Evolution Online: Building a Kingdom with 100\% drop rate-Chapter 6: Ch-: Exchange Center
"Huh?" Victor raised an eyebrow and was startled by the sudden quest he received from the Records, but when he read the rewards, his heart skipped a beat for a second for some reason.
"I should first complete the quest; hunting can wait," Victor thought as he left the hunting grounds.
---
As Victor returned back to the compound, he could hear faint whispers about the dagger he had sold and how useful it was, but everyone stopped talking when they saw him appearing, many casting fearful and wary glances at him. Well, it was obvious—he had killed someone without blinking an eye.
Step. Step.
"Yes?" Victor raised an eyebrow when two bulky men blocked his path and looked at him with indifference.
"Hey, are you from an influential family?" the young man asked, causing Victor to frown.
"Why do you want to know?" Victor responded calmly.
"Just answer our question," the man asked, a hint of nervousness creeping into his voice.
"No, I’m not," Victor replied calmly, as he could already guess what was happening.
The moment they heard Victor’s reply, the tension in their shoulders relaxed, and they looked at him with barely hidden disdain.
"We’re both from the Ruth Family. We want you to assist us until the trial is over. We’ll make sure to compensate you generously once the trial ends and we return to the real world," said the young man.
"Also, we really appreciate talent. The way you ruthlessly killed that player for messing with you earned some brownie points with us, and we both want to recruit you. You should be grateful," the other man added.
’The Ruth siblings... wait, weren’t they that infamous duo?’ Victor recognized them. They were part of a third-rate dark guild known for killing players for profit in the early stages.
"Ruth Family? Never heard of it. The way you were behaving, I thought you must be from one of the top families," Victor sighed and walked past them, leaving them stunned before anger surfaced on their faces.
The pair frowned at Victor’s clear defiance, and the young man spoke coldly, "Fine, I’m done being nice. Listen here, you bastard. If you don’t join us, we’ll make your life a living hell in here and once we return to the outside world. Don’t think that just because your true identity is hidden by the system now, it will remain so in the future."
Hearing their words, Victor paused his steps, and the two young men exchanged smug glances, haughty smiles spreading across their faces as they reveled in their apparent victory, assuming they had intimidated him.
Without uttering a single word, Victor turned and looked at the pair without any emotion.
Woosh
"!!!" The pair’s eyes constricted when Victor moved his hand swiftly in a fluid motion and grasped both of their necks. The sudden and bold action left everyone nearby utterly stunned, their eyes widening in shock at the unexpected turn of events.
"Guh—what the hell do you think you’re doing? Let us go!" both of them shouted in panicked voices as they struggled to breathe, a deep fear taking root in their hearts. They had thought he would be intimidated by their threats.
Victor paid no attention to their protests and slowly hoisted their bodies into the air, saying in a cold voice, "Do you think I’m afraid? Didn’t you see how I killed the other guy who messed with me? Let me make it clear—if you mess with me, I will kill you."
’No... I’m Level 2, and I had a group helping me. Damn it, is he a higher level than us?’ both of them thought, immediately regretting provoking him.
Thud
Victor tossed both of them aside like trash and walked away.
Ignoring the wary and fearful looks around him, Victor headed straight to the exchange center with his loot.
"I’ve harvested around 66 monster cores and also have weapons and other materials I can sell. That should be more than enough to rent the most advanced crafting room, and I should still have plenty of points left to buy weapon blueprints," Victor muttered.
Tap.
"Excuse me, how much does it cost to rent a crafting room?" Victor asked as he tapped the wooden table. A cold beauty looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
"Take this catalogue. Everything from buying to selling rates is listed inside," the woman said as she handed him a catalogue, which Victor accepted.
Glancing through the catalogue, he saw many items that caught his interest. Looking at the point list in front of him, even though he already knew the prices, he couldn’t help but roll his eyes when he saw the most expensive ones—items clearly more suitable for non-Warlocks.

"Hoho, this is more than enough." Victor smirked and then looked at the lady at the counter. Before he brought out his items, he transferred all of his loot from his inventory to the storage device the Black Church had given them, as he did not want his inventory skill to get exposed.
"I would like to sell these," Victor said as he tossed the device to the lady, which she caught. The lady yawned as she took the device.
"Huh?" The lady’s eyes widened when she saw the contents, but she quickly composed herself and shot an incredulous look at Victor.
Ignoring the shopkeeper’s stunned expression, he asked, "How much can I get for these?"
"I can give you 50,000 points for these. Are you okay with this amount?" the worker asked.
"Yes, it’s fine." Victor nodded. He had not given all the loot he had obtained—just enough to avoid arousing suspicion.
"Oh, I also want to rent the crafting room and buy these," Victor said. The lady nodded and then handed him a card. "This card contains 47,000 points after deducting the cost. If you stay in the crafting room for more than one hour, points will be automatically deducted from the card"
Victor nodded and left the exchange center.
