Extra: Yandere Milfs Obsessed with me!-Chapter 70: D- Rank Warrior
He also felt his strength returning, as if an energy source was reigniting within him.
"Two-month effect... unlimited," he murmured, recalling the elixirβs properties. ππΏπ²ππ°πππ§πππ²π₯.πππ
The frostbite on his arm did not disappear completely, but the pain diminished enough for him to move his fingers with a bit more flexibility again.
He remained sitting like that for several minutes, letting the potion take effect.
Then, slowly, he stood up.
The cave was silent, plunged into almost absolute darkness. Kaiser took a deep breath. He was still not safe, not even for a second. So, he sat cross-legged on a flat rock, placed his hands on his knees, and closed his eyes.
He had to master his aura. He had not yet learned the technique to project his aura into this oppressive darkness and silence, it was the only thing he could and must do if he wanted to see his surroundings.
He exhaled slowly, seeking the center of his being. Pure physical energy.
A faint glow of aura became visible around him. It was unstable, flickering.
Using Aura Recovery but focusing it into his eyes.
"Again,"he told himself.
He started over. Again and again. For what felt like hours. Until a thin, stable filament of blue light finally enveloped his eyes.
He reopened his eyes, piercing the darkness.
It wasnβt as effective as projecting his mana, which was like x-ray vision, but it was better than nothing.
...
Kaiser had lost track of time since his arrival in the underground cave network. Thanks to the lingering effects of the Elixir of Life, his body did not experience total exhaustion, which allowed him to train from dawn until dusk without any real interruption. He tirelessly repeated the same technique combinations until his muscles burned, then he would start again, convinced it was the only way to progress.
He began with a methodical reinforcement of his basics. He ran through the narrowest tunnels to work on his agility, then followed up with series of Dashes. In the first days, he frequently hit the walls and lost his balance. Gradually, his movements became more precise and better controlled, even though the energy expenditure remained considerable.
"The Elixir of Life is much better than I thought, itβs the perfect time to maximize my chances of getting stronger," he whispered to himself after each failure.
The sound of his own voice helped him maintain his focus.
During his movements in the cave, Kaiser regularly came across goblins scattered throughout the galleries. They were weak when alone, but their strength lay in numbers.
As soon as they spotted an intruder, they would spring from dark corners to pounce on him. Kaiser cut them down without hesitation. He always used the same method, fast and direct, like a reflex he no longer needed to think about.
Through sheer repetition, his [Slashing Cut] became cleaner and cleaner. His movements were reduced to the essentials, gaining in precision and efficiency. With each fight, he felt his hand surer, his motion cleaner.
The further he advanced, the more the creatures changed. Goblins gave way to Hell Wolves. Their presence was often detected at the last second, when two red eyes glowed in a corridor that was too narrow.
Their silent movements and jaws capable of crushing a shin in one bite made them far more dangerous adversaries. Here, the slightest hesitation cost dearly. The narrow, irregular galleries forced him to stay on high alert.
Kaiser dodged, parried, retreated a step or two before striking. The confrontations were quick, tense, and often left a smell of sweat and blood on the damp walls that attracted other predators.
Despite the difficulty, he kept moving forward. Fight after fight, he felt his confidence grow because he was solidifying his mastery a little more.
One day, after killing three wolves in succession, he had to face bats.
The giant bats presented a different kind of challenge. They swooped down on him from the high vaults of the cave, taking advantage of the darkness and the element of surprise. Their piercing cries echoed unpleasantly. Kaiser learned to constantly watch the ceiling and anticipate their attacks. When he couldnβt dodge, he activated his Aura Recovery to strengthen his arms and block the blows.
The most perilous confrontation was against a low-rank rare troll. Its imposing mass and extremely resistant skin made it formidable. Kaiserβs attacks seemed to barely scratch it.
The monster grabbed him by the leg and nearly crushed him against a rock.He only freed himself by channeling all of his aura into a single Slashing Cut. Though not fatal, the inflicted wound forced the troll to retreat, giving Kaiser the necessary opening to gain distance and finish the fight with increased caution.
He remained kneeling for long minutes after that battle, his body trembling with adrenaline.
"A mistake like that, and itβs over..."
This thought often returned, but it never slowed his determination.
Several times,he spotted epic-rank monsters in the distance, entities whose presence seemed incongruous in these galleries. He didnβt even attempt to confront them. Instead, he studied the environment, identifying narrow passages, unstable slopes, or crevices, and used them to evade. Sometimes, he slipped into conduits too narrow for his pursuers; other times, he took a wide detour.
Time passed, imperturbable and immeasurable. He didnβt know if he had been there for two weeks, a month, or longer.
He couldnβt really use the system to gauge which opponents he could or could not face.
His only gauge of progress was pain:when it diminished, he knew he had gained skill.
His Dash gained speed and control. He could now adjust his trajectory at the last moment.
His Aura Recovery stabilized more and more and his Slashing Cut gained penetrating power.
[Level: D-]
"Not bad,not bad." He nodded.
It was the first time since arriving in this place that a feeling of satisfaction brushed against him.In reality, almost two months had passed since he had been here.
He closed the interface and resumed walking. His consciousness was almost entirely absorbed by the instinct for survival. Memories of his life in Alexandria faded, but two faces remained engraved in his memory: Katrinaβs and Rubyβs.
He made the solemn promise to himself once again to return. No matter how long it took.
He then plunged deeper into the bowels of the cave.
