Falling in Love Online with an Ancient General-Chapter 27: It’s Fine If You Like It
Chapter 27
Now that he had done this, Feng Qingyi truly felt conflicted in her heart. It seemed that next time, she would have to buy something valuable and return it to him.
[Qin Yuchuan: In our place, these things are not worth much.]
Qin Yuchuan felt that Feng Qingyi might be refusing to accept because she thought these things were expensive, and her family didn't seem affluent, so she declined his gifts. Therefore, he explained in a couple of sentences.
[Qingyi: Thank you, but you don't need to give me these things anymore. I don't lack anything.]
[Yuchuan: No need to thank me. As long as you like them.]
[Qingyi: Can I give some of the things you gave me to my friends?]
[Yuchuan: Since I've already given them to you, you can do whatever you want with them.]
[Qingyi: Okay.]
[Yuchuan: I have some things to take care of for now.]
[Qingyi: Then we'll talk another time. Don't let me disturb your work.]
Feng Qingyi put down her phone. "These hairpins, earrings, and such, you can pick whatever you like."
"Really? Just one of these hairpins costs tens of thousands!" Shen Hanyue exclaimed.
Feng Qingyi thought for a moment. "You can pick whatever you want. There are also these clothes. You can each pick one outfit. I can't wear these every day either. I'll have a complete set of attire."
After Feng Qingyi spoke, the other three didn't hold back, for a set of jewelry or an outfit was still affordable for them.
Later, when it was Feng Qingyi's birthday, they would buy return gifts, exchanging favors.
Every piece of clothing in the large box was exquisite but also very elaborate, with layer upon layer. The three picked one outfit each based on their favorite colors, leaving seven outfits remaining.
Qu Jingqiu looked at the light blue dress she was holding. "Why don't we all try them on together?" 𝐟𝐫eewe𝗯𝐧𝚘ve𝐥.c𝚘𝚖
"But I've never worn Han Chinese clothing before. It's so complicated. I don't know how to wear it!" Shen Hanyue said with some difficulty.
Qu Jingqiu smiled at her. "I have some knowledge about clothing. I can help you."
Under Qu Jingqiu's guidance, everyone finally managed to put on the outfits properly. They took turns looking at themselves in the full-length mirror in the dorm, and they did look quite fitting.
After gazing at the mirror for a long time, Shen Hanyue said, "This pink outfit I'm wearing is too beautiful. It's also very light. I've decided that I'll wear this to class this afternoon, and you should all wear yours too."
"If we're going to wear these outside, we might need to do something with our hair," Qu Jingqiu suggested.
Shen Hanyue looked at her own shoulder-length short hair. "What can I do with my short hair?"
Qu Jingqiu replied, "Don't worry. I'll help you style your hair later."
"Qiu Qiu, you're really skilled. You fix your own hair first, then come help us." Shen Hanyue combed her hair lightly with a brush.
Feng Qingyi closed the two boxes, intending to find a place to store them, but the dorm room was cluttered with beds, desks, and the wardrobe was filled with clothes. The only place she could put the two boxes was next to the suitcase in the corner.
After styling her own hair into a simple bun, Qu Jingqiu helped design hairstyles for the others as well. With the accessories, the four of them looked like beauties straight out of an ancient painting.
One red, one green, one pink, and one blue: they would certainly be a stunning sight when they went out.
Shen Hanyue walked around the dorm, occasionally glancing at the mirror. "I've only realized today that I have the potential to be a literary young lady. We four should take some photos together."
"If we're going to take photos, let's wait until we're outside and find a nice background. The lighting in the dorm isn't very good," Qu Jingqiu said, sitting on a chair and gathering the books she needed for class that afternoon.
Feng Qingyi suddenly noticed her shoes. "I just realized these shoes don't really match the outfits."
"You're right, I hadn't noticed that. Wearing sandals is a bit of a stretch, but these dresses are quite long, so if you don't look closely, you can't really see what shoes you're wearing," Shen Hanyue said.
It was almost time for the afternoon classes, and the four of them carried their books out of the dorm.
Universities are highly inclusive places, and no one would criticize their attire. In fact, most people would appreciate it.
After finding their classroom, the four sat in a row.
"Where did you get these outfits? They're so gorgeous! Can you send me the link?" a classmate walked over to where they were sitting.
Shen Hanyue pointed at Feng Qingyi. "She bought them."
"Sorry, there's no link."
The classmate seemed a little disappointed. "Looking at the material, it doesn't seem like something you can buy online. Were these custom-made?"
Feng Qingyi nodded. They could be considered custom-made.
Lou Xi suddenly spoke up. "From the material, it looks like silk fabric to me, the highest-grade fabric from ancient times. Where did you get these custom-made?"
Feng Qingyi didn't expect Lou Xi to be knowledgeable about fabrics. "Actually, I don't know where they were custom-made. I bought them from a friend of mine."
Lou Xi didn't quite believe Feng Qingyi's words, but since she didn't want to disclose it, she didn't bother asking further. Everyone has their own privacy.
Feng Qingyi thought she had brushed off the question when Lou Xi didn't ask any more, but if she had asked which friend, Feng Qingyi really wouldn't have known how to explain.
She would have to emphasize to Qin Yuchuan again not to give her such valuable gifts anymore. After receiving them once, she felt she couldn't repay them. If he sent more, she might have to go bankrupt returning the favor.
At this moment, Qin Yuchuan had just met with a few court ministers and was sitting in the study, contemplating what Xuanyuan Xi had said about liking someone.
Since he had confirmed that he liked her, what should he do?
He was unsure if he could give her a future, and that seemed unfair to her.
He couldn't stay by her side, couldn't accompany her to watch the sunset and twilight, couldn't truly touch her. With him being like this, how could he talk about liking someone?
The only thing connecting them now was this so-called phone. If something happened to the phone one day, he might not even have the chance to contact her again.
Thinking of these things, Qin Yuchuan felt dejected, but he was also reluctant to stop communicating with her. What should he do?
"General, the princess says to ask you to visit her courtyard. She has made some pastries," Yan Yang came in.
Qin Yuchuan looked up, "Understood. Where did Yan Chi go?"
"...He, he seems to have gone to find Namu, and the two went to Guanyuan Temple together."
Although Yan Yang was not certain why those two went to Guanyuan Temple, he had a vague feeling that it was related to the matter of the small box.
It seemed that Namu was determined to destroy the small box, but he did not know why.
