Chapter 452: Chapter 442: Soul Destroying Arrow

Adding a War Venerate level strength to the mix doesn’t mean that Copper Valley Tribe will certainly have the upper hand. After all, War Venerates are classified by rank as well; a First Tier War Venerate going against an Eighth Tier War Venerate, for example, would not only be utterly overpowered by a single hand, but an advantage in numbers, even dozens more, wouldn’t compensate for the gap in combat power.

They’d still have to fight to know for sure.

When the top combat powers clashed head-on, the mid-tier engaged with their own, and the low-tier were not idle either, engaging in a blood battle as well.

Chu Hao put away all sympathy; this was war. If he were to show mercy now, he would likely pay with his life.

And he did not want to die at all.

Then kill!

He navigated the war chariot, unleashing a fierce and ruthless slaughter. His War King level power was overwhelming, instantly killing War Generals and Warriors upon contact, with no suspense. However, it wasn’t long before he met an opponent.

This was a War King from the Iron Bull Tribe, over two meters tall with an imposing build, and wielding a bone rod that flickered with astonishing brilliance and emitted a fearsome oppressive force.

"I am Tie Shan, a tribal warrior!" the War King shouted. "Foreigner, surrender your life to enhance the glory of my bone rod."

"Freak, you’re the one who should surrender!" Gu Qingcheng immediately counterattacked. She and Chu Hao worked as a team—she on offense, and he on glib talk—all military merits, of course, were shared.

"Impudent! How dare a woman speak like that in front of a tribal warrior!" Tie Shan huffed, but seeing Gu Qingcheng’s stunning beauty and allure, even his warrior heart seemed to melt. He lowered his voice, "I’ll take you to bear me a brood of children!"

Gu Qingcheng tapped Chu Hao on the shoulder and said, "Someone’s trying to snatch your woman, you’re okay with that?"

"I never said I’d marry you, but this big guy is too arrogant, that can’t be tolerated!" Chu Hao raised his hand and unleashed a Crescent Slash.

Tie Shan lifted his bone rod to meet the attack. With a loud bang, the Crescent Slash shattered, emitting dazzling light, but the bone rod remained unscathed.

Chu Hao clicked his tongue in amazement. He had infused the Crescent Slash with Starlight, naturally giving it fearsome destructive power, but it didn’t even leave a scratch on the bone rod, which was a testament to its hardness.

Who knows which ferocious beast it had been taken from—if it were human bone... unless one practiced Body Cultivation, not even the remains of a War God could be so durable.

"Hahaha, foolish outsider, die!" Tie Shan leapt high, brandishing his bone rod as he hammered down towards Chu Hao.

The advantage of a war chariot lies in the enhancement of both offense and defense, not just marginally but a qualitative leap. However, it’s not without drawbacks. When it comes to agility, a massive chariot can’t compare to an individual. Even if a chariot is actually faster, it still requires time to accelerate.

Facing this sudden explosive attack, Chu Hao could only brace to take it. He transformed his hands into palms, executing seven combined forms.

Boom, a tremendous force formed a Star Force Giant Hand, striking out at Tie Shan.

"Break for me!" Tie Shan swung his bone rod down with force. Bang! The two powers collided, causing a terrible shockwave.

Boom, boom, boom, boom—War Kings around were affected, and even War Generals who were a bit further away staggered, barely able to stand firm.

Tie Shan was knocked back but emerged unscathed, roaring and charging back into the fray with ferocious might.

Chu Hao, now thrilling in battle, sneered, "Afraid I am not!"

He steered the war chariot to meet the onslaught, displaying one ultimate move after another.

Tie Shan was definitely the strongest War King of the Iron Bull Tribe. It’s no wonder he dared to claim the title of "tribal warrior"—a title of great honor held only by the strongest War King beneath the War Venerates.

Chu Hao was a Second Tier War General, with power roughly at Sixth Tier. His combat power was even stronger, reaching up to Eighth Tier. Amplified by the war chariot, his combat prowess was comparable to a Sixth Tier War King, which was frightening indeed.

But Tie Shan was a Nine Grade War King, with terrifying combat power. Once he fully unleashed his strength, he was almost constantly pressing down on Chu Hao.

Luckily, Chu Hao was still protected by the defenses of the war chariot, otherwise a regular Sixth Tier War King would undoubtedly be crushed into a pulp by Tie Shan’s blows.

"That’s not fair!" Gu Qingcheng exclaimed. "You lout, let’s switch opponents. If it goes on like this, we won’t earn any military merits."

"What’s the point of picking on easy targets? I want to defeat him!" Chu Hao’s eyes shone brightly with fighting spirit. Such an opponent was worth fighting against.

"Alas, how did I come to fancy such a battle maniac!" Gu Qingcheng sighed, her hand to her forehead.

"Isn’t that what you like about me?" Chu Hao laughed heartily.

"Vanity!" Gu Qingcheng sniffed, but inwardly she nodded; without such shining qualities, how could Chu Hao have captured her heart?

"Daring to flirt in front of me!" Tie Shan roared in fury, sweeping the bone rod in a furious assault.

Rumbling thunderously, the bone rod repeatedly struck the war chariot. Though it could not breach the material of War Venerate level, it shook the chariot incessantly, almost causing Gu Qingcheng to fall off.

Chu Hao wrapped an arm around Gu Qingcheng’s slender waist and said, "You really know how to make trouble for me!" 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Embracing a beauty in one hand, and annihilating enemies with a smile, that is the style of a king. I am creating opportunities for you!" Gu Qingcheng giggled, "But on the other hand, we can’t keep on taking hits passively."

"Of course not!" Chu Hao laughed heartily, his mind shifted, and immediately the Fire Phoenix soared into the sky.

"Yah, yah, yah, get down here!" Tie Shan, having lost his target, beat his chest and roared, wishing he could sprout wings to chase after it.

"I have no grudge with him, why does he keep targeting me?" Chu Hao looked to Gu Qingcheng and said, "It must be because of you, you demoness."

"Of course, any man who doesn’t have intentions toward me can’t be considered a man!" Gu Qingcheng said proudly, then threw a coquettish glance at Chu Hao, "Should I leave a door open for you tonight?"

"You, can you have a little dignity?" Chu Hao’s heart fluttered, almost causing the war chariot to drop from the sky.

"Better to turn the raw rice into cooked rice before that Cold one takes advantage," Gu Qingcheng said unabashedly, already starting to ask for Chu Hao’s preference, "Do you like to take the initiative, or should this miss take the lead?"

"I wish you could be quiet for a bit, otherwise, I wouldn’t mind spanking you first!" Chu Hao sighed. This demoness sure picked the time and place for her coquetry.

He began to gather Star Force, pouring it into the war chariot.

The reason a war chariot can become a major weapon is because of one function, it can condense Star Force, unleashing a terrifying strike. However, on such a battlefield, it’s difficult to find the chance to amass power, because attacks are coming from all directions.

But Chu Hao’s war chariot was different, able to fly through the air, leaving attacks below unable to reach it, naturally allowing him to gather force with ease.

Hum, a white orb of light appeared at the top of his war chariot, growing bigger and bigger.

Below, Tie Shan couldn’t help but show a look of fear; he was well aware of this function of the war chariot. He had nothing to worry about as long as he kept the pressure on, Chu Hao wouldn’t have time to amass power. He certainly hadn’t expected this war chariot to be capable of flight.

He gritted his teeth and turned to run.

He mingled into the crowd, knowing if Chu Hao launched that strike now, it would inevitably harm others as well.

Chu Hao chuckled, adjusting the direction slightly, boom, the orb of light shot out and went straight into the rear camp of the Iron Bull Tribe, instantly causing a huge explosion, killing dozens of people in an instant.

"Damn it!" Tie Shan cursed, but the idea of receiving a fully charged strike from the war chariot was even more impossible. "Call forth the Ancestral Bow!" he bellowed, running to the rear of the battle line, an Iron Belly Bow already in his hands.

The bow may have looked unremarkable, but when Tie Shan notched a metal arrow and drew it aimed at Chu Hao, it immediately instilled a strong sense of dread in Chu Hao, prompting him to increase the flow of Star Force into the war chariot.

However, this time it wasn’t to launch an attack, but to form a defensive shield.

Whoosh! The arrow shot out, swift as light, reaching its target in just an instant, aiming straight for Chu Hao’s forehead.

Hum!

The defensive shield of the war chariot activated, blocking the arrow, but it was frighteningly powerful, continuously breaking through, getting closer and closer, until it finally stopped a mere three inches from Chu Hao’s brow.

Even so, blood flowed from Chu Hao’s forehead, and it felt as though his brain had been pierced by a needle, almost splitting apart.

"It’s a Soul Piercing Arrow!" Fat Cat flashed into view on top of the war chariot, the shield ineffective against it. Stretching out a claw, it grabbed the arrow, examining it closely while clicking its tongue in admiration, "Hao, if your reaction was even a step slower, you’d have been pierced through the soul and brain, dead on the spot. This thing is made for killing Divine Souls, no telling how many strong ones it has taken down in the past."

Chu Hao touched his forehead, also feeling a chill down his spine, not expecting Tie Shan to resort to such a fearsome weapon, but luckily the war chariot was strong enough.

"But now, that big fool must be crying," Fat Cat laughed, "This Soul Piercing Arrow is probably the only one in the whole tribe, always used to take down the strongest of foes. Now that it’s been used on you, a minor character, and failed to achieve its purpose, it’s quite the loss."

"Who are you calling a minor character?" Gu Qingcheng said discontentedly. This was the man she had set her sights on.

"Now, it’s our turn to strike back!" Chu Hao started to gather power again, the light orb reappearing at the front of the war chariot.

Below, Tie Shan was roaring in rage. The Soul Piercing Arrow was supposed to be used for stealth attacks on War Venerates, but he figured Chu Hao was just a minor War General, vulnerable to a sudden killer move.

He could have never imagined Chu Hao would be so vigilant, making him waste a great killer weapon.

"Quick, get the Soul Piercing Arrow back!" said one War Venerate of the Iron Bull Tribe, pointing towards Chu Hao.

Whoosh, a war chariot immediately broke free from the fray and charged toward Chu Hao.

"Leave it!" Su Wanyue intervened, naturally unable to allow a War Venerate-level force to go against Chu Hao.

The man atop the chariot just sneered and steered it skyward!
