Fake Marriage To The Richest Tycoon-Chapter 34: A little something to remember me by
Chapter 34: Chapter 34: A little something to remember me by
Qin Zhuzhu had left Sanya all by herself. Having nothing to do and unable to find her friend or the fake fiancé, Sanya decided to take some pictures.
Suddenly, from the left came a loud sound, shocking everyone and making their hearts jump in fear. Sanya put a hand over her mouth and gasped.
"Oh my god!"
This was a disaster, Sanya thought, as the model of a large, slim drone fell onto the platform it was displayed on. She had simply been standing in front of the drone, clicking and snapping selfies. So how could it be her fault that the model crashed to the ground? She blamed it on the fact that the standee of the model was too thin and flimsy. Yes, it wasn’t her fault. Not to mention, it actually crashed onto a man who had apparently appeared behind the model. Bad luck for him, duh.
She looked around for Qin Zhuzhu but couldn’t spot her friend anywhere. Where was she when Sanya needed her!? She had been invited here by Qin Zhuzhu, so she naturally didn’t know anyone at the event. Everyone’s eyes were on her, and they had seen what she did! Some were even whispering among themselves. How was she going to get herself out of this?
Oh no! Was the man dead? Very unfortunately for her, the model had crashed onto someone’s head. And that person was now lying on the ground, possibly with a brain concussion. Whoops, she hoped he hadn’t gone to hell or heaven yet.
She hurriedly bent down and tried to move the drone off him. She knew she looked unladylike, but what did she care? This wasn’t the time to impress someone. They were talking about human lives, for crying out loud, and Sanya didn’t want to become a murderer. Neither did she want her ass in prison, so she did the only thing she could do; she threw and kicked the model off the man and grabbed a glass of wine from one of the onlookers, splashing it over his face. The man suddenly woke up, his eyes wide in shock.
"Hello, are you okay? Do you need me to call an ambulance?" Sanya asked nicely.
The man stood up, looked around, and asked confusedly, "What happened? Where am I?" He blinked a few times, appearing dazed, probably from the knock to his head.
"Nothing happened," Sanya answered. "You just happened to get knocked over by a drone, and you’re back on earth. So, bye-bye!"
Sanya took the chance to quickly run from the scene. She tried to get away from him in case he realized that it was her fault that caused him a life-threatening situation and tried to sue her. She turned on her heels and was about to stride off, had it not been for a strong grip on her forearm that stopped her.
She turned around and saw the same man tightly gripping her arm. His eyes were narrowed in an angry frown. Why does he look familiar?
"Where are you going, missy? Are you trying to escape after you knocked me down and almost killed me?" he questioned loudly, so that everyone could be a witness.
Oh, so it looks like he has regained his mind, Sanya thought to herself. She wished that drone had really knocked his mind somewhere far away so that it would be impossible to blame her for the incident. No, wait! It was an accident, not an incident. Sanya had mentally prepared herself in case they questioned her.
"Escape? Why, no," she chuckled nervously and waved it away. "I was trying to help you call an ambulance. You looked seriously injured, even now," she said, her gaze landing on the fresh cut on his forehead she hadn’t noticed before.
"Had it not been for the security guard here who told me, I would have believed you. You have to compensate me. Now," the man said fiercely.
Sanya wriggled out of his grip and said, "Compensate? For what?"
The man scoffed, finding her words ridiculous. At once, Sanya could tell that this man was from a rich family. He exuded an air of sophistication and haughtiness that only those rich people possessed.
"Compensate for knocking me down and causing this cut on my forehead!" he snapped, pointing at his forehead.
She leaned in closer to take a better look at his cut.
"What are you doing? Why are you coming closer to me?" The man instinctively moved backward, but Sanya kept advancing toward him, her eyes fixed on the cut.
"Stop moving! I want to take a look at your cut," she said, and he stopped.
"Just compensate me already. I have business to do, and I can’t stay here forever arguing with you," he said, tapping his foot impatiently.
Sanya reached out and brushed her fingers across his forehead, slightly touching the cut. Luckily, the blood had dried, but it might leave a scar. Ouch. She felt him shiver under her touch. He immediately pulled away from her.
"It’s just a small, tiny cut. You’ll be fine. If you can’t bear to look at yourself in the mirror, just apply some scar ointment or go see a skin surgeon. He’ll cut the narcissistic personality out of you," Sanya remarked.
"Excuse me? What?" the man said, feeling insulted by her words. What kind of woman was this?
"Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am? Who my father is!?" he thundered.
Sanya hated men like this—the ones who think everyone owes them money and put on an air of arrogance.
"I know that you need to see a doctor, mister," she told him sternly. She turned away from him, but he grabbed her again!
"Miss, you are not allowed to leave unless you pay the compensation for what you have done," he said strictly, obviously insulted by her words.
"Okay, how much?" Sanya wanted to know. Since he was rich, it shouldn’t be much, as he already had a lot of money. Unless he was purposely making things hard for her.
"Fifty thousand dollars," he announced, dropping the bomb.
"What!? Fifty thousand!? Are you trying to kill me!? This is daylight robbery," Sanya cried out.
"Daylight robbery? You dropped that stupid drone on me while taking some dumb selfies," he reasoned with her.
"I told you it wasn’t my fault that the stupid drone crashed on your head. If you want to blame someone, blame the manager or organizer of this exhibition," Sanya said, crossing her arms and turning on her angry mode. It seemed like she wasn’t going down without a fight with this one.
Why does she feel familiar? the man thought.
At the same time, Sanya wondered, "He seems familiar. Where have I seen him?"
