Exile after Divorce? Empty the Scumbag Husband First!-Chapter 441 - 351: Yet Now She Harbors the Vicious Idea of Killing Her Husband—How Can He Still Turn a Blind Eye?!
Ruan Mian knew that Qin Fu intended to take that batch of weapons to Da Jing.
Plus, with the troops borrowed from Liao Lie, it was obvious what kind of schemes they were plotting.
However, the specific day they would enter Beijing, Ruan Mian had not yet found out.
But as for Prince Li, she definitely couldn’t miss this opportunity.
So she gladly agreed to Qin Fu’s words.
"Rest assured, sir, tomorrow I will surely make the Young Master happy."
Upon hearing this, Qin Fu was satisfied, rubbing his hands together. With Ruan Mian’s assurance, he was at ease.
Prince Li held a high position and had seen all kinds of women, but Ruan Mian possessed both looks and talent. Talking about weapons tomorrow, Qin Fu believed no man would fail to appreciate that.
Were it not for considering the long-term plan, he would have been tempted to claim this woman for himself.
But weighing the pros and cons, he knew he couldn’t lose the big picture over small matters.
After delivering the blueprints, Ruan Mian, during a garden tour, discreetly gained some intel from the servants, piecing together fragmented information about Prince Li.
In conclusion, he was not as frivolous as imagined. Rather, he seemed like a gentleman.
It was strange indeed. How could someone working for King Yan and part of the rebel main force be a gentleman?
Or perhaps this was just a facade he maintained in front of outsiders.
In reality, he might not be a gentleman at all.
But at least now, Ruan Mian had some sense of certainty in her heart.
The next day.
A simple sedan chair stopped outside the Qin Mansion.
Against the bright and splendid Qin Mansion, the sedan chair appeared rather out of place.
Today, Qin Fu had invited many guests to the mansion to welcome the arrival of Prince Li.
Everyone present was meeting Prince Li for the first time, especially being King Yan’s trusted aide, no one took it lightly.
Therefore, even though Qin Fu’s son had just finished his funeral rites, the mansion was decorated, and the servants were forbidden to mention the funeral lest they offend the Prince.
For a moment, the mansion’s backyard was full of song and dance, all in anticipation of the Prince’s arrival.
Just as the sedan chair arrived at the gate, Ruan Mian also arrived.
However, the guards at the entrance stopped the blue-shirted man who got off the sedan, looking displeased.
"Who are you? No entry without an invitation. Today, the Qin Mansion is hosting esteemed guests, not someone of your lowly stature."
Their eyes were unseeing, but Ruan Mian immediately noticed that despite his seemingly plain clothes, he wore a belt inlaid with gold and jade and subtler Sichuan embroidery, beyond the craft of an ordinary embroiderer.
Her eyes moved slightly as she approached to present an invitation.
"How could this gentleman have even a trace of the coarseness you mentioned? He is with me."
Seeing it was Ruan Mian, the guards quickly invited them in with smiles.
"Oh, so you’re Miss Ruan’s friend. Apologies for our offense!"
With that, they courteously made way.
The man’s tall figure and dignified features exuded grace, though he looked at Ruan Mian with some confusion.
Ruan Mian, however, merely said the word "please."
"Sir, please come inside."
After entering the mansion, the man slowly spoke, "Why did you help me out?"
Ruan Mian simply said, "Sir, you clearly are not a person of coarseness. If you come to the Qin Mansion, it must be for something important. Besides, with esteemed guests being hosted today, lingering outside for too long might offend someone."
"Now that you are inside, I won’t disturb you. Through this corridor, you’ll find the banquet in the back garden."
With that, she left without waiting for the man to speak.
At this moment, Yun Xiu was already waiting for her at the corridor and quickly approached as he saw her.
Though his eyes were still on that man, he was puzzled.
"Sister Mianmian, do you know that man?"
Ruan Mian shook her head, which made Yun Xiu even more puzzled, "If you don’t know him, why would you bring him in? I saw he was stopped at the gate because he had no invitation, what if he’s got ill intentions, and Qin Fu..."
"Others couldn’t see it, but I could. He is the esteemed guest we’re hosting today."
"Prince Li?" Yun Xiu was slightly taken aback, clearly not having imagined the esteemed guest others spoke of was such a plainly dressed man.
Ruan Mian, lost in thought, signaled Yun Xiu to avert his gaze.
"Helping the Prince is naturally beneficial to me."
"Later, just keep an ear out for any information. No matter what I do or what Qin Fu says to me, do not intervene. Do you understand?"
Yun Xiu frowned, "But what if they try to bully you? Shouldn’t I step in then?"
