Chapter 211: Senior Sister Can Scheme Well!

Before leaving the Archives, Han Xuhan dug up another significant news from Senior Brother Lin’s mouth. It was the reason why all the senior disciples of the sect were busy working in the archives.

"The Sect Master has issued an unprecedented command to the disciples who are about to leave the sect after ’graduation’. Each of us has been given a unique secret mission to complete.

"The problem is, the missions are so chaotic and random that it feels more like a punishment than anything else. We aren’t allowed to discuss the details of the missions with each other, but the general consensus is that all of us shall have to travel far, far away from this region, and perform some inexplicable tasks.

"How far are we talking about? Can I know what kind of task you got, Senior Brother? Is it difficult?" Han Xuhan had asked, full of curiosity.

The older disciple wore a downcast look and shook his head.

"I wish I could share the information, but I don’t want to be punished. I heard that one girl carelessly discussed her task with others, and the next day, her task was changed into something nearly impossible. People heard her complaining that she now has to travel to a whole different continent to complete it!"

"Another continent?! Sss..."

It was reasonable to feel shocked. Han Xuhan had done his research on the available geography of the planet. He knew that each continent on this planet was so well-isolated by massive oceans that even powerful cultivators had little means to travel across them.

In fact, there was very little information on the other continents in Crimson Snow Sect’s archives. Only some historical records about the bigshot foreign cultivators and some powerful sects were collected here.

Senior Brother Lin suddenly looked around shiftily and then whispered in Han Xuhan’s ears, "Actually, you should know who that poor lass is. She’s from your mountain peak, after all! If you can help her somehow, do her a favor."

Han Xuhan felt his eyelids start to twitch as a strange possibility occurred to him.

Don’t tell me...

"It’s Senior Sister Qing Hua, isn’t it?" He asked.

Senior Brother Lin nodded, looking impressed. "Not bad, little Xuhan. Your information channels always manage to surprise me."

Han Xuhan didn’t know what to say. His guess had nothing to do with his channels of information.

He could tell it was Qing Hua simply because of their meeting that day.

Qing Hua had been venting to him that day, frustrated with her fated marriage. She wanted to escape the marriage arrangements by any means.

Her desperation was so extreme that she had even proposed a plan to stage a love affair with Han Xuhan if he ever visited her after marriage.

With that kind of desperation, how could she not utilize this opportunity of ’being punished with difficult tasks’?

Han Xuhan was now certain that Qing Hua had not ’carelessly leaked’ the details of her mission!

She must have done it to goad the Sect Master into giving her a task that would serve as a perfect excuse to delay her marriage with that crown prince, hehehehe!

If she had to travel to another continent as a part of her obligations to the sect, her fiancè would probably not see her shadow again in the next few years. Add in the difficulty of the task itself, and the estimated timeframe to complete it might go up to a decade!

Han Xuhan almost felt bad for that idiot crown prince.

That guy has no idea that the ’wife’ he has been raising with precious resources and opportunities didn’t have any plans to spend her life serving him, tsk~ tsk~

Wondering what their enigmatic Sect Master was planning, Han Xuhan returned to his hut and focused on his own matters for the time being.

Since it seemed like the Sect Master was occupied with other issues, he didn’t want to bother that man with his questions. Elder Kong Ye would be a better target to poke if he had to gather more intel on the insignias in that illusory game of chess.

However, it would be a little difficult to just barge into the Elder’s mansion to discuss it. He needed an excuse to bring up the matter and an appropriate explanation for his curiosity.

Otherwise, he doubted that Kong Ye would share anything worth knowing. With how secretly that mysterious girl was living in this sect, any information connected to her was bound to be sensitive.

Deciding to wait for an opportunity, he focused his energy on cultivation instead.

The Mystic Art he was studying at the moment was called the False Remembrance Illusion Technique. His mastery over it was growing at an incredibly slow pace, all because of his degenerated meridians.

He had to be careful not to cultivate for too long, or too enthusiastically, lest it damage his fragile qi vessels. Fortunately, it was a simple technique that relied mostly on mental capabilities.

That was not a domain he was lacking in. So his progress never really stopped. He was inching closer and closer to the peak of the first layer of the technique.

Once he broke through, he’d gain the capability to design some minor illusions. And he even had (unwilling) guinea pigs ready for the first round of trials!

Zhanxian and Tun Shi Tian had no idea what was coming for them, hahaha!

That evening, after an intense martial cultivation session. Han Xuhan lay on the ground and considered his week’s schedule.

The objective of teaching Brother Chen Yan a lesson was a mere side task, something meant for amusement, insignificant in the greater scheme of things. He couldn’t jeopardize his methodical plans of progress just to waste any time on that guy and his coterie.

The law lectures were far more important in comparison. With Xuanyuan Zhou in seclusion and Mu Ran out travelling, stopping the lectures for now seemed to be a safe initiative.

But doing so would bring about a disaster in his business module.

He needed his fellow brothers and sisters in the sect to get completely hooked on the art of law manipulation.

He wanted every disciple of Crimson Snow Sect to go into the Archives, search for his manual, buy it without a second thought, and end up sending a share of the payment into his pockets.

The longer it took to kickstart that outcome, the harder the difficulty would grow. Bullies and greedy bastards like Chen Yan would pop up in numbers beyond his capabilities to handle.

Right now, the official lecture sessions of the sect were closed to avoid letting the disciples come into contact with the dangerous elements in the fog.

But he had the map, capable of tracking the fog’s movements and identifying relatively safe zones.

Using the map, he could schedule law lectures for everyone without worries. All he had to do was to bribe a disciple from each mountain peak to spread the news.

Most of them would have gotten bored by now, being locked up inside their huts all day long. So the free lecture sessions and guaranteed safety could do wonders in bringing the entire outer court together!
