Everyone's Class: One Effort, 10,000x Bonus Reward!-Chapter 270: Aiden’s Thoughts, Trouble Starts
Bold!
The moment Aiden heard that sentence, that was the only word in his mind.
He thought the lord of the Black City would say something else, or try to negotiate with those giant Skeletons.
But he didn’t expect that guy to show such no surrender at all, immediately preparing for battle.
"Arrogant! Catherine, you should know that the Swarm is awakening. We Skeletons are only acting on the order of a certain Lord," the Tiger Skeleton shouted, his voice thick with threats.
Catherine, the lord of the Black City, gave the Tiger Skeleton a cold look.
Her face was covered by a black mask, so no expression could be seen, but her eyes burned with determination. She replied:
"Even if a mid-tier Demon God, a high-tier Demon God, or even a Supreme God descends, I will stand up to them."
"The rules of the Black City will only change after I am dead."
"No Abyss creature that enters the Black City’s range is allowed to harm anyone. Here, fighting and killing are strictly forbidden!"
"You can’t drag a single living being out of the Black City by force!"
"Unless... you have to go through my dead body first."
Catherine suddenly swung the massive halberd in her hand, which was over three meters long. A powerful gust of wind erupted instantly, whipping the long hair behind her back.
"Fight or leave!" Catherine’s voice was icy cold.
The Skeleton named Allen couldn’t help but take a step forward. He knew where the treasure of the Swarm was hidden, and it was inside the Black City. He had to catch Irene!
Just then, Catherine suddenly turned her gaze toward Allen.
The Tiger Skeleton quickly raised its massive bone claw to block Allen, whispering, "Don’t be rash. You can’t beat her; this woman is notorious for being crazy."
He took a deep look at Catherine and threatened, "I hope you’re still able to say that when we meet again."
"We are just following orders. If we fail, that Lord will step in personally."
"When that happens, not only will you die, but the Black City will be reduced to ruins and cease to exist."
"Take a few days to think it over: hand over Irene, or choose your own destruction!"
After saying this, the Tiger Skeleton turned to the other giant Skeletons surrounding them and shouted, "Retreat! Deploy the Bone Lock Formation together!"
Instantly, those giant Skeletons backed away almost thirty kilometers.
Their massive bone bodies suddenly shattered into individual bone pieces, which then arranged themselves according to a unique pattern.
Boom!
A gigantic white Six-pointed Star Ritual Circle appeared.
Countless bones gathered together, forming a massive wall that completely surrounded the Black City.
Aiden turned his head stiffly, staring at the tall bone wall behind them, his eyes wide with shock.
He and Radiant Blade were right in the middle, now trapped inside this bone barrier.
"Bella, can this thing seal off space?" Aiden analyzed it quickly and concluded that space-traveling items would definitely not work inside the bone wall.
Otherwise, why would these giant Skeletons bother creating such a wall?
Still, he wasn’t ready to give up yet.
The main reason was that if his guess was right, the invitation to the Abyss Heartspire Auction would be useless!
He had been hoping to attend that mysterious auction to find a Second Class Scroll or to exchange his vast amount of Mythic Rank materials for things that could instantly boost his power.
"What secret of the Swarm does Irene know?" Bella ignored Aiden’s question and whispered to herself, "That it’s worth these Skeletons taking such extreme measures?"
The news of what’s happening in the Black City will quickly spread among Demons, Mikos, powerful Wraiths, and other Abyss creatures.
The trouble has gone far beyond her expectations.
"Bella?" Aiden spoke up again.
Bella snapped back to reality and nodded. "Right, I can feel it. This entire space is completely sealed off."
"The Abyss Pass and the Teleportation Scroll won’t work anymore."
"Of course," she continued, "since it’s just a formation cast by Great Venerable-level Skeletons, we could still leave if we had Mythic Rank teleport items, or if a Divine Powerhouse or Demon God created a teleport array infused with the Force of Laws."
"But right now, we can’t do either of those."
Bella took a deep breath, let out a helpless laugh, and said, "Looks like we’re stuck here in the Pink Desire Shop for a few more days."
Aiden kept his expression calm, but inwardly, he remembered the blessing from the Supreme Miko. He secretly checked his equipment stats.
[Supreme Miko’s Blessing: Mythic Rank, Special Equipment, Bound. Forged from the Wraithshard Strength of the Supreme Miko. Grants the user 30% omnidirectional life steal (including physical, magical, and true damage). Within a 10km radius, every time an enemy dies, the user regains a small amount of mana. The stronger the dead enemy, the more mana is restored.]
[This item also provides Intangibility and Random Long-Range Teleportation.]
[Intangibility: Active effect. The user can enter a state of intangibility, becoming immune to all damage (except attacks from a Divine Powerhouse using the Force of Laws). However, while intangible, the user cannot move or cast skills. The maximum duration is 3 seconds, but you can cancel it early. Remaining uses: 5.]
[Random Long-Range Teleportation: Active effect. After 0.5 seconds, the user is randomly teleported to a location up to 3000km away. The destination is uncontrollable. Remaining uses: 10.]
"If I activate the Random Long-Range Teleportation from the Supreme Miko’s Blessing, I should be able to get out of the Black City, right?" Aiden sighed with a bit of relief.
But then, a bold idea popped into his mind: "What if I use that teleport to drag Irene out of the siege along with me? Then I might still have a chance to make a deal with her."
"Getting the location of the Swarm’s secret treasure might be tough, but trading for other things shouldn’t be too hard."
Aiden took a deep breath. It was just an idea. Whether it could work and what he’d gain depended entirely on how things played out.
He and Bella waited a little while longer. Only after the Lord of the Black City entered the city did Aiden fly toward the entrance with Bella.
Of course, before that, Aiden put on the Orc Disguise Mask again.
No one else knew his true identity as the Slaughter Demon Aelris yet, and he wasn’t stupid enough to use the Aberrant Fleshweaver disguise mask in front of Bella.
But his disguise as a werewolf using the Orc Disguise Mask wouldn’t easily be exposed.
Once inside the Black City, Bella stood excitedly on Aiden’s shoulder, looking around.
She saw Demons, Mikos, Orcs, and others everywhere. Their faces were filled with tension and anxiety. They kept looking up at the towering bone wall in the distance, whispering among themselves:
"Sigh, how did this happen? What are we supposed to do now?"
"Yeah, Lord Catherine is probably going to hand over that Irene. Otherwise, the Black City is doomed."
"Do you think you know who Irene is? What exactly does she have that made so many Grand Duke-level Skeletons chase her?"
"No one knows. Those Skeletons never leave their territories so easily before."
"What if Lord Catherine refuses to give her up? What then?"
"This is too hard. If there was a way to send that Irene away, these Skeletons would follow her, and the Black City would be safe again."
"I agree. The Black City is one of the few places in the Abyss that can hold all races. If it’s destroyed, I don’t know where I’d go," said an Abyss creature with a human body, but a fly’s head and wings, looking gloomy.
Listening to these whispers, Aiden thought back to the idea that had just crossed his mind.
Maybe he really could use the Supreme Miko’s Blessing to help the Black City resolve this crisis.
Of course, he wouldn’t just jump in to help for nothing.
After all, the Random Long-Range Teleportation from the Supreme Miko’s Blessing has a limited number of uses.
Besides, he wasn’t planning to act on that idea in his head just yet.
The situation wasn’t settled, and the Black City wasn’t at its most dangerous point yet.
There’s a saying: when someone lacks nothing, even the most expensive gift means less than handing them a burger when they are down on their luck and starving.
"Besides, those human women from the Elephant Empire won’t survive if the Black City is destroyed."
"Let’s wait and see," Aiden thought. "If possible, I’d like to get as much benefit as I can. But if it comes down to it, I won’t just stand by and do nothing for the sake of my own kind."
He wasn’t a good man, nor was he kind. Naturally, he wouldn’t sacrifice his own interests right away just to do the right thing.
Just as he was thinking this, he suddenly noticed Bella on his shoulder flying rapidly toward that Interracial Pink Desire Shop he had visited before.
"Quick! Go get your best-singing employee out here!" Bella shouted loudly.
The cow beastwoman Aiden recognized, swaying her enormous Boobs, rushed out in a panic.
The moment Bella saw her, she instinctively looked down at her own chest and her mouth flew open.
"Sir, I’m so sorry, we’ve had some trouble and had to stop serving customers for now. You can go to..." the cow beastwoman started to say.
But then she spotted Aiden. Her eyes lit up, and she quickly said,
"Werewolf, your friend is in big trouble!"
