally reaching the highway, she didn’t know if at that hour she could find a kind-hearted driver to take her back to the main city.
As her view expanded, the purple lightning above painted a breathtaking scene across the sky. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
"Boom!"
The roar of a dragon seemed to echo above the plain city of Meridia, shrouded under the clouds, terrifying those below.
Instinctively, Claire crouched down, covering her ears with her hands.
Blood dripped from her elbow onto her feet, blooming into small blood flowers.
In the distance, the headlights of a vehicle shone on her. Just as Claire looked up, she saw a convoy of black cars, the lead vehicle braking suddenly in the rain. Immediately, a familiar black figure burst forth from the car, sprinting toward Claire.
