Chapter 543: Chapter 541: Homage to Gatling Bodhisattva, the Spell of Pure Six Senses Bullet

Seeing the stone gate open, everyone was momentarily stunned, including Franklin, who had been pushed to the back of the group by the foul smell. Then, all eyes turned towards the interior of the stone door.

They saw a small, secret chamber with a person sitting inside.

The individual was clad in light black form-fitting clothing and wore a strange half-face mask that seemed to filter the air, leaving only their slightly squinted eyes visible. In front of them sat an odd mechanical device, its front lined with several iron pipes, their purpose unclear.

When the figure saw Franklin and his companions, they showed little surprise, as if they’d been expecting this, and spoke indifferently, "Say, hasn’t anyone ever told you that it’s incredibly impolite and also very dangerous to barge uninvited into someone else’s home?"

Franklin eyed the figure, his eyebrows involuntarily shooting up, but he didn’t engage in small talk. Instead, he said coldly, "It seems you’re the one who’s been hiding in the shadows! Hmph, now, we’ve finally flushed you out!"

"Ha," the masked figure chuckled in response, "To be precise, it’s not that you flushed me out, but that I’ve been here waiting for you. And to tell the truth, you’re moving slower than I had anticipated."

While speaking, the masked person took out a flat object the size of an egg from their bosom, glanced at it, then put it back, saying, "According to my predictions, you should have arrived half an hour ago."

"Are you saying we’re not as impressive as you thought?" Franklin’s brows, now furrowed like two drawn swords.

"You could say that," the figure replied, still calm and unafraid.

Watching the person’s fearless demeanor and hearing their confident words, Franklin’s pent-up anger reached its limit, and he had no desire to beat around the bush. He bellowed, "You might think you’ve got us figured out, but you’re dead wrong, by a long shot—We’re a thousandfold mightier than you’ve imagined!"

With that, he swung his arm fiercely, issuing the command, "Get him! Take him alive; I want to have a ’word’ with him!" He bit particularly hard on the word "word."

"Yes!" The two wizards close to the gate, upon hearing Franklin’s words, hesitated not a second longer and launched themselves at the masked figure in the secret chamber.

Inside the chamber, the masked figure shook their head lightly with a sigh of regret, then pressed a hand on the mechanism in front of them.

As the two wizards burst forward with incredible speed, about to capture the masked individual in seconds, they inexplicably sensed an intense unease.

In the next instant, the sound of an explosion erupted.

"Bang!"

A flash of light blazed as the machine in front of the masked figure came to life, its iron pipes rotating and emitting a blood-red glow, with grey-white bullets shooting out at supersonic speed towards the two wizards.

The wizards frowned, wary but not frightened, taking the masked figure’s device as nothing more than an unusual mechanical crossbow. They each waved a hand, casting thin shields to brace against the incoming projectiles and continued their approach.

That’s when the first grey-white bullet hit the surface of a shield.

"Boom!"

The bullet burst, unleashing a terrifying force.

"Crash!"

The magic shields shattered instantly, and one wizard felt their body shake violently, as if hit by something unknown, pain rapidly spreading throughout.

Damn it, what’s happening!

The wizard was shocked and angered, not understanding why, but still clenched their teeth, preparing to raise a second shield.

But before they could, a second bullet struck their body.

The bullet exploded, its fearsome power no less than the first’s.

The wizard’s body convulsed as if being torn apart, unable to control themselves, and turned instinctively to their companion, only to see half of their body burst into a cloud of blood mist.

This!

The wizard trembled in horror and then darkness overtook their vision as they lost consciousness.

Outside the secret chamber, the other wizards witnessed a scene straight out of a fantasy: their two companions rushing in, about to capture the ignorantly bold intruder, only to have their bodies instantly shattered by the strange device in front of them.

The wizards stationed outside the chamber stood in collective shock, their eyes wide.

And then, a multitude of metallic bullets passed through the bodies of their fallen peers, approaching rapidly, bringing imminent danger.

What to do? The question raced through the minds of all the wizards present.

With the passageway narrow and straight, there was nowhere to dodge--they had no choice but to brace for impact!

Upon witnessing the fate of their comrade, all the wizards desperately mobilized the mana within their bodies, casting Magic Shields.

Then, the metallic bullets made contact with the Shields, collided, and burst open.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

The sounds of Air Explosions followed one after the other as if unceasing, and many Shields erected by the wizards shattered like they were made of paper, followed by the shattering of their bodies behind the Shields.

"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"

One wizard after another was torn apart, exploding into bursts of blood mist!

The wizards who were still alive, were scared out of their wits. They desperately wanted to turn and run, but they couldn’t; they could only grit their teeth and continue to resist. freewebnσvel.cøm

More metallic bullets roared in, and the wizards fell one by one, like wheat being harvested.

Franklin was at the very back of the team, and in his field of view, the occurrence unfolded almost instantly—more than half of his wizards had died, and the few remaining at the tail of the team seemed unable to hold on much longer.

This!

Franklin was stunned, astonished, dumbfounded!

He had come with absolute confidence, prepared to use overwhelming force to investigate and clear out the person who had been causing trouble. He now completely failed to understand or comprehend why, all of a sudden, the situation had reversed like this—almost all of his men had perished.

But reality lay before his eyes.

The few men remaining seemed like they couldn’t hold on, and several metallic bullets pierced through their bodies, whizzing past him and making Franklin feel the imminent crisis of death.

What to do? These three words also appeared in Franklin’s mind.

Should he use Earth Magic to destroy the passage or make a quick retreat?

As this thought crossed his mind, Franklin suddenly remembered the passageway had been reinforced with magic, then he realized that the passageway he was in was absurdly long and he couldn’t possibly escape in a short amount of time.

So... was everything a setup, was the person in the chamber really waiting for them to arrive?

Thinking this far, a bitter taste filled Franklin’s heart, followed by a trace of madness that sprouted from deep within his core, engulfing his entire being.

He couldn’t die! He absolutely couldn’t die!

Right, he couldn’t die!

Although, dying here wouldn’t amount to a true death, if he were to die, the matter he was trying to conceal would be exposed. By then, if the Muse Housekeeper learned about it, the outcome would be a hundred times, a thousand times more terrifying than death itself!

He absolutely couldn’t die!

"Ah!"

With this thought, Franklin let out a furious shout. As he saw the last few of his men burst into blood mist under the barrage of bullets, he flipped his hand and something appeared in his palm—not a flame for ascending wizard levels, but a golden pill.

"Gulp!"

Franklin swallowed the pill quickly, and a violent power burst forth from his body, and his entire being underwent a drastic transformation.

"Crack! Snap!"

The sound of bones popping rang out. Franklin suddenly grew taller, his muscles twisted violently, his veins bulged, his skin stretched tight, and hair sprouted wildly from beneath, gradually transforming him into a large werewolf.

A werewolf, similar to what Suo Men had once become, but different: Suo Men’s werewolf was dark blue, quite common; Franklin’s werewolf, however, had golden fur, its skin and claws emitted a metallic texture as if invulnerable.

When the transformation was complete, with a "pfft," the last of Franklin’s men in front of him also had his body blown apart, and dense metallic bullets reached Franklin.

"Die!"

Franklin let out a discordant roar from his throat, his body instantly flashing with seven bursts of light, with each flash his aura grew stronger. By the end, his aura was almost tangible, and the look emitted from Franklin’s eyes was as if divine.

"Smack!"

Franklin ferociously stomped on the ground, charged through the metallic bullets, and lunged at the masked individual in the chamber.
