Chapter 13: First Day At Novaris Academy (1)

In the blink of an eye, Monday came.

Noah was lying on the bed. His white hair was messy, eyes closed. His long eyelashes enhanced his appearance. His face had a perfect shape.

Slowly, his eyelids twitched as they started to open.

Everything was blurry. He blinked a few times to get accustomed to his sight.

Yawn~

He yawned, stretching his arms up.

’It’s already morning... and Monday. The first day of the academy.’ He thought for a while, lying there.

He was really excited for this, but now that it was the first day of the academy, he suddenly started to feel nervous.

Can he do well? Can he be on good terms with the main characters? Can he survive in the academy? Those dangerous scenarios? Which he has no idea about? Will his actions cause some butterfly effect?

’Fuck! No point in thinking about that. The biggest problem will be my own personality.’

He got up from the bed with a sour face.

If he had to tell what kind of person Noah... no, not the previous Noah, but Aron who is now Noah. If he had to describe himself, then all he could say was troublemaker.

That was his reputation in his past life.

Of course, it was not as if he was trying to do some bad things. Rather, he was just doing normal things, but they always led to problems. Maybe it was just his luck that was bad.

Pushing those thoughts aside, Noah entered the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, then took a nice bath.

Then he opened the cupboard in the bedroom. Yesterday, the academy had sent him his academy uniform. They were a total of two in number.

He took one out and started to wear it.

Soon, he was standing in front of the mirror and checking his handsome features.

The uniform he was wearing consisted of a white inner shirt and a red tie. It had a tailored gray blazer coat that he wore over the shirt. Red piping ran along the edges of the collar and cuffs of the blazer. Three subtle rune patterns were woven into the inside lining; they worked for slight protection of the body.

Noah just ran his hands through his hair, arranging it enough to look good.

Even if he kept it messy, he would still look handsome. No point in trying to makeover.

"Okay, it’s time for the academy."

Noah left his dormitory.

---

Noah walked out of the dormitory buildings, the morning air cool and fresh against his face. The campus felt different today. It was livelier.

Groups of students in identical uniforms moved along the pathways, some chatting excitedly, others looking just as nervous as he felt.

The cobblestone path stretched ahead of him, leading toward the academic section of the academy. Sunlight filtered through the tall trees, casting shifting shadows across the ground.

Noah slipped his hands into his pockets and walked at a relaxed pace.

’Calm down,’ he told himself.

As he passed through a small commercial area inside the campus, a few shops were already open.

The smell of freshly brewed coffee drifted through the air. A bakery displayed warm bread behind glass panels. A convenience stall nearby had snacks stacked neatly on shelves.

Noah slowed down.

"...Might as well."

He stepped toward the shop and casually picked up a few packets of chips, some candies, and a pack of roasted peanuts.

The shopkeeper glanced at him briefly while scanning the items.

After paying, Noah stepped aside and discreetly stored the snacks inside his storage ring.

’For emergency situations,’ he thought seriously.

Then he resumed walking.

He took out his student ID card and examined it. On the back, a small digital display lit up when he tapped it. His schedule appeared along with his classroom number.

"First-year Class A-1 – Room 1-07."

"Hmm."

He looked around, searching for directional signs. Large boards were placed at intersections across the campus, indicating different academic blocks.

After walking for several minutes and asking one passing student for confirmation, he finally located the correct building.

It was larger than the others nearby, built from the same white stone as the main structure but with a more academic feel than administrative.

Students were entering through its tall doors.

Noah climbed the short staircase and stepped inside.

The interior hallway was wide and filled with rows of lockers along the walls. Conversations echoed softly around him. Some students laughed nervously, some stood quietly reviewing notes, and others simply looked around curiously.

He followed the room numbers displayed above each doorway.

1-03.

1-05.

Then.

1-07.

Noah stopped walking.

In front of him stood a huge double door made of dark polished wood, engraved with subtle rune markings near the frame.

This was it. His classroom.

For a brief moment, he just stood there, staring at the door.

’Alright... let’s see what kind of chaos awaits.’

Taking a slow breath, Noah reached for the handle. He slide opened the door.

"Hah... okay." Noah entered the classroom. Closed the door behind.

He saw descending rows, piling upon rows of exquisitely arranged desks. He could almost taste the vibrancy of the students occupying these desks.

The whole interior was neat and spotless, almost as if it was shining.

Kids were chatting among themselves, friends were catching up with each other, and some diligent students readied themselves for the first day with their heads buried in their books.

But then their eyes fell on the newcomer.

Noah, who had just entered, felt weird. He stopped at the door, gazing at everyone while they stared at him.

The classroom went silent when they saw him.

Noah blinked and smiled nervously, not knowing why they were looking at him like that. Actually, he already had an idea, but he never thought it would have this much effect.

Noah didn’t remain there and went to the back side of the class, chose the last row, and sat down on it.

Many started to murmur about Noah with displeased expressions, while a few gave curious looks like they didn’t know why everyone was talking like this.

While Noah just dismissed the stares, closed his eyes, and waited for the class to start soon.
