Tremors ran through the earth with every step the Dryad took, vines growing along its footsteps.

The previously battling armies of the barbarians and soldiers of Albions scattered out of its way, everyone running for their lives.

There was a general sense of confusion in the air with the soldiers wondering where the Dryad had come from and the barbarians wondering if the battle was over.

Abram didn't care. He streaked across the wreckage of the Ross castle, looking for his wife. An instant later, he found her body, slumped on rubble, covered in blood.

NO!

He materialized before her, gathering her into his arms. "No! Maria!"

Blood covered every inch of her body, but there was not a single injury. The Dryad had healed its host before escaping.

He pressed a finger to her neck, feeling for her pulse. She was still alive!

"Maria!" he gently shook her. "Maria please!"

Another tremor ran through the ground from the slow steps of the Dryad. The creature roared again into the air.

Maria's eyes fluttered open. "Abram?" She whispered.

"Oh, thank the heavens!" Abram exhaled, body shuddering in overwhelming relief. "Thank the heavens!"

"The Dryad!" Maria muttered, breaking into a coughing fit.

Abram looked in the direction of the Dryad. The creature was moving unhindered, almost at the hole torn into the barrier.

And that was when the rubble erupted.

Two figures wreathed in blue energy streaked out of the rubble, one carrying the other in his arms. They streaked towards the Dryad, stopping just above it.

It was Elias carrying Lilith, both of them encased in a bubble of soul energy. They'd been caught in the castle when it had exploded.

They hovered in the air as Lilith lifted a hand. A giant ethereal looking blue spear of energy began to build.

Sensing the danger, the Dryad turned but before it could do anything, Lilith thrusted her hand in its direction.

The spear howled through the sky before piercing the Dyad in the abdomen, bursting out the other side and pinning it to the ground in a thunk.

The earth shook and a cloud of dust rolled around the impact. A piercing scream tore out of the mouth of the Dryad, filling the air. Everyone, both barbarian and soldier, felt the scream pierce their minds, sending spikes of pain, betrayal, and hunger, into their minds.

Screams filled the air as they panicked, scrambling as far as they could from the battlefield.

The bubble of soul energy around Lilith and Elias expanded, growing into an armored female figure that encased the two.

The Dryad grasped the spear pinning it in place and snapped it, stumbling forward with a roar, but the armored soul construct was waiting.

The giant Lilith stepped forward, grasped the Dryad's head with the left hand, pulled back the right hand and punched, the Dryad's hand snapped forward and it caught the punch. The other hand grasped the one holding its head and it pulled it away with a scream.

Grabbing the two hands, the Dryad lifted the armored Lilith and slammed it into the ground. The armored Lilith twisted in mid-ar, acrobatically for its size, landing on its feet. Tremors spread through the earth.

It pushed back the Dryad, reached backwards, a giant sword materializing in its hand. With a giant diagonal swing, it severed the Dryad at the middle.

As the top half of the Dryad fell, vines erupted from both halves, reaching for each other and sewing it back together.

Light from Lilith's armored construct glinted off a thrown coin and Ren appeared in mid air, right above the Dryad, and plunged his sword into the Dryad's eye.

The Dryad screamed as Ren teleported away and the armored Lilith took advantage of the distraction. It pulled back its fist and buried it into the gut of the Dryad. As the Dryad folded, the armored Lilith finished with an uppercut, sending it flying what was left of the barrier.

The armored Lilith surged towards the Dryad which pushed itself off the floor with a roar, wings erupting from its back. It surged forward, grabbed the armored Lilith and they both surged into the air, slamming Lilith into the dome overhead, cracking it.

It held it against the dome and began punching, the sky lighting up in flashes of blue and green.

With a roar, it punched once more, shattering the dome completely. Before it could soar into the air even more, the armored Lilith grew claws, grabbed the Dryad's head, and ripped it apart.

The two giant creatures fell to the ground. The armored Lilith controlled its descent to hover just above the ground but the Dryad fell on its back with a loud snap, one of its wings snapping off.

Vines regrew around its head, trying to pull its two pieces back together, but the armored Lilith didn't allow it.

It pulled its fist back and began raining blow upon blow on the Dryad's chest, caving it in. Screams tore out of the Dryad's mouth as its head finally fused.

As it screamed, its hand formed into a spike and it plunged the spike into the armored Lilith's chest. The armored Lilith stumbled back, the energy dissipating rapidly, until all that was left was the bubble containing Elias and lilith.

The bubble flew away, landing at the edge of the rubble of Ross castle, beside Abram and Maria.

Ren teleported to her, taking Lilith from Elias. "Lilith!"

The white haired teen stared at him blankly. He could tell that the extensive use of her Divine Gift hadn't been without cost. It had sapped her of her emotions until all that was left was weariness.

She looked at Ren, weary and whispered. "I've done my best." Then, her eyes fluttered shut.

In the middle of the battlefield, the Dryad staggered to its feet and roared into the air.

"Ha!" Abram exhaled and every eye turned to him. "I guess I'm pathetic."

"I sat around and watched a little girl fight alone." He grabbed Freedom and stood. "Thomas has done his best. Dariys has done his best. Felix has done his best. Maria has done her best. Ren has done his best. And Lilith has weakened the Dryad enough."

He turned to the Dryad, gaze darkening. "I guess it's my turn to do my best."

He glanced back at his wife. "Stay back. I'll end this."
