Chapter 197 - Ch 197 : Rushed over

The massive black hole gradually shrank and eventually dissipated after devouring Bluenote.

The dust stirred by the gravitational shock quickly settled, but the shocking scene continued to echo in the minds of everyone present.

Bluenote's strength was undeniable.

He had effortlessly crushed the combined might of Fried and Bickslow and could even fight Gildarts on equal footing.

In all of Fiore, mages of his caliber were exceedingly rare.

Yet even such a powerful mage as Bluenote was utterly helpless before Lance.

What had just transpired could hardly be called a battle—it was more like a game.

A cruel, one-sided game orchestrated solely by Lance.

"You're next, aren't you?" Having effortlessly disposed of Bluenote, Lance turned his gaze toward Gildarts.

His violet eyes, as still and lifeless as a dead sea, exuded an indescribable sense of oppression.

"Who... exactly are you?"

"Hmm? Oh, right. I suppose I haven't introduced myself yet." Hearing Gildarts' question, Lance was momentarily taken aback, as if just realizing something, before answering, "I'll only say this once—I am Lance Crest, the First Throne of the Demon God's Soul."

"The Throne of the Demon God's Soul?"

Gildarts' pupils contracted slightly.

His mind flashed back to his encounter at Mount Zonia, where he had met a black-haired girl capable of rivaling Acnologia.

That girl was one of the Seven Thrones of the Demon God's Soul.

"You members of the Demon God's Soul... have come to this island as well?" Gildarts asked.

Lance nodded, confirming Gildarts' question.

"The Demon God's Soul has already descended upon this island. The mission entrusted to us by our Master is to annihilate all resistance on this island—whether it be Grimoire Heart or... Fairy Tail!"

"You won't succeed," Gildarts declared, clenching his fist.

Staring at Lance's indifferent expression, he continued, "The flames of youth will never be extinguished!"

"Is that so? Then let's put it to the test." Lance responded calmly.

Without another word, he raised an arm, spreading his fingers slightly.

"Compression!"

In an instant, the surrounding air seemed to be drained away—no, it was being compressed.

The air's density skyrocketed by hundreds of times the moment Lance lifted his hand, creating a near-vacuum between this zone and the external atmosphere.

The suddenly compressed air was transformed into a devastating weapon, surging toward Gildarts and the Fairy Tail members within the camp.

Boom!

A deafening explosion and piercing shrieks filled the air—the sound of air shattering.

A thick, unpleasant scent and dense smoke instantly spread throughout the surroundings.

Then, the smoke was torn apart.

A towering figure emerged, standing at the front of the camp like a steadfast guardian, arms spread wide in a protective stance.

Blood continuously seeped from his wounds, yet his eyes held no trace of confusion or hesitation.

"Gildarts!!"

Upon seeing this scene, Cana's expression changed drastically, and she instinctively rushed forward. But—

"Stay back!!" Gildarts roared, stopping Cana in her tracks.

"Don't come any closer! If you do, you'll only be throwing your life away!"

From a distance, a hint of understanding flashed across Lance's face.

He showed no surprise that Gildarts had blocked his attack.

Instead, he spoke calmly, "You instantly unleashed all of your magic power to block my strike, didn't you? Your magic must have a decomposition effect—otherwise, even with a magic burst, you wouldn't have been able to withstand that attack. But this is your limit. Your magic power is completely drained. The next strike will end everything."

Lance raised his hand.

Boom!

The ground around him shattered, sending fragments of rock floating upward.

The broken stones gathered above him, rapidly spinning as if manipulated by an unseen force.

A crushing power formed—a force capable of tearing apart any resistance.

With a flick of Lance's hand, this overwhelming energy surged toward the Fairy Tail camp.

Boom!

The sound was like a raging tidal wave slamming into a seawall.

Yet, the seemingly unstoppable attack was blocked. freёnovelkiss.com

Standing in its way was a golden wall, adorned with intricate patterns, almost tangible in its solidity.

Even Lance's devastating strike failed to break through it.

"[Holy Light Magic Defense Arcane Art—Wall of Sighs]."

A calm voice echoed in the ears of everyone present.

The golden wall slowly dissipated, revealing a silver-haired figure before the crowd.

Noel slowly lifted his head, his blue eyes burning with fury as he stared at the boy in the distance who shared a similar hair color.

"No matter who you are... I will never forgive you!!!"

Blinding white light condensed into a massive spear, which shot toward Lance with incredible force.

However, the moment the white spear struck Lance, it disintegrated into dust.

Amid the scattering light, Noel had already appeared before Lance, his fist glowing with holy radiance as he struck forward.

"[Holy Light: Radiant Glory]!"

Noel's white fist connected with Lance, sending him flying backward.

However, there was no relief on Noel's face.

He felt no sensation of striking a human body—it was as if his punch had been blocked by some unknown force.

Moreover...

Noel clenched his hand.

A bruise had already formed on his right wrist—the same hand he had just used to punch.

A sharp pain pulsed through his mind.

He didn't need to look to know that his wrist had suffered a minor fracture due to a strange counterforce.

A flash of white light passed, and Noel's right arm had already returned to normal.

He looked toward the silver-haired boy who had flipped midair and landed steadily on the ground, completely unscathed.

His gaze grew more serious than ever before.

At that moment, Natsu, Lucy, and the others finally arrived at the camp.

After setting down Makarov, they hurried over to support Gildarts and carried him into the camp.

"Damn it... even Gildarts..." Natsu clenched his fists in anger.

The moment he set Gildarts down, he was ready to rush out—but Gildarts grabbed him.

"Calm down, Natsu. Leave this to Noel for now. Don't be reckless," Gildarts said.

"But, Gildarts—!"

"Believe in Noel, Natsu. Besides, even if you charge in now, it won't change anything." Gildarts looked at Natsu with a solemn expression.

"Because the Noel you're about to see... will unleash power beyond anything you could ever imagine."

Under Gildarts' gaze, Natsu finally forced himself to calm down.

At the very least, he no longer had the impulse to charge forward.

However, his tightly clenched jaw made it clear to everyone—Natsu was desperately holding himself back.
