Chapter 93: Lightning, Ice and Calamity

Now, the captain of the train wasn’t aware of the commission going on at the later sections of the train.

As a result, the train kept rumbling forwards its destination.

Back at the later cars, Thunderlash and the Calamity Creature were still engaging eachother on a head to head brutal collision of warfare.

They had completely destroyed the car they had started in and transferred to another car with which the civilians ran backwards to the later car for safety.

Thunderlash was nearing his limits at this point, the Calamity Creature was on par with an upper B-Class or even an A-Class Hero output. Plus his limited space restricted his movements and didn’t allow him to effectively utilize his equipments and fighting style.

Call Center

Tower A

Sector A.

Casey; the quick witted subordinates of The Apostle sat at her desk tapping away on her keyboard, trying to find a way to communicate to the captain the train.

Possibly telling him to stop the train due to the presence of a Calamity Creature on board.

The call center had returned to its usual calm but thick atmosphere. Everyone kept tabs on the situation with Thunderlash and the train.

Also actively trying to reach heroes nearby to assist for help.

One was contacted, Ice Blast. B-Class, Rank 19.

Since the reassessment day and the ascension of Boomerang Man B-Class Rank 18, her rank has dropped down a piece.

The Apostles voice patched through to her pager and informed her about the ongoing crisis. Without hesitation, she immediately transformed and blasted into the air en route to help Thunderlash.

Everything seemed under control in the call center room, that was until another emergency call alarm disrupted the quietness of the room.

Casey immediately picked up the phone and responded accordingly.

"ISA emergency hotline, what’s your emergency please?" She said with a practiced professionalism.

The voice on the other end of the phone was erratic and frantic much like that of the previous one, maybe even worse. This time, in the background the sound of a large number of people panicking filled the room.

"Help!!!! It’s a Calamity Creature! One of those things! It blasted out from the toilet of the control room!"

The Apostle jumped from his seat, made a beeline for Casey and snatched the pager from her hands.

"Listen to me, you are speaking with The Apostle: Chief Reporter of the Call Center and the right hand bodyguard to the ISA president! Tell me what is your location"

Whirr.

"Uh uh uh! The airport, the airport at Sector D!"

"Sector D airport? How does a Calamity Creature walk into an airport without being noticed?!"

He slammed the pager angrily and pushed Casey off her seat and began tapping away on her keyboard.

"Sector D is home to the one and only SSS-Class hero..."

The entire staff of the call center gasped in amazement at the mere mention of SSS-Class.

"Bionic... Come in..."

Abandoned Warehouse

Sector D.

"I’m listening..."

I stood in the concrete floor of the abandoned warehouse heaving with sweat, as well as Jake.

We had been at the warehouse all morning sparring eachother, teaching him a few more moves and technique to perfect his fighting attributes and also showing him how to effectively utilize his equipments.

That was until an incoming call patched through to the Forever Core’s system straight from the ISA Call Center.

The call lasted for a few seconds as Jake watched me. Almost as if he was able to hear what was being discussed on the call, he immediately began to gear up into his superhero outfit and by the time I was done, he was fully dressed and perched ontop his bike ready for action.

I smirked and exchanged looks with him, he nodded slightly and furrowed his eyebrows without saying a word.

"Sector D Airport..." I said, that was all I needed to say. That was the only information needed to be passed, the location of the trouble and we were already ready to take on whatever was waiting for us.

Vroom!

Boomerang Man revved the engine of his twin turbine motorcycle— The Boomerang Mobile and zoomed off and out of the warehouse with incredible speed.

I watched him disappear down the road and out of sight before I turned and—

"Initiate..."

Ice Blast made it to the location of the speed train but tried to find a way to make an entrance, until she was instructed by The Apostle to inform the captain seating at the first car to stop the train.

She blasted forward towards the first car and on arrival she wasted no time.

Shattering the glass window and stunning the captain, she pushed him aside and immediately took over off the controls pulling the train to an emergency stop.

The loud sound of metal scraping against metal filled the air as the train dragged all its cars to a stop.

Immediately the train lost its momentum, Thunderlash saw his opportunity and burst a huge hole through the train walls with his twin saber, exiting the train and the Calamity Creature followed suit.

The civilians ran out of the train in extreme panic while Thunderlash and the monster resumed their fight.

Slashing claws and the sound of electricity slicing through the air were effectively prominent as they exchanged a series of blows between eachother.

The surrounding outside the train looked a lot less than the city, there were bushes, trees, shrubs and clearings everywhere with no buildings readily in sight. 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚

Thunderlash was closing in on his limits, his physical body began giving in to fatigue and exhaustion.

It was almost over for him when a lag in his attack left his body open and the Calamity Creature found a good space to attack and go for the kill.

That was until a huge blast of ice fell directly on the Calamity Creatures neck, freezing it to the spot it stood with its claws a hair inch away from Thunderlash’s eyeball.

Thunderlash’s chest heaved up and down in realization to what would have happened if Ice Blast hadn’t showed up when she did.

He shuffled back, creating space between him and the frozen monster.

"Boy I’m I glad to see that blue icy pupils of your..." He said while trying to catch his breath.

Ice Blast lowered slowly from the air and landed gently beside Thunderlash.

"I’m glad I could be if assistance... This is the second time I’m saving your skin... They do not have to send both of us on the same mission just because we’re closely rated and belong to the same guild..." She said, her voice sounded like a thousand orchestras spoke along side with her, word for word.

She processed to analyze the frozen Calamity Creature.

"Hehe, they put us on the same mission cause we make a good team my lady... I’m fire, your ice... What other sign do you need..." Thunderlash dropped to his knees as he tired to nurse his wounds.

"Electricity... You’re electricity..." Ice Blast corrected as she circled around the creature.

"You’re going to get a huge chunk of the Units and Rank points for this mission, although it wouldn’t have been successful without my input... I suggest you finish off what you started..."

Thunderlash smirked, "Why how thoughtful of you, my ice queen..." He said climbing back to his feet.

"Give me some space would ya! I wanna destroy it with prejudice..."

Ice Blast hopped out of the way.

Skrrrrr!

Thunderlash spread his feet and activated his electrified whip lashes letting them sprawl out like a live lengthy snake.

He exhaled slowly and furrowed his eyebrows intensively.

"Supreme Skill: Halo Electric Dragon Head—"

His movements were sleek and spotless, swift and perfect. A multi-directional slash attack that targeted the Calamity Creature from various angles.

Bzzt!

Sizzle!

Sizzle!

Bzzt!

Electricity sparked at all angles as he sliced and cut the frozen creature into huge chunks of pieces and watched it crumble to the ground like a sand castle.

Ice Blast watched him in amazement as he glared at the mutilated Calamity Creature once standing with incredible height and power now chunks of reddish meat. His attacks even melted all of her ice.

"Hmmm..." She tried maintaining her composure but was already surprised by his magnificent feat. "Only heroes from A-Class and above have been seen to have Supreme Skill. You should probably reconsider taking a reassessment test..."

"Thanks for the compliment icy... But I’m good where I’m at, I’ll probably consider that when I get to B-Class Rank 1."

"Are you not capable of a Supreme Skill yourself...?" Thunderlash asked as he flung himself to the floor trying to catch his breath.

"Well, I—"

Ice Blast was about speaking when something interrupted her.

A loud boom.

Bang!

It came a couple feet from where they stood and just beside a few cars ahead the length of the train.

Smoke and dust kicked up, disrupting their ability to see what caused the bang.

The dust finally cleared and right in the center of it all—

"Finally, strong heroes I can take down!"

"Huh?!"

Thunderlash and Ice Blast stared at him stunned, not knowing what to do.

"Both of you look strong... You that just killed that monster, will die first!"
