Executioner's League-Chapter 74: The Good News!
Chapter 74 - 74: The Good News!
As the sleek vehicle
passed the last turn of the winding mountain road, the grand mansion of Aurora
Spritian came into view—its silhouette basking under the golden rays of the
setting sun. Towering spires touched the sky, and a cool breeze swept over the
cobbled driveway. The mansion, nestled between peaks, symbolized both strength
and refuge.
Kael stepped out first,
his eyes immediately locking on a familiar figure standing at the mansion's
entrance—Veyvron Krynn, his cloak billowing lightly in the wind, arms folded as
though he'd been expecting them.
"We completed our
mission," Kael said, walking toward him with a confident stride.
Veyvron's expression
remained calm but proud. "I knew all of you would succeed," he replied, his
voice deep and composed. "You've proven yourselves again."
Kyrin stepped forward with
a spark in his eyes. "Yes, Sensei. We were trained by the best—and we will
continue proving our strength."
Senjuro followed beside
him, a grin breaking across his usually stoic face. "You have our word, Sensei.
We'll rise—no, soar—to the ultimate ranks."
Veyvron raised his hand
with a chuckle. "That's enough for now. Save that fire for your training. Go
on—head to the arena. I'll take care of the cargo."
With a sharp gesture,
Veyvron summoned two guards clad in chrome armor enhanced with Spectra Flux
lining. They bowed and moved swiftly to the rear of the vehicle, retrieving the
securely sealed container carrying the Aetherian Flux and its compact generator.
As Senjuro, Kael, and
Kyrin made their way toward the underground training complex, Veyvron turned to
the side entrance and called out, "Syvaren."
The door hissed open, and
Syvaren emerged, already dressed in his lab attire, tablet in hand. He fell in
step beside Veyvron, the two heading into the research wing of the mansion.
"I've heard rumors,"
Veyvron said, voice low but urgent. "They say Aetherian Flux possesses the rare
ability to disintegrate residual Dark Energy."
Updat𝓮d from freewēbnoveℓ.com.
Syvaren nodded. "I've read
fragments of Dr. Kaelon's thesis. His last project theorized it could even
reverse core dormancy if combined with pure elemental catalysts."
Veyvron's tone deepened.
"Then let's run every test possible. If we can purify the cores of Kairen,
Zyren, and Syvian... we might have a chance to bring them back."
"I'll begin immediately,"
Syvaren replied, already typing in commands as the flux canister was placed
into containment.
Meanwhile, the training
arena echoed with the sound of exertion and sharpened focus. It was vast—half
virtual simulation, half physical terrain—with modular constructs shifting
according to the warrior's needs. The trio had returned not only with battle-tested
scars but newfound determination.
Kael, positioned in a Flux
chamber, was perfecting his movements with Xalvareth—his custom-forged
dagger-scythe powered by Hyper Resonance Flux. Each swing created harmonic
echoes in the chamber, trailing golden flux in elegant arcs. He was tuning his
senses, learning to resonate even deeper with the ambient energies around him.
Senjuro, on the adjacent
platform, was locked in a combat simulation against ten AI assassins, their
movements near-inhuman. His visor flickered as he tracked vital points,
executing swift, precise dagger strikes fueled by a fusion of pure agility and
flux manipulation.
"Come on," he muttered,
parrying a blade and dropping low to sweep another illusionary foe off his
feet. "Faster. Cleaner."
Kyrin, a few meters away,
was engaged in kinetic resistance training, channeling his Emberlight Flux into
explosive bursts against high-impact grav-plates. Sweat glistened on his brow,
but his stance remained rock-solid.
"Again!" he roared,
slamming his fists forward, a radiating pulse of luminance bursting through the
chamber walls.
After a while, the three
regrouped at the arena's center.
Kael exhaled deeply.
"We've improved. But this... this isn't enough yet."
Senjuro leaned on his
knees, nodding. "Zenyin was tough—and he was just a pawn in the grand scheme.
We're going to need to evolve."
Kyrin added, "Our
enemies—those following Eryx's shadow—they're growing in strength and number.
We'll need to transcend our limits."
Back in the lab, Syvaren
stood before a holographic display of the Aetherian Flux interacting with
isolated samples of Dark Energy. The results were nothing short of astounding.
"Incredible..." he murmured.
"The flux is breaking down the corruption—no residue, no residual backlash.
It's clean."
Veyvron approached,
watching as the corrupted cells within the simulation returned to a stabilized
state. "It's working."
Syvaren nodded. "We may be
able to begin the process of stabilizing the semi-dormant cores. But... it will
take time."
"How long?" Veyvron asked,
a trace of urgency in his voice.
"About three days for the
full purification cycle," Syvaren replied. "Then we can attempt the integration
process."
Veyvron looked toward the
training wing. "Tell them when it's ready. Until then, they must push harder.
Their Hybrid Cores are awakened—but they're not yet ascended."
The next day, the trio
resumed their rigorous routine. But the air felt different now. Kael's mind
replayed his battle with Zenyin Wysper—his deception, his betrayal, his fierce
dedication to Eryx's cause. More than strength, Kael realized, they were up against
a belief—a twisted loyalty to a fallen king.
As they trained, the
environment itself seemed to test them. The AI increased its difficulty levels,
simulating Organization Z operatives, dual-core adversaries, and unpredictable
flux anomalies.
Kael activated a custom
simulation: "Project Echelon: Segrito Echo." A high-level training protocol
designed to simulate warfare at the edge of flux capacity.
As it loaded, a voiceover
of Dr. Kaelon played from the archives. "Strength is not in control, but in
harmony. You must resonate with chaos—bend it but not break it."
Kael took a deep breath
and raised Xalvareth. "Let's see if I can do that, Father."
Meanwhile, Senjuro was
immersed in deciphering new attack algorithms using his hybrid core, such as Auroracrynn—a
manifestation of multiple variations of the Ten Energies of Aurora Spritian.
His strikes began to glow with intricate symbols representing elements like
Voltrune, Cryon, Solshade, and Emberlight.
Kyrin, on the other hand,
had developed a rapid-fire adaptation technique, channeling his flux through
projectile weaponry and energy fists. His coordination with Kael during
sparring simulations was nearing perfect sync.
Three days later, the
purification cycle concluded. Veyvron gathered the trio in the main chamber.
"It's time," he announced.
"Syvaren will now begin integrating the Aetherian Flux into the cores of
Kairen, Zyren, and Syvian. We will attempt their revival within the next
twenty-four hours."
The air felt heavy with
anticipation.
"But you must be
prepared," Veyvron added. "In case the procedure attracts... unwanted
attention."
"You mean them?" Kael
asked, eyes narrowing.
Veyvron nodded. "Zryven
Yvan, and those like him. They move in the shadows—and they want that flux
destroyed."
Senjuro clenched his fist.
"Then let them come."
Veyvron smiled faintly.
"That's the spirit. But stay sharp. The revival of your comrades could be our
greatest triumph—or the moment they try to break us."
Kael raised Xalvareth and
looked toward the horizon. "Then we'll stand. Not just for them—but for what
we're becoming."
And with that, the
preparations for the integration began—one step closer to resurrection, and one
step closer to the next battle that would decide the fate of not only their
comrades... but the world they were bound to protect.
