Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy-Chapter 3457: Half-God Elements
Alex froze in shock upon realizing that he may have just stumbled upon the truth of Pill Souls. He had spent so many years mulling over the problems of what they might be that he found it hard to believe how easily he had come across the understanding.
One moment he was trying to learn about the new energy in his body, and the next moment he had somehow learned how Pill Souls came to form.
The chain of events was so absurd, and yet it was a perfectly valid series of thoughts.
Then, were Pill Souls really that simple?
’Pill Souls can only be formed in Divine Grade pills. Is the reason for that because pills with Immortal energy aren’t dense enough to form a spirit?’ Alex wondered.
If that was the reason, then he could understand why they had to be Divine-grade pills. But then, that alone couldn’t be enough. If Divine pills were all that were needed to form Pill Souls, then every Divine pill would be a Pill Soul.
If that were somehow not the case, and instead the energy needed to be stronger through the means of Pill Lightning, then every Divine Pill that formed a Pill Cloud had to hold Pill Souls. And yet, they didn’t.
’Am I mistaken then?’ Alex thought. ’Are Pill Souls not that?’
Alex considered it all for a bit and shook his head. ’No, I have to be correct. Instead, I must be missing something crucial.’
The gods were created from the energy that gathered through prayers. Artifact Spirits were formed from the energy that was refined by the cultivator.
In that case, there had to be a ’refining’ that had to happen to pills as well that helped form Pill Souls.
Unfortunately, Alex knew little to nothing about Pill Souls at all, so he couldn’t even begin to imagine what the process might be. Because he had promised Silvermist that he would try and figure out everything about Alchemy all on his own so he may learn the Dao of Alchemy, he hadn’t actually learned anything about Pill Souls.
If he asked the Wine God to bring him some information on Pill Souls right now, he could likely learn a lot about it all. However, at the same time, learning from an external source would definitely make it harder to learn the Dao of Alchemy, and he didn’t want that.
’If only Divine-grade pills can form Pill Souls, then I have no hurry to learn about them.’
"What’s wrong? You haven’t turned a single page for a few minutes."
Bladedance’s words pulled Alex out of his stupor. He looked up, unsure how long he had lost himself in his thoughts.
"Sorry," he quickly said. "I was thinking about something."
"About what?" Bladedance asked, taking the book from his hands. "True Gods?"
She flipped through the book. "Ah, the Children of Heaven," she said with a chuckle. "Can you tell now whether you’re a Child of Heaven or not?"
Alex slowly nodded. "They form out of nothing, while Half-Gods are humans that gain extraneous powers. I understand what I am now."
"Good," Bladedance said and continued reading through the book. Once finished, she placed it aside. "There’s nothing relevant in any of these books, is there?"
Alex shook his head. "None for what we came here for," he said before quickly turning toward the Wine God. "That is not to say that your information hasn’t been helpful, senior. I have learned a lot of different things that I couldn’t have learned without you."
The old man smiled. "Is there anything you are curious about? There may be something in the books that only I could answer."
Alex thought for a moment, considering what he could be curious about. After a bit, he did think of something.
"The Half-Gods are all gods of some elements, aren’t they?" Alex asked.
The Wine God nodded. "They are."
"Which god relates to what element?" Alex asked.
The old man turned toward Bladedance for a moment, seemingly hesitating on whether to answer or not. Upon Bladedance’s nod, he started.
"There are currently 8 Half-Gods," he said. "The Sky God is the god of Wind and Space. The Winter God is the god of Yin and Snow. The Forest God is the god of Wood. The Ocean God is the god of Water. The Fire God is the god of Fire and Yang. The Stone God is the god of Earth. The Storm God is the god of Wind and Lightning. And the Golden God is the god of Metal."
Alex nodded, taking it all into his memory.
"They can share elements?" Alex asked. "The Storm God shares the element of Wind with the Sky God, doesn’t he? I thought the gods hated that."
"They do hate it, but each of the two gods also has reign over a complete element, which is why they are willing to let the other share," the Wine God said.
"Does being the god of two or more elements make you stronger?" Alex asked.
The Wine God couldn’t answer that. He looked to Bladedance for help instead.
"There’s no evidence for either case. Half-Gods rarely fight at all to tell whether it’s possible or not. However, it is believed that becoming the god of more elements is beneficial, which is why the Sky God was considered the leader of the gods for such a long time."
"I see," Alex said, quite interested by that fact. Since he had two elements too, and he shared them with the Fire God, he wondered if the man was already searching for him.
"Is snow different from water?" Alex asked. "It’s the same element, isn’t it? A sub-element sure, but the Ocean God should have a problem with her. He is the sole god of Water."
"I don’t know why he isn’t angry," Bladedance said. "Winter God even joined after him, so it is a little strange."
Alex nodded slowly, thinking about it. Were there any elements that were missing?
Could he take over any of the other elements and become another type of god as well?
