Evolving Infinitely From An E-Class Hero-Chapter 91: Lightning On The Line
"Casey!" The Apostle barked.
A sharp eyed operator with a clear knack for quick thinking spun in her chair.
"Yes sir!" She replied with hesitation.
"What hero is available and closest for the rescue?" The Apostle demanded, his tone brooking no delay.
Casey’s screen flashed with data as her fingers immediately started moving over her keyboard, pulling out the ISA’s hero database.
"B-Class Hero... Thunderlash," she said "His guild has clearance for ISA deployment, but there’s an extra commission for sudden service as of this such!..."
The Apostle’s eyes blazed with frustration. Lives were slipping away with every second. "Casey, the ISA doesn’t lack funds," he snapped back. "People donate millions every fucking second to keep the world safe from shit like this! Get Thunderlash there NOW!"
"Roger that!" Casey nodded, her hands blurred as she sent the emergency dispatch. "Patching through to Thunderlash’s pager" she confirmed with a steady voice despite the tension in the room.
The Apostle turned to the monitor and the light from the monitor displayed his grimly scarred face.
The world map zoomed in on the trains location and it’s route, a red dot marking its position as it hurtled toward Sector A.
"Hold on! Get me a list of every passenger that boarded that train!"

Atop A High Rise Building.
Sector B.
Thunderlash perched on the edge of a skyscraper, his blue superhero gear glinting in the midday sun.
His electrified surfboard, wedged against a concrete wall, sizzled with blue sparks.
The B-Class hero, known for his reckless charm and lightning-fast reflexes, hummed a catchy tune as he took a hearty bite of a Big Mac with ketchup smearing his chin.
The city buzzed below with traffic sounds, a symphony of horns and distant sirens, construction machines doing what they do best and so on and so forth. But Thunderlash was in his element, savoring the moment.
Then—
*Ding!
A sharp ding sound from the wrist device strapped to his arm interrupted his humming and chewing.
He tapped it, and the Apostle’s voice crackled through immediately, urgently and commanding.
"Good day, Thunderlash. Your heroic intervention is required this very instant. A Calamity Creature has somehow boarded the train from Sector B to Sector A."
"Your mission: determine its threat level of this specific Calamity Creature and neutralize it with immediate effect. You are authorized to kill on sight. This is not a recon mission, I repeat, this is not a recon."
Thunderlash’s grin widened, his eyes sparking with excitement.
"Looks like it’s time to catch a train! Woohoo! My first Calamity Creature mission!"
He tossed the half-eaten burger over the edge of the skyscraper, where it plummeted toward the streets below.
With a fluid motion, he leapt onto his surfboard, its surface humming as blue electricity surged through it. The board roared to life, lifting him into the air with a burst of speed that sent him shooting forward like a bullet fired from a highly suffocated rifle.
Whoosh!" he shouted, his voice lost in the wind as he rocketed through the sky.
The city blurred beneath him, skyscrapers giving way to open fields as he tracked the train’s route from the device on his wrist.
His surfboard crackled, leaving a faint trail of sparks behind him. Thunderlash’s heart raced, not with fear but with the thrill of the hunt.
A Calamity Creature was no small foe since their debut they’ve been known by the public as monstrous entities born of chaos, capable of leveling they touched if left unchecked.
But Thunderlash was no ordinary hero. His lightning-based powers, honed through years of training, made him a force to be reckoned with and coupled with his ranking he has the confidence to face danger head on.
As he soared, his wrist device pinged again, updating him with the train’s coordinates.
"Almost there," he muttered.
His eyes narrowing as he spotted the sleek silver bullet train cutting through the landscape below.
Smoke trailed from one of its cars, and even from this distance, he could see the chaos unfolding. Windows shattered, passengers screaming. The Calamity Creature was already at work.
"Bro how the fuck does an odd looking creature like that get into a train packed with normal looking human beings? That doesn’t make any sense!"
"And this train is en route to Sector A! That’s literally where the ISA headquarters is located! I can’t let this creature cross the confines of this train and out into the public!"
Grrr!
Thunderlash angled his surfboard downward, diving toward the train like a bolt of lightning. His mission was clear, but these questions gnawed at him. How had a Calamity Creature boarded a train undetected? it seemed highly unlikely at this point that a monstrous looking beast like that would just walk into a train without drawing an form of attention.
The answers would have to wait. For now, only one thing mattered: stopping the creature before it reached Sector A.
The wind howled in his ears as he closed the distance, the train’s roof rushing up to meet him.
With a deft twist, he landed on the speeding train, his surfboard skidding to a stop. Sparks danced around him, his blue gear glowing faintly in the fading light.
"Time to crash this party," he said, cracking his knuckles. The screams from inside grew louder, and the stench of blood and decay hit him like a wave. Whatever was in there, it was no ordinary monster.
Thunderlash gripped the edge of a hatch, his muscles tensing. With a surge of electricity, he ripped it open and dropped into the chaos below, ready to face the Calamity Creature.
The second he dropped, he was met with a blazing, strong arm, swinging at him. Thankfully, his surf board was in the way and the punch landed on it, and the energy from the board converted a spread across the room like fireworks.
He slid back from the impact and glanced up to see what made contact with him, his eyes widened with disbelief and surprise as he took in the image.
Then he scoffed. "Pfft! You’re fucking ugly!".
